Love the fact no fruit is on it. I never feel good after eating most fruits. A banana once in a while is good but I feel the rest have a similar effect as chocolate or sugary foods do, despite the high fibre nature of fruit 🤔

Avocado -I'd add potato/sweet potato, onion/garlic, mushroom, some kind of bean/lentil/green bean/peas, berries/pomegranate seeds, sunflower/pumpkin seeds, pistachios/cashews, walnuts, citrus, spinach/chard (in smaller amounts), and grapes to that list. 😊😊😊

Hey John, Love your channel, training and tips. Just a quick thing on chicken eggs. A common misconception is that happy chickens make a nicer yolk, however as someone who formulates diets for chickens who lay eggs on a commercial scale I can tell you that yolk colour is determined by the inclusion of a dye into the diet which colours the eggs to the market's demand. Therefore chicken egg yolk colour is not related to anything more than how much dye was included, as farmers know that customers like nice coloured yolks.

I have always ate a lot of whole eggs for years. The one brand that is exceptional quality is Vital Farms. People think organic eggs is expensive but when you consider how much it costs to go eat, then paying 5.99 for a carton is cheap. That is the price here in Cali at least. Like John said, the yolks in the better quality are super dark even orange at times. They taste rich beyond comparison to lower quality eggs.

💯❗️I could not possibly agree more, John! Although I feel that balance is important, 95+% of my calories come from Whole Foods. I follow two simple rules: 1) I shop the perimeter of the market and; 2) I try and limit every meal to 5 ingredients...a protein, a carb, a fat, a green and salt; changing the macros as needed. I find nothing wrong with being creative and making meals flavorful, just be mindful of the number of ingredients. Meaning, no processed foods. Thank you for another outstanding video🙏🏻

Ah yes, it feels really good to have self reassurance. Eating pretty much everything on the list, only that I eat salmon every 1 to 2 weeks and only in the recent months have I started eating dark chocolate. Avocados are like hit or miss though, I eat them 2 days and skip them on the third, and it's not that I don't like them it's because they're really expensive in here, like 1,7€ and my total daily spendings are limited to 7€, so it adds up and I have to make compromises.

One thing thats very important to note that wasn't mentioned in this video is antioxidants (like in dark chocolate) consumed pre or post workout can reduce acute inflammation - something that is caused in response to training and is necessary for the response letting your brain know it needs to rebuild the damaged muscle cells back bigger and stronger. You can seriously impede your progress in terms of muscle hypertrophy by consuming anything that reduces acute inflammation pre or post training. It is for this reason taking ibutamoren or paracetamol is discouraged pre training.

Eggs from the store started hurting my stomach for hours after I'd eat them . Like someone punched me in the gut. This started when I was about 32 years old ( I'm almost 39 now) I've heard it's pretty common for people over 30 to suddenly have this issue.. I started buying organic and/or free-range and that cleared the issue for a while , but as the "organic" trend started to grow that has become hit or miss. Fresh eggs don't give me an issue. There is a clear difference. I think part of the problem is that people swap eggs around in the store ( when one is cracked etc.) They could be sitting in the store for a while before you buy them. Then they sit in your fridge for a while sometimes before you eat them too.

On the subject of Egg labeling. Pasture-Raised is the official term for the highest quality living conditions in the USA. It's Pasture-Raised > Free Range > Cage-Free > Caged. Organic is a separate additional thing farmers can do as well and will be stated on the box, but organic eggs are generally free range at best. A local farm with pasture-raised is the best if you can get it, but store-bought is still good.

You have to read the labels on the "Alaskan Wild Caught Salmon." Most of the time is says a product of China on it. They catch it in Alaska then ship it to China for processing. I see this a lot.

@@DatKundalini Yeah, already done that. That's how I know it's just salt that's pink. There is no scientific evidence that it's any more beneficial than table salt. But you can carry on believing the myth and over paying for your fancy pink salt. You won't even get your ample iodine intake from it. Go and have a play with Google without an unbiased view.

Item #1 Organic Eggs, Free Range? I personally ask the farmer or owner if the chickens get feed with SOY in it. Many have no idea and others that do avoid answering the question. I put this in my BPA plastics, High Fructose and SOY category that kills T levels in males. Hope this helps
