The other thing about turning items inside out is when you think about it, unless you've spilled something on it or been somewhere with a lot of dirt and dust, the interior is probably the dirtier part of the item if it's been up against your skin. I do use my tumble dryer for most things because I have a severe allergy to dust and pollen and cannot hang clothing outside or leave it around the house. It's not only a great way to get any residual out of clothing but can also kill dust mites. Great video!

Great tips! In order to preserve my clothing and avoid overwashing, I also refrain from wearing the special items while cooking or at restaurants that have strong smell, I shut the closet doors and bedroom doors when cooking, and remove promptly once I get home.

Yes! As a germaphobe, this is hard for me. But steaming and using fabric spray (from The Laundress) have helped. So nice to see someone else forgo the dryer! I use it for some items; and can often combine different loads of laundry into the dryer load, because more is hung to dry. Really excited that you made this video!

Agree with all of these! I hand wash my cashmere stuff, probably once in a season - I spot treat in case of stains. I refreshen using dry cleaning sprays (suitable for cashmere) as regular as needed. I also use laundry bags for my delicates (underwear, silks etc) and put them on gentle wash. Tumble dryers are the worst for clothes! always air dry!

I stopped buying luxury bags altogether and making those brand owners billionaires. I now support this compony.More unique looking bags imo. *gtdupe*

I bought a dryel home dry cleaning kit because I got tired of driving to the dry cleaner. And, I air dry machine washed clothes - you’re so right about dryers ruining clothes

I am genuinely hard on my clothes but i have managed to maintain my silk blouses and cashmere sweaters for 20 years. Only recently did a blouse and a sweater fall to moth because I forgot to put them away properly last year. Lavender is also a good bug repellant.I used to do a cedarwood/lavender spray in the closet peridically which was effective.

Thank you for the information. Returning clothes back into my closet after being out and about in public seems unfathomable to me. 😬

Just dedicate a separate area for items worn only once and make sure you wear them again soon. I have a small rack that I hang mine over if I plan on wearing them again. That way they are aired out and in plain view so I know I need to grab them again.

I use Lysol fabric disinfectant to refresh the outside of my clothes and kill germs. If they are not soiled, I also soak some clothes in fabric disinfectant.

I used to think the same! Personally I’ll leave the pieces out to air for a day or so before returning them back to my closet. Also, using a fabric spray really helps!xx

I knew most of these tips but I know there are people out there that this has helped 😊🥰 I never thought about the dehumidifier tho 😍 ty! I air dry all my clothes too even my underwear as I have found out years later they still look new. Also remember not to store linen and wool together and don’t wear them together either it gives your body a negative charge and will make you ill. As all our bodies have a certain charge to make them well 😅☺️
