The big log entryway into Red Moose Ranch, serving as the logo for ‪@LifeontheMoose‬, was erected in 2016 after the wildfire, using standing dead Ponderosa pine. In this video I detail the construction method and reasoning behind my design.
Now it needs a bit of work. The long thru-bolts (threaded rod) that hold the logs in place need to be tightened, one log post needs to be straightened, and the whole thing needs a fresh coat of stain.
It's a fairly tall structure for our equipment, and yours truly does not like heights! But Karen and I manage to get the job done, in typical creative fashion. The results are well worth the effort (and fear!).
I just hope the ladder doesn't break...
Thanks for watching!

The time and effort you put into everything really shows in the outcome. And you just can't beat an impromptu picnic underneath a big shade tree.😊

Patrick you might try the permachink )used for log cabins normally) to fill that massive checks in. Great work. 😊

Hi, Patrick. Your videos are very interesting, funny and full of information. I've been watching it on TV, but it's not so easy to comment there, so I subscribed with the account I use on my mobile and notebook to comment sometimes. 😊

Yes a sign would be nice 👍. Can you put linseed oil on it also?
