I'm a labor and delivery night shift nurse. Pumping back at work this past week has been hard. Even the next day when I'm dog tired I've slept threw my middle of the night pump and ended up engorged.

Uh I’m going through the exact same thing!! Skipping one late night session caused engorgement and has unfortunately, decreased my supply out of that one breast for 2 days already.

I worked at a daycare and I was denied my pump breaks a few times. If I was going back now, I would keep emergencies wearable and throw them on if I had to. I was a just enougher and then low supply but none of the bfing classes I took actually talked about pumping. So I was pumping 12 min because I was given a 15 min break. 🫠No one in my daycare pace fed and my kid over ate often I absolutely agree that parental leave is key to helping people nurse/pump longer.

I’m an ER nurse and am so afraid I won’t have enough time to pump. The fear makes me wish I could stash enough to last while I’m on maternity leave, but that can’t happen in 12 weeks! 😅😂

You could stash up more than you think if you wanted too! If you need help doing that, let me know :)

@@NewLittleLife Thank you! :) I only have about 5 weeks of maternity leave left. Thankfully my 6 week old sleeps through the night for now, so I’ve been getting up and pumping to stash at least that much.

1st of thank you for all your videos! I am a second time mom, and this time around I got a Willow pump. Hopefully it is easier to balance pumping at work with it! I'm going back to work in October and keeping my supply up and building a freezer stash are my two big things. Thanks again! I really watch these again and again!

I really hope my workplace have gotten their act together since I went on maternity leave almost 3 months ago. I go back next month and when I left, they didn’t have a solid plan for where I could pump. I’m also a float at work and so my schedule/location where I work changes all the time

I’m also a health care provider, 2nd time mom, I stressed my self out during my first that affected my supply a lot. This time around I want to give myself more love and pump only when I am not with my baby, forget about freezer stash. My goal for my second experience, is to heal from trauma and anxiety from my first, due to being inexperienced and setting unmanageable standards. Esp I’m in a country where maternity leave is a luxury

I'm curious to know if you've worked with many women that don't work in an office? I'm a mail carrier and am terrified to go back to work in July. Carrying mail is hot, dirty, and far from convenient places to pump or wash pump parts.

100%!!!! This is exactly why I created my program. Because you all have different situations. We have many nurses, teachers, office workers, and also some who work on a construction site, travel weekly, have long commutes, or have other unique situations like you! You need personalized support, that's exactly what I do! I'd love to chat with you more if you're looking for some personal guidance there. www.newlittlelifelessons.com/working-moms-program

I need some help. I am a working mom. My baby is 10 months and my supply has plummeted! Like a month ago I used to pump about 10 -12 oz at work, this week only 3 - 4 oz... im worried and stressed. I should mention that I'm currently 17 weeks pregnant. However I want to continue breastfeeding my baby.

This sounds very normal for being in your second trimester! So just pump what you can and be proud of your effort. Sounds like you’re doing a great job!

@@NewLittleLife I've only been back to work 1 week. I resonated with all your majority responses. I'm a nurse in the outpatient setting, and while my manager and coworkers are very supportive, it's hard to stick to a pump schedule! I'm trying not to be obsessed about my supply at work and I nurse on demand whenever I'm home. I'm so grateful for all the resources and new products available since my last pumping journey 4 years ago! I bought the WillowGo and it's been super helpful for pumping in the car and for busy afternoons where I can't get away for 30 min. I use my Medela Sonata too and I can't tell yet if my output differs with one pump over the other. Love your channel!

Hi do you have a video or material for exclusive pumping moms on how long they should pump for in a day if they want to keep up supply for more than a year ?
@NewLittleLife
@NewLittleLife 2 ай бұрын
There’s not really a set number, it depends on your current supply, how much your breasts can hold, and how well you’re responding to a pump!

I’m considering manual pumping at work because the set up/clean up for electric pumps can be time consuming. But I don’t know a thing about manual pumping 😂 HELP 😩 PLEASE Also, I live 45 minutes away from work and I work 12 hour shifts. Is it crazy to think I could pump while driving with the Hakaa?
@NewLittleLife
@NewLittleLife 2 жыл бұрын
The haakaa is not a pump and won’t fully empty your breast, so that’s not a good idea. You will need an electric pump. You CAN use a hand pump, but it’s often too time consuming for moms and difficult to do both sides at the same time. There are actually no less parts to clean with a manual pump than an electric. Maybe there is if you do one side at a time, but again that is incredibly time consuming. Does that help?

Question: Does it make sense to get a tabletop pump (for home) AND a wearable pump for work? I am on a budget and if I can avoid the extra cost, it would be better. I can breastfeed at home and pump at work. Unfortunately, I don’t get the luxury of a lactation room at work, so I need a wearable pump. I was thinking of getting the Imani 2 through my insurance.

Hi Allison... Thank you so much for your helpful videos about the sucking pumping machines. I'm about to deliver my baby and I want to purchase my machine, but a little bit confused between the Medla with Maxflow and the BellaBaby machine. I hope I can find an answer/ recommendation from your side to help me nail it down

Hi Allison, I am on my 7th week of postpartum and exclusively pumping with Medela swing. However, I am pumping 500-600 ml a day. My goal is to pump 800-1000 ml a day. I do powerpump a day and am taking teas and fenugreek capsules but still struggling to meet my goal. Any suggestions to increase my supply would be heartly appreciated 🙂

It’s difficult to EP, so kudos to you, Mama! I just had my second child, but struggled with low-supply with my first. As a FTM, I had to give formula to my baby, which was something I never expected or planned for. This coupled with a lack of knowledge about how to start pumping and establishing a supply beyond breastfeeding, hurt my supply in the beginning. I eventually got to a point where I could exclusively provide enough breast milk for every feed in a day, but it took a lot of pumping. With my second, I started breastfeeding from the start, like with my first, but what I changed is that I started pumping early on (Day 4). I’m not EP, but doing a mix right now, because my child is small and has a bad latch on one breast. Have you tried watching videos on other’s EP routines/schedules? It could give you ideas of how you can try to adjust your current schedule and hacks. I feel like it really comes down to frequency, e.g. creating supply/demand. Are you pumping at the times (or intervals) of when your child feeds? The more times you remove milk from the breast, the more your breast will get the message that it needs to produce enough to meet demand (at least that’s how I believe it works 🤔). Power Pumping is great and really helped boost my supply over time. I took Fenugreek and Mother’s Milk tea in the morning to increase output at my second highest pump (2-3rd pump of the day). I also tried to hydrate a lot throughout the day and eat foods like oatmeal to increase supply.
