We love those two! They were our 2023 travel friends of the year. We spent time with them in three different states all across the USA and had an amazing time with them. Sadly I’m not sure when we’ll see them next

No way! I stayed up in Taylor park for about 3 weeks (made a vid about it somewhere on my channel) couple years back and when u said “between gunnison and crested butte” it clicked. I went to the BBQ place there a couple times. Pretty good food! But man that brewery in gunnison felt like my second home 😆. Gunnison in general I fell in love with. Seemed like such a nice blue collar community that I blended in well with. Definitely plan on going back soon.

I agree with you on the vibe of Gunnison. We liked it over CB quite a bit. The blue collar, not super touristy feel of Gunnison was great. We’ll be back to work here again one day but we’re not sure when. Thanks for watching!!

Jason and Mirisa, When on Maui you should check out the 2 sunset ocean side drum circles. one is at Baldwin Beach is just outside Paia on The Hana Highway around Specklesville it's on Fridays starting about 3:30 Its a great beach park even if the drum circle isn't your thing beautiful beach lots of turtles. The second drum Circle is on/near little beach on the south coast its Sundays about the same time, its past Keihe and real close to Big Beach/Makena. Both are very local but the people are cool and very mellow, just bring an aloha spirit and maybe a drink or something like that and I hate to say leave the cameras behind. Maui is my Jam and my favorite cousin owns a home very close to Lahaina, his home was spared but he was forced to move his tour business to Waikiki. My heart shattered when Lahaina burned. Have a blast in Maui I am really looking forward to the Vlogs!!!yt JimmyV/ KimoV

We spent the last 4 summers working in Denali. The only restaurant you could make good money at would be 49th State Brewery. Bad thing - you are so far away from other parts of Alaska.

Thanks Dartha! I’m really leaning hard towards Seward. I think it will be the perfect fit for us. Denali seems like it wouldn’t be the fit for us

The town of Talkeetna is pretty much a seasonal tourist trap with some bars/restaurants and if you like riding and fly fishing then it’ll be a better overall area. It’s not too far north that you couldn’t hit the Kenai Peninsula, plus there is an area your right could handle in Eureka, that would be overland and camping, no real work there. Also, you’ll have go to Valdez and the Denali Highway. Also, super close to Talkeetna is Hatcher Pass and you can boondocks out there and it’s amazing, lots of riding there too.

Was wondering what are the benefits of upgrading to a 5500 from the 3500 was your camper too much for the 3500 axle
@thecumminscamper3 ай бұрын
Thanks for the question! We were over the GVWR, aka designed weight, of our 3500 by a lot. The 3500 was designed to max out at 14k. We were 16k. We broke an axle shaft from being too heavy, my brakes were upgraded to Wilwood 6 piston brakes, still warped my rotors anyway. The 5500 is rated for 19k and we’re 18ish so legally compliant and not pushing the limits of the truck like we were doing with our 3500
@rusbodor6183Ай бұрын
Enjoy your blog. Do u know what gearing u have in your Dodge 5500 (4.44 or 4.88) and what gearing do u think would be better for hauling a camper.Also now that u have had super singles for a while , what’s your option of them. Thanks
@thecumminscamperАй бұрын
Thanks so much for watching. We have 4.88 gears and I wish that someone made 5:88s. I don’t think the gearing would be an issue if it weren’t for the size of the super singles. The other fix Ram could offer would be a 10 speed transmission. Maybe their new 8 speed would help bridge the RPM gaps but I find the truck downshifting when pulling hills. I love the super singles overall but they definitely come with their own set of challenges.
@rusbodor6183Ай бұрын
@@thecumminscamper Thanks for the reply!. You should check out DBL they use 6.13 gears when putting on super singles. I currently have a Bigfoot 10.4 camper on a Dodge srw 3500, it works well but I’m thinking of upgrading to a new 5500 just waiting to see what the new trucks have offer, power and torque plus the new 8 spd. What challenges other than cost due u have with super singles. Thanks safe travels.
