Not being able to clean your truck, especially the cab on your breaks sounds like a complete joke honestly, I’d like to keep all my gears nice, tidy n clean… I’m no paru fella, but I also understand that those breaks are for resting.

I work within a 50km radius from my homebase and have done so for the last 10 years, I understand I meet the exemption from keeping a logbook, however I have been asked by the company Im contracted to, to transport goods from a workshop in Auckland to a depot in Tauranga and onto a depot in Rotorua, this may occur only once every 3-4 months if that. I do have a TSL from a previous contract that also operated within the 50km radius with the same company. Im driving a 6T GVM flatdeck with the goods only weighing in at no more than 2T and run my own driver runsheet giving name, start time, breaktime, endtime, hubo just to show I do comply with driving hours etc. My question is, because I will be travelling outside the 50km radius for that one day every 3-4 months maybe twice a year, what would my LogBook obligations be on this please.

Hi Dallas Sorry for not a prompt reply. on cumulative work period when you do drive outside of 50km you must have your logbook filled in as i have describe in other videos not only for 1 day, but for the whole cumulative work period. For e.g. you start work on monday but drive in 50 km exemption. tuesday - same deal. But on wednesday you drive outside of 50 km exemption. You must have logbook entries starting from monday untill you have your 24 hour break and finish your cumulative work period. hope it helps... sorry for reply in 11 month lol

Yes i do. In fact if you hold US CDL for longer than 2 years, you only need to pass a computer theory test;) you can email me if you want to know more. Williamg@sdt.nz
