I never thought anyone could replace Taff, but you and Ant look as if you've worked as a duo for years - Great to see a young fresh-faced teenager like him working so well with an antique like you Stevie lol! When Ant (AKA 'Gandalph the Grey' lol) is 18 he'll be able to drive the van too - All jokes aside it's been lovely to see him come so far so fast and just slot right into what was an already existing closely knit team, not to mention filling Taff's hard-grafting boots! I really appreciate the time taken to explain the considerations and general thought processes applied before you do something rather than just clips of working at the task itself. It helps me to understand, appreciate and actually LEARN something too! Thank you for another great vid D&J!

Nice job again lads! To check a spirit lever, place it and see where the bubble sits (let's assume dead-centre) turn the level around and check again, if the second reading is any different to the first the the level is off, if both readings match, the level is good 🙂

Good afternoon D and J, nice job and good advertising at VW.... The new gate looks very substantial!! The "R line" of fine fencing 👏 Spirit levels do lose there accuracy in time as daft as it seems ....an easy way to see is a line test on a wall......pencil underneath level on wall with bubble perfect then turn it around and see if the bubble is the same on other side and if line is followed .... otherwise it may be slightly bent 😉 Lovely work !! Asne is 34 I reckon . A young looking 34 I'll add but.....and works like a 20 yr old too!! See you Sunday 😜🙏🦉🙏 be safe , be happy ....be kind G 🦉

Ant is about 27, have you never thought of using wedges or off cuts underneath the gate to take some of the weight when you are hanging a gate up so Ants not struggling to hold it up in place. Tidy job 👍

You need a laser setup that burns the D&J logo into wood and burn it into face panels as well as into the back side of fences. The front or show side to advertise discretely, the back side for replacement or service work. I would also put a logo into your post and gravel forms so that posts and boards have a discrete logo also. Maybe every 3rd post on a job or every other bay for the gravel boards, the rest without logos.

Craig, I agree although I thought the first time I saw him he was late 20's. He hasn't had too many close-ups to really tell. For all the outdoor work and sun exposure though, he has great skin! Turn the level and see if it is the same. To check a level. hold it against a wall, draw a line under it. Then turn it and see if you can level against the line, the other way round.

Trick to verify which level is correct: Rotate 180 degrees along the horizontal plane, if the bubble stays in the same place from your point of view (to the left, the middle, the right etc) the level is good. If the bubble shifts from left to right (from your point of view) the level is faulty

I hope you don't mind me making a suggestion but if you set up the gate posts first and then run your levels to end posts each side then you wouldn't have a step down to the gate.. Also, I notice that you guys struggle when banging out old concrete stumps. Do yourselves a favour and dig a small hole down the side of the concrete lump and then break the lump into the hole, it'll save you a lot of time.. Keep up the great work,, love your vids..

The masons level is probably good. The cheap one can't be trusted. Do a level test by setting one on a vertical wall and marking a line. Flip it around to see if it's the same. You should have asked if those storage boxes ever get moved. The fence may need to be removable. Also could be taller to hide it.
