Hey! I’m 19 years old and I’ve never been fishing, I’ve watched your videos for over two years now, today after work I bought a pole and a tackle box, I failed, I fixed , I tried, I figured out my pole and I had a lot of mess ups today, but it was fun day and I’m going tomorrow again and the day after, just need a better spot

Now you know why fishermen get so excited on a catch. It takes time. You have to just go and enjoy the outdoors even if you don't catch. Go often. You eventually run into special days, a full wide open bite.

“That translucent color some people say is mercury.” I could not disagree more, that’s just how properly bled and taken care of striper looks. I could be wrong because my only reference is East Coast striper, but I would say mercury poisoning is only a major problem in the outliers of a species, ex: much bigger than normal fish.

Personally, the best way of eating a fresh-caught fish is by steaming it, gut it, descales it, stuff some ginger in it then steam it with some oil, after 10-15 mins (depend on the size of the fish) and the flesh can easily remove from the bone, you can tell its cooked, finally pour some soy sauce on it, the most delicious food on earth is served.

Glad to see you back with more videos regularly, hopefully! Glad you're doing better. Would be great to see some more catch/cook/camp trout fly fishing videos up in the mountains. You should really read up on Euro Nymphing technique with fly fishing and give it a try.
