I'm sure you're already a few hours ahead of us, but the desert biome's lack of low temperatures makes overground pipes(that will never freeze, and are cheaper than going underground) much more viable. Of course the physical space is still taken, but it would be fun to see trails of 7-8 pipes running alongside a highway or power poles. Looking forward to the rest of your playthrough!
@poilboiler7 ай бұрын
Wouldn't aboveground pipes bake in the sun? You'd get no cold water in the taps and let's not even talk about how it might affect the sewage.
@cannaewargaming48156 ай бұрын
What sort of pipes freeze in winter? The only pipes that seem to be affected by winter are the heating pipes, which lose heat the longer they are, but are more efficient when below ground. But is there any need for heating in the desert? It's 20 deg C in March. Oil pipes on the surface don't freeze in winter. Water and sewage pipes can never be on the surface.
@OCinneide6 ай бұрын
@@cannaewargaming4815 I don't know about in-game but IRL desert temperatures can be much lower during the night. I checked Riyadh and it says night time now of 9' celsius. It would be colder on the steppe as well (if this is soviet)
@cannaewargaming48156 ай бұрын
@@OCinneide Yes, but the comment is about the game. And we now know from the videos online that there is not any winter in the Arab and Tropical biomes. The heating pipes lose more heat when above ground. But in this Arab biome with no winter, there's no reason to have heating plants and the heating pipes. Oil pipes in the base game could go above land in the base game without freezing in winter, so there's no difference there. That might not be entirely realistic, but that's the way the game works.

Hopefully, as you mentioned in the first episode, more people will become aware of this incredible game. Given your prior series was 233 episodes, you probably know this, but for those that don't, when you click on a vehicle, you can then click the camera icon above the vehicle's information panel and it will put you into first person. Man, starting with the brick factory is a brilliant idea. You need lots of bricks anyway and any surplus can be sold. In addition you can use coal to produce electricity (once you can afford the power plant) and need it for heat and get rid of waste (incinerator). I'll try your strategy in my next run. This strategy sounds way better than starting with food and clothing factories. I'll try it in my next run.

Probably got adressed, but for stuff like water supply, I'd recommend using wait unter unloaded, and then changing the road so that all the vehicles on the line can wait in a line without impeding other traffic next to the building. So that they don't burn fuel ferrying water back and forth

It's better to specialise your construction offices to speed things up., especially for dumper and open hull strucks. Then you can assign different combinations of offices to Construction Office tool (green icon with white plus, on the left side of the screen). Then you turn off auto search in the offixes and assign things to get built via the construction tool. Nice and easy By the way the sewage cistern strucks can get sewage from the substation itself, no need for loading stationm same goes for water substation

You don't need sewage loading/unloading, because the sewage trucks will collect from the sewage tanks inside the buildings. Or if you build a sewage substation tank that collects from a local area, the truck will collect from that which is much more efficient. You really only need a sewage loading/unloading if you didn't have a river close by and wanted the trucks to drive to somewhere they can dump the sewage, but when you are just paying for the nearby Customs House to get rid of your sewage, then there would be no need for it. TBH you should have just built the sewage outflow at the river and sent a pipe straight to it from the sewage tank in the village. That's the simplest set-up and then doesn't even need a Tech Office and the sewage trucks.

Why don't you enable "wait until load/unload" for water truck?
@cannaewargaming48156 ай бұрын
You didn't need the road depot for delivering water specifically. Though you should always IMO have a road depot somewhere in the Republic (and preferably close to Customs) in order to buy new vehicles. But once you assign any vehicle (including the water trucks) to a line they do not operate out of the depot. It makes no sense to me to bring water trucks to the water unloading station, when they can deliver directly to water substations and buildings. That will require a Tech Office. But as you need a Tech Office for waste and sewage too, then it's not worth trying to avoid them. Plus, you can create a free one at this stage of the game.

Water tower gives a bit of buffer and allows to react in case of any hiccups(i.e. traffic, vehicle breakdown)
@cannaewargaming48156 ай бұрын
@@-NxPx-Phoenix Yes, but these seemed an unnecessary bit of infrastructure to build to get water to the apartments, when they were first built and people moved in. The water trucks will deliver to the apartment blocks and sewage trucks will pickup there. They have small but some inbuilt storage. Blocks the size he has built are OK probably with just 2-3 trucks. This doesn't scale well as population grows, mainly because of the customs traffic jams, but gives you the time to build the well, treatment and pumps to deliver water to the tower and from there to water substations. A free Tech Office would have done the job and ensured there was no problems with water and sewage. That's a repeatable model to use as he expands across the map, except that he needs to establish a water loading bay next to the new treatment plant, so that trucks can pick up there in future for free water, rather than driving the extra distance to the border and paying for it. And sewage should be going in the river!! I would place a sewage unload and discharge near the asphalt road going down to the new bridge. Again, at the start of the Republic, a couple of sewage trucks will do fine picking up the waste and dumping it in the river, for free instead of paying at the customs. Until you can get a full sewage piped infrastructure built.

I think the first order of business should have been oil export, then set up residents before construction materials and steel
@egoalter12766 ай бұрын
Bad idea. Oil industry is extremely expensive, a d best built with as much domestic construction as possible. You start with vravel mines and concrete plants, as these dont use any workers. Then you set up the needs for your first settlement, and buipd the rest of the construction industry. Then you can get into building oil pumpjacks coal mining and a power plant, and shipping out oil and excess power for a stable early income, and the next order of business should be setting up domestic food production and steel production, as both of these will be extremely expensive to import on the long term.once you are self sufficient on food, power, have a completely domestic constructiob sector, can make your own steel, and have a steady revenue stream from oil exports, you can start building whatever you like. But in realistic mode reaching the above will likely take upwards of 20 years of game time.

Seasoned WRSR player here with an advice to new players - do NOT build a brick factory in the beginning lol. Why? Bricks are cheap, but labor is expensive. Let's look at some numbers: - Brick factory takes 2726 workdays (about 10k₽), 30t of steel (also about 10k₽), plus another about 5k₽ in other resource - Large brick flats take 62t of bricks, which comes to 1240₽ with bricks costing 20₽ a pop - Taking into account the cost of coal (about 7₽ per brick), you need to build at least 16 of large brick flats to get your investment back - However, when you account for both the actual and opportunity cost of the workers needed to produce the bricks (workers need food, water, electricity, and bunch of other stuff, so they are actually quite costly) and the trucks to transport them (fuel is expensive!), you'd be lucky to break even - Even if you are making profit, we are talking a few thousands ₽ in a game where you're dealing with millions So yeah, I think you can see why bricks are a poor investment. Same goes for all low per-unit cost resources such as gravel, wood, prefab panels, etc.. You need to move a very large volume of them to make any difference, which requires extensive infrastructure. It's much better to focus on high value, low volume goods such as clothes (1200₽ per ton, 60x more valuable than bricks!!!), and just import all your construction materials. The only exception is steel, which you want to start producing locally in the midgame, as it is both high volume and high value per unit.
