I'd love to see a video on ECC. Specifically, the nano particle packing graduation and how it effects workability.

I watched a lot of your videos when I had hyperfocus on building an underground bunker in my backyard! Learnt all about prestressed beams, effect of water on concrete etc, was lovely seeing your enthusiasm in your field of expertise. Im deciding to move house now, so no bunker any time soon hah.

I have been thinking about fly ash as of lately. Yeah, I already know I'm not like the other children. I already know it's used in some concrete applications. But how much can be used in concrete, how does it affect the concrete quality and workability? Are there any health and safety issues working with fly ash or with the finished concrete construction?

It's already mixed into some types of cement. There are also different types of fly ash, so that too is a whole new realm of variables to introduce into the cement. Fly ash from coal has been around a long time. Now there's also considerations regarding volcano ash. Slag from iron works, CKD (Cement Kiln Dust, which is basically the ashes from the combustion in the cement kiln and it's quite nasty by itself) and a lot of other materials that are "active" but considered waste from other operations are of interest, but all have to be tried to see if they are feasible to mix in - and for what purpose it's mixed into the cement. There's a lot of research going on in order to lower the CO2 impact, not just capturing the CO2. Different fuels also plays a role. So it's not like going back to the old days where you basically burned limestone to get Calcium Oxide and then mixed it up with some more or less random filler to get mortar to keep your brick wall together.

Maybe you have a video discussing this that I missed but what is your opinion of chopped carbon fiber tow as a concrete additive vs fiberglass strands?

Have you analyzed Doug Lacy's mix for ferrocement?

There's a lot to think about when it comes to concrete and the active ingredient cement.
