I’ve worked remote since 2019 and my wife since 2020, and this is without a doubt 100% accurate. Neither of us would ever give up the freedom of being able to do whatever we want when we don’t have actual work to do rather than sitting in an office and pretending to be busy due to overbearing managers. Not to mention no gas spent, and no annoying co workers!

I am surprised that this is a thing… sounds like some changes need to be made if work is that efficient you get done early… I have always said we need a 4 day work week instead of 5. And by the looks of it we have more than enough hours in the day to accomplish what is needed to be done at work. 😆

Agree that hybrid works best for me. Wherever I spend the most time seems to eventually become the unproductive place. So then I switch gears a little - home more instead of work, or office more than home. For major focused writing tasks, I have also been known to head to the coffee shop, but only occasionally, because otherwise, way too many snacks!

I just realised that there are actually people who finish all their assigned work within their workday. As a teacher I have not experienced this. Work from home has been a life changer for me. While some team managers / companies are really cool with it, I know others just can't stand thinking about their office buildings sitting empty since they probably can't sell them away easily. Hmm, you guys aren't hardcore introverts then. I absolutely love working from home and never get lonely. I get all the socialization I need from watching TV or KZbin. When COVID started and I heard from my friends that China had been shut down essentially (I lived there up until six months before COVID), I told people in the US that I was jealous of them. Then when it came to the US, I was ecstatic that I had an excuse to never socialize or go anywhere. I definitely am sad and sorry for all the lives that were lost during the pandemic, but I have absolutely loved the guilt-free stay-at-home-with-zero-human-contact for months. Every time the States started easing restrictions, I got sad. I wish we could be in a constant state of lockdown. I know that wouldn't work for most people, but I love it.

I’ve read about companies whose employees were much productive working from home during the pandemic who insisted those people come back to the office. Why would you do that? Oh, yeah, micromanaging…thinking people are enjoying themselves too much. I mean, seriously, if the work doesn’t absolutely have to been completed between 8 and 5 what does it matter as long as it gets done? I’m a mental health therapist and I could do all therapy appointments virtually now if I wanted, any hours. I mean, I don’t keep a “normal” 8-5 schedule now. Heck no! I am NOT a morning person. I have appointments between 10 am and 7 pm. It allows more people access to therapy. Win, win.

Been working from home since March 2020. I’m tethered to a headset, but this is very accurate.

Love love love my 8 to 5 job and getting out of the house and socializing. I live down the street and I have an office something I don’t have at home.

Totally agree I had no choice about working at home for 6 months. I was so much happier leaving the house to go to work each day. I also lived close by!

I used to have a 5 mile commute. It took me 45 minutes. Seriously. I DON’T miss that, at all.

I had my first corp. Job at a tech place in a prefabbed warehouse. Now I work remote in a design co. This is ENTIRELY accurate on both sides

1:35 to 1:45 SPOTON I've very rarely needed more than half the day to actually get work done and then have to pretend to be working the other half.

I can relate to the noise thing on the child side. My dad would sometimes work from home and my sibling and I had to be veeerryyy quiet on those days or we'd get in trouble. One time we were playing Wii and it had to be muted since it was in the same room as his office. It was the most awkward gaming ever

I'm literally watching this while working from home. I've been done working 3hrs after I logged on. Also, I ALWAYS tell people, "If there's wifi, I can go." lmao!!
