One best part that you are not with other pilots in a Crash Pad right now!! Keep this up and your goals will come up faster than you think.

I wished I would have known what I wanted to do at a younger age. I was in civil air patrol, the way they ran things there wasn't up to par I graduated high-school went to different colleges led dropping out because I was still confused on what I wanted to do so became a pipe welder and fitter it's good pay, but it's OK work now 33 years old married about to have my 2nd kid I'm trying to figure out how to fulfill my dream I would have to quit work I have to think of my family instead of myself because anything can happen which could screw your whole family

When hired at Delta did they give you a choice of base or did they tell you which base you'd be working? Also the same question regarding the airplane. Did you choose the crj 700/900 or did they tell you, you'd be flying that airplane?
@FlyByGarrett
@FlyByGarrett 10 ай бұрын
Base and Aircraft are assigned by the company when in the new-hire class. At least in the regionals. In Delta mainline, you put in what you want, and depending on the demand and spots available, you get assigned by the company, but the company ultimately decides where you go and what you fly. Once you gain more seniority, you can change it.

hey brother, what was your personal path to becoming a commercial pilot? i haven't started yet, and i'd be starting late.. but it's kind of my next big goal.
@FlyByGarrett
@FlyByGarrett 5 ай бұрын
Hey! It was a very weird path for me. I started training when I graduated HS. But could only fly about 1 to 2 times a week. Took me a year to get my PPL, another year and a half for Instruement. Then I went to College for Aerospace engineering, midway thru that realized I hated it. Still finished tho. Spent my last two semester at college and getting my Commerical plus flying skydivers. Got selected at L3Harris in FL for their Instructor sponsored training. Got that done, Covid happened, Got let go. Found a place that managed people's Cirrus Planes and Meridians (that's where my KZbin channel starts) and then got hired at the regionals when I got the hours. Overall a ver long 10 years which could have been done in 3 or 4 years.
