I like the drainage pit but maybe have gutters stop with pop ups above pit. That way you can clean out the debris. Leaves, asphalt from roof, etc. would clog up pipes.

@@TigranGertz as a plumber whos currently spending my weeks cleaning out drain tile due to the extreme flooding happening in my area, I'd say you're wrong, and this happens to be one of my specialties. Over time all rock pits will fill with debris rendering them useless unless catchment is installed. This was a great idea that he gave you and you gave a cocky reply. It shows a lack of willingness to grow for you as a contractor and that's left you with this mistake being made. Not allowing for debris collection is a mistake that will cost the customer in the future.

@@mrspart5548 Yeah I think it would’ve been a good idea to have some cleanout installed. What if at the downspout of the gutter you put a first flush system in? Similar to what people do for rain barrels. That should catch a large amount of the debris and wouldn’t require digging through the turf

I always make such a small amount of profit since I don’t pay taxes. These videos inspires me to always do more and work harder. Just finished a 75k remodel for 5% in three months 400st ft of t-111 replace 50’ of 6ft wood custom fence installed 100’ of fence repaired 40’ of retaining wall of 8” lock block 40’ of metal edging $1500 plants/shrubs/flowers 25 yards of natural brown mulch 5 yards of base rock 20 yards of dirt brought in 10 yards of fill dirt removed 15 yards of brush removed 3000sq ft of grading/seeding 150’ of rock edging 500 sq ft of weed barrier 170’ of 1x4 door and window casings $2500 bathroom remodel 23 light fixtures installed 2 fan fixtures installed And after all this how could you expect the customer to pay just one person all that labor. Would love to either post a video of the job. Thanks Tigran!

I think you have the wrong mindset. $3750 for three months of work is poverty wages my friend. It is all in your head. You might as well go get a job if you are only making $1000 a month busting your ass like that...
@ericpurcell9984
@ericpurcell9984 2 жыл бұрын
If this obviously took that long, 3 months, assuming a 4 day work work to be conservative.. you should have only accepted the jobs that kept you netting at minimum $250/day in profit (8 hrs/day, 32 hrs/wk) still not very good at $12,000 for 3 months of work but it is over 3 times your takeaway. Hope you get better numbers in the future 👍

Curiosity question: what is a ball-park price range for a yard makeover like this? In my area (rural upstate New York) no one spends big money on their yard, in the video you mentioned something like "..a 300k makeover.." was that hyperbole? I have no idea about prices in your area. Thanks.

This is San Jose. Just about every house is worth 1.5-2 million minimum. So 300k on a 2 million dollar house isn't that crazy. $300k on a 300k house just really doesn't make sense. At the end of the day though it really doesn't matter how expensive the jobs are, as long as you have good profit margin.
@keithfreitas2983
@keithfreitas2983 2 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing a minimum a 175k. My 12x20 ft turf cost $6k, my 50ft driveway was 8k and my 8x50ft blue stone was 1k, and BBQ, fire pit and 30 ft sitting wall was was 5k and this was back in 2005. The BBQ, pit, sitting wall and blue stone work was done by me and my sons.
