i was in the process of typing a comment about Alan's comment. "if you will do, it will do". just as you said it. so yeah, providing you know what you are doing and the tool is not made of an inappropriate material for processing the intended item. it will work as long as you know how to make it work.

Nice demonstration. The only question I have is why one would ever use such a huge blade for kitchen work? I mean yeah it's possible, but why would you use a tool for something it wasn't meant for even if it kinda works? It's like you'd shave your face with an axe...could work but isn't really all that pleasant. Of course one could argue that if that huge knife is all you have, then it is possible to use it as a kitchen knife....but who will ever be in that situation? At home you have your "real" kitchen knife, and when you go camping I am very sure everyone will take a small companion knife like f.e a Mora with them...and everybody who doesn't just makes it unnecessarily hard for himself. So the only situation where you'd have to rely on the only knife you have would be the typical "survival situation" which lots of people train for but only a microscopic percentage of people ever find themselves in. And that also would be quite a pleasent survival situation where you have multiple fruits and vegetables available as well as a perfectly straight cutting board... My intention is not to disrespect you in any way, I just wanted to express some criticism concerning the concept/idea of the video.
