Are you thinking about working out twice a day? You have to think about some very major factors before you pull that trigger. You need to have the time energy and mental stability to do it. And on top of that it can only be done for a short period of time. In this video i give you my opinion on this topic.
I would love to hear if you to two a day workouts in the comments section.
for more great question pleas click the link below.

Great answer. I found that doing calisthenics and jumping rope (on an empty stomach) before I go to work each morning is a great motivator to start the day. I burn a few calories and knock out my cardio. I come home and ignore that I had a mini workout in the morning. If I can’t or choose not to lift after work, I don’t feel like a complete loser. The mini workout has a lasting effect too. Makes me feel alert throughout the morning.

I really agree when you talk about what Kind of Job you do and Training-Quality. After 8-9 hours spent at a desk it's really hard to go and push. That's why I rush into the gym at lunch break and I have 1 hour intense Training on a single main muscle. Three times a week I also add a second light session where I hit bic-calves, trics-calves, glutes. 20 minutes cardio also. The second session of course is very easy and hits small muscles. The nice Thing is The fact I have limited time at lunch makes me push ever more, besides having a fresh mind able to push.

I am doing push pull legs and just feel like shoulders can use more work. So yes if I go in the morning and go all in on chest and triceps, even if I still don’t have the capacity go quite 100 percent to my potential on shoulders later in the evening, surely I can get more out of an isolated evening shoulder workout than i would have in a regular push routine. Especially if I even save triceps after shoulders instead of doing it with chest.
@BizzyIzzy87
@BizzyIzzy87 4 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for liking my comment, what is your take on this. Someone was telling me if strength is my goal maybe it would make sense. But for hypertrophy and muscle gain there is nothing wrong with doing them together and treating shoulders along with the OHP as accessory.

I’m going into the second half of the program (brutal and couldn’t be happier that phase 1 is over 😂) but, my question is how long is appropriate before I run something like “Grandmaster”? I’m predicting I’m going to need some time off (deload) because Warlock has been tough.

I still work night shifts half the time. I used to try to do 40-50 minutes of weights in the afternoon when I woke up. That, as well as walking to and from work, and getting bugger all sleep was exhausting me. Now I only lift on my days off, but do it with much more intensity. I agree that many KZbin gurus don't work, and have time to split training, eating and resting across the entire day.

Do workout at morning maybe 8am after workout rest for 6 hours or nap for a bit before doing the 2nd workout so your muscle would get rest. I killed my muscle when I workout my arms then rested for 20mins and done my legs. I recovered only 2 days because of soreness and I haven’t even took post workout meal so it maybe impacted it.

In the Nederlands the gym are going to open next week, you're only allowed to train 1 hour maximum. You have to do your reservation trough the app so I have to go once in the morning and once at night I guess. I have to work also in between so yeah.. think imma do the compound first and later in the night isolation.

Here's my experience. For almost 2 years now, I do 2 a days every Thursday (day off from work). Heavy back and hams in the morning and then chest and delts pump in the afternoon. I can't have a stim preworkout for the 2nd session otherwise my CNS is fried. I feel best if I am moving around all day (a lot of relaxing PNS activity helps immensely, even more than a nap for me). I love these days because I can basically eat whatever I want as much as I want without gaining weight. One thing I notice is that I am generally not very hungry even in the evening after the second workout but I can't stop eating...that's probably due to elevated cortisol from all the stress from the 2 lifting. sessions. Finally, I usually take either the day before or the day after off from the gym to cushion the CNS stress overload on the 2 a day.

You smell all day unless you shower 4x a day, and you’re less likely to get the benefits of sweating the shorter the workout. It's great for getting leaner, but I don't know if I would rely on it for building more muscle. I'm currently doing two a days now, but I'm trying to burn off that stubborn fat. One session is focused on barbell/dumbell weights and the other is more conditioning/cardio, with kettlebells swings, jump rope etc.

This was very informative, great, pointful, and easy to understand video :) I also have a question that an answer for could help me much My question: (Apologies for the length) What if my I workout during the evening/afternoon, Not killing myself but still training rather intensely & with weights (Push/Pull/Legs). And I wanna add a little 30-minute morning-workout into my routine, BUT without the use of weights, just doing Push-ups, Pull-ups, Crunches, etc... Basically a medium intensity Total-Body-styled workout with my bodyweight. And my diet's good, sleep's good all good, and I just wanna do those 2 workouts (30 min TB morning, 45-90 Minutes Push/Pull/Legs in the evening) Medium & High intensity... How will that affect muscle recovery, muscle growth, etc? I am just scared that if I do a Total body after say a Leg day, my legs' recovery will take a hit and I will see fewer results That is my question, it would mean the world to me to get an opinion/advice on this from a person so experienced such as you, Thanks in advance! :)

another great video and a very good point you make. training twice a day is incredibly hard to sustain . i have known guys in the past use this system to save doubling up on body parts in the same session . having a full time job a travelling to and from work i find it difficault to find time to train 5 days and only one body part a day . If you were doubling up on body parts what would you suggest ie chest and triceps ect . keep up the awsome uploads John .

Training twice a day should be fine as long as it's not the same muscle because if you trained a muscle with enough intensity that muscle now needs to recover from the micro tears by repairing itself from your diet and rest.

John, I am curious what your thoughts are on switching fasted cardio for fasted or eaa/bcaa fueled "pump" work. I don't train twice a day but do an hour of cardio in the morning. Thinking of switching to "pump" work. As always, thank you for all of the great info!

I’m sure it’s not optimal but I really like to do one set to failure of chin-ups and dips every 12 hours

John, What about keeping the volume the same, but going with an A/B workout? In my case, I'm doing deadlift/bench/barbell row/overhead press/leg press. Would there be an advantage to splitting it up & doing deadlift/bench in the morning & barbell row/overhead press/leg press in the evening? Would that optimize protein synthesis?
