Hello, it's me again. Marcus (the German one in the Philippines) You are 100% right in what you said. Apart from the fact that time seems to be running backwards here, I would have to change my planning very often. (Sign of the Times). Now I plan to breed no more Boreboels and improve the breed (if possible). But if I am allowed to breed and train presas and dogo Argentino for army customs and police. Boreboels only for private use. One Boreboel per month is three times as much meat as a family of four here. Not my problem. My problem here is that everyone - including my wife - thinks they know everything better than me! That's why the Philippines are where their are!

I can totally relate this sounds exactly like my dog…… I got an XL American bully from a well known kennels in the US shipped to my country when he was about 2 years old, as a juvenile, and we got him a trainer the day he arrived. He's about 160lbs but SUPER fearful and nervous about everything and I really mean everything like toys, collars, leash, his own couch, of course other people, dogs, sounds and scents. Scared of taking shower, scared of dryer, even scared to pee or poop if there's a bug.... and has 0 food drive so treats never worked sometimes even won't eat his food for no reasons. Always runs away and tries to hide his big ass when got scared... My trainer and now my family takes him out twice a day every day for at least 2 hours no matter the weather or time just to socialize and desensitize. He's been with my family for almost a year and he made 0 progress still the biggest coward…… I’m pretty sure the breeder kept him in kennel for the most of time all the way until he was about 2 years old and didn’t let him see other things besides his siblings and that’s why he’s so fearful when he sees other things and no more with siblings. Yes he’s big and beautiful but what? Nothing but the look…

If I was thinking about a boerbull this fella would be my first contact and hopefully the breeder of my dog! Fantastic knowledge of this magnificent breed I only wish I had the room ! For me number 1 followed very closely by the rottweiler two buetifull breeds unfortunately I live in a flat and now 55 unfortunately just a dream for me now but this guy knows boerbull,s !% IF ONLY🙄

Exactly. This applies to any race. Just look at what happened to German Shepherds. Currently, there are two breeding lines, utility and exhibition. Show dogs are caricatures.

The Kennel clubs, and show clubs, was great for pups, but like most things, humans start to distort things, and change things based on there own emotions and wants, and change and destroy many breeds. I have a BB, I got from a fantastic working farm, has barbarian blood line, I have researched and searched , and these are some great great line, not huge, and tall like the ones I have come across but perfect size. Some BB almost look more like corsos now, the brindles look similar almost identical which not sure how that’s possible but it is 😂 😂😂😂😂

Rui, eu concordo contigo, sobre o que estão a fazer aos cães, eu adoro os mastiffs ou os molossos, já tive um bullmastiff, e para mim um mastiff ou boerboel.....tem de ser funcional e trabalhador, mas para mim a culpa não esta nas exposições, esta sim nos criadores, que muitos deles querem mudar o temperamento dos cães entre outras coisas........eu gosto de ir as exposições e acho que os shows de beleza são importantes, porque eu já vi cães de guarda\trabalho funcionais lá por exemplo na Exponor em Matosinhos, e acho que mesmo os criadores como tu e os outros que criam cães funcionais, deviam de fazer as exposições, para as pessoas verem as diferenças !! E tem mais na minha opinião ate faz bem ao cão participar ou ser levado as exposições, porque para mim é uma forma de mostrar que o cão tem um temperamento equilibrado, e que se fez o trabalho de casa em socializa-lo, sem perder as características do animal.

Agree 100% with you. Wife and i have 5 dogs right now. I've had a rottie, doberman, and a shepard growin up that my parents got. But my favorite was my wife and i's 1st dog. We rescued him, he was a 130 pound french bordeaux/boxer/pit mix. A truly great family dog and when he saw bad people, he would let them know, don't mess with this house, he wound up being the neighborhood dog. Cause he truly loved everyone, but he knew good from bad. As far as the 5 we have now, we have 2 chiuahahs, an english bulldog/american bully mix we rescued, a french bulldog, and a wooly siberian husky, the frenchie and husky are AKC registered, but because of the wooly coat on the husky, she can't be a, show dog 😂 and i could care less about showing her in shows. She is so beautiful. She actually looks like a wolf with her markings. But when it comes time for me to get my boerbel. I am comin to you. Love all the videos you put out there. There are breeders here in the usa of them. But i would take one of yours over anyone else's sincerely. Cause you care about them.

I want a dog that can work beside me all day and guard all night. The heavy foo foo dogs would be lame instantly or run off to explore leaving behind their whole purpose of being a farm/family dog. NO THANKS. Show types need not apply. Can't wait for my fur missile to grow up and have Big Show, (Actual name of my stud dog) farmhands with speed, endurance, massive working muscle and genius level smarts. Protection skills built in through great breeding come standard with this model. Glad you keep up the standard and focus of the breed Rui.

I had a neighbour they had boerboel but he was high in wither large legs large body big head very atheletic very handsome but enormous and very musclelair ( the ones i see here are more bulky and shorter (whats difference)( that dog was around 80 kg but differend build really handsome

So well said, the show ring has destroyed so many breeds and contributed to such poor health in those breeds. The standards they impose for the show dogs is so far from what the original animals were created to do.

I've been told my Simba is too small for a Boerboel and I just laugh because they know nothing about this breed I chose to get the runt because he seemed to attach himself to my daughter while we were picking a pup. I can guarantee you tho if you knock on my door he will not greet you with kisses his protective nature is next to nothing I've ever seen in a dog.

You are wright,i've seen in Bulgaria,how they destroy breed in Dog show's.They do it with Kane corso,one of my favorit breeds.They kick out biger 60 70 kilograms75 sm high corso,for some small look alike big pitbuls 30-40 kilo,short dogs.WTF is this

I like your content and your thoughts but this video is double standard since your dogs, to be fair, belong to the typey category, i.e show line looking dogs. Now this doesn't say anything about the temperament which is something you focus and which is good. But their look is show line. From a person who has lived in south africa and seen real boerboel farm dogs(there aren't many left unfortunately) ... Cheers

My friend … the “working line “ dogs you are talking about are ones that look like mutts , all boerboels nowadays are based on show line because that’s what SA did to the breed , you can’t get a real working boerblel line , it’s what certain breeders do from now on that separate work with show lines, all my dogs like 100% of boerboels came from SA lines, but I have here already generations of dogs that are pure working temperament, in the beginning when I started the pups I had mostly were scared of their own shadows now you come to my kennel and almost all pups are pure confidence , so yes I consider having working line as my breeding stock all work or at least tested I don’t breed or keep weak temperaments .
