you're right, pressure is exerted equally on the surface of a confined volume. This teacher seems to lack proper understanding of this topic.

That is an excellent explanation. A couple of questions. 1. What effect does this arrangement have on the maximum force that the ram is capable of? 2. When retracting the ram is the pressure consistently the pressure of the pressure relief valve?

Sir B/rod end directly connected with pump i.e no counter balance valve & pilot operated check valve then @ SOP 1 operation oil also charged to cylinder. Kindly explain briefly why oil return @SOP 1
