I like Chinese knives for the value, but nothing beats the feeling of picking up a proper American made beauty. There's just something extra about American knives that really makes them feel distinct from anything that I've handled from anywhere else in the world

Ya I use to buy a lot of budget stuff anytime I’d go into cabelas. With time I’ve refined what I like and I like with most of mine now if there an issue I just have to send the knife in and they’ll take care of it. I don’t care what people do with their own money and how they spend it. I have just gotten tired of all these guys basically becoming salesmen. But again that’s a me problem

5.11 tactical makes these rip/snag resistant cargo pants ...they aunt cheap but I wore a pair for work ...probably three days a week for 4 years until I got too fat fir em. Still hanging in the closet actually. I wear ariat m5's ...they have a true denim for aroubd 90 but the stretchy ones are like ...70. Really good point on the Chinese govt owning all the "companies" I was talking to Jed about Strider and how few models he has and how thet model seems to work very well. He told me he just gets bored making thr same knife over and over and I can definiteky respect that aspect. Great video bro. 😎💪

@@ScotchNThings man I've had good luck with em. I was crossing a barbed wire fence and it got snagged but it didn't rip or shred...it put a tiny hole in the pants. Luckily it didn't get me. But the pants , if they would have been blue jeans...I would've lost a pair of jeans that day.

Sounds like you read my comment on Dave's video 😆 Dave is an awesome dude and he had a really sound take and good perspective on all of it. I totally get why he has a few Chinese knives. I'm not as curious as he is so I can easily resist buying them, but they are indeed well made and can be fun to experience. He does it for the love of knives, and I respect it. You nailed it about how they produce goods in China. Everything comes from a few factories and they just put whatever brand name belongs on whatever comes off the line. Another funny part is all of the marketing videos the Chinese knife companies put out. In their very obviously staged 'factory tour' videos everybody looks like an emotionless worker bee plugging away. The propaganda is easy to see through, but ignorance is bliss. Obviously I'm really impassioned about the China vs USA knives topic. I think if more people were armed with unbiased information, they would dump Chinese made knives, even from local designers they appreciate. But I'll always stand firm on defending people's right in exercising their freedom to buy what they want with their money. I've seen some knife tubers try to tell people what to buy and it's just pathetic watching them let their emotions convince them that people should do what they say instead of let them think for themselves. They're influencers of the worst kind. Cheers man!
@ScotchNThings

Ya I’m in complete agreement with you. There are definitely some cool looking knives they produce but in the end they are almost all alike. I can get fidget knives elsewhere. And there are plenty of overbuilt US stuff out there that will keep me busy the rest of my life. I don’t buy knives as an investment but it helps knowing when I want to sell one it’s still has value in it. And people can spend the money they earned anyway they see fit in my book but with some of these channels it’s just a giant advertisement. Here is a knife I just got for free it’s the best thing ever now follow my link to buy so I get a cut.

@@ScotchNThings facts 😆 I only follow a handful of knife channels now after the scales fell from my eyes and I finally saw the big channels for what they are: salesmen for China. A lot of them are pretty nice people, but I'm done enabling simping for China any further haha. Totally agree that there are more than enough awesome USA-made knives to keep us busy for a long time. Or make our money back if need be 🤣 💯

@@Salamando3D same here. I use to watch a lot to see knives that interest me. But when they decided that they wanted to make it a living they realized that the US makers for the most part weren’t going to send free knives out all the time for them to make content on. Some do and I get that if they are newer and want to get their stuff out for people to see. But to make money they had to start pushing the Chinese knives. And honestly I don’t think we would have ever got to this point if we weren’t the ones making all this content. They saw an another space they could compete in.

@ScotchNThings absolutely! I also am at that funny point in my career (35 yrs old) where I get both sides sometimes. I See a lot of bosses who want the world out of a guy for $18/hour. And a lot of weak kids who can't pay some dues and live without a brand new truck, cell, sneakers, bar tab, etc. For a couple years in order to make a great living once they are skilled. The guys that hire illegals instead of Americans really drive me crazy though. Starting to affect into my favorite side hustle of hardwood flooring. These guys will do it for next to nothing and some contractors don't care about insurance, craftsmanship, or taxes. They pull up in their 100k truck, do nothing, and go golfing. Then they bitch about no one wants to work when they themselves ain't getting down with me and scraping corners🤣 ones things for sure-if you can show up, work hard, and take pride the sky's the limit and you can have the 100k truck too💪

I don't personally buy non USA knives almost ever. I do have one Taiwan made knife. I have some Chinese made lights that I got before I knew anything. Does it sting a little spending 250$ on a flashlight? Yeah, but I also won't have to replace it every year. People acting like like , "well, your TV and toaster are made in China, so why bother?" That way of thinking is why i want to puke when my wife turned the "news" on. Just like the crazy lefties , people like this try shaming people who choose not to buy something from China.

Ya and with those more expensive US lights and knives if you have an issue you can send them in. And that is always the excuse well so and so is made there so there’s no issue. Well it is an issue and if anything were to happen between us they’ll find out what we’ve accomplished by depending on China for almost everything.
