Wow!, I was hoping you would get 3k bdft., and Baron did it! that is a nice looking stage pile and so happy you have a nice snow base down and you will get some fresh snow to plane with your plow to fill in the divots, holes and spoil the log truck driver, 😅, I'm sure Brenda will appreciate that too, those little cars do amazingly well if you stay high and keep moving nice and easy as Brenda most certainly does. Thanks Jim, for the words and reasoning of wisdom, it is fun and interesting to hear how you ponder the past and fabricate the future, so neat to see Baron and Co. jogging to the finish line. I think it is so smart to pull smaller loads though you know they can handle more, less arthritis, tendonitis, and sickofpullitis,..building confidence and fundamentals with lighter weights starting creates better form, eliminating bad habits,, I am learning...great work, i noticed that log with the big base flare pulled such- that it skids without getting hung up and plowing..Good job, your Dad looking down smiling, good operation. I better get over and see how Jay and Abby are doing. Love from thigh deep big snow Alaska. Thank you

Baron is such a magnificent animal. But even better, he has the drive and confirmation to work. He really wants to do a job and make Jim proud. No question, there is a strong bond there and all the training is paying in dividends.

HI JIM - What a beautiful snow day in the woods! I love watching you hooking the horses up to the cart with Bill knowing his name & following instructions to line up for hook-up....amazing (I laugh at myself after watching your videos giving "ge" & "ha" commands, my brain automatically goes to those commands when someone says turn right or left!). Thanks for taking us to the woods to enjoy the snow! Missing Brenda and hope she is doing better❤. God bless you ALL....😊❤😊❤😊

@@pam8469 what you think humans are any different!, personally i fell safer around them, they dont kill, humans think its good to eat the flesh of a beast and drink its milk and your worryed about a horse standing on your foot because your not trained, no they have good harts thats why you can herd them pen them eat them and do what every we want too them because they have a good hart unlike humans who have weak harts from eating animals and normally die of a bad hart or cancer and whats with the pictures are you 5?

That "B" team might become the district's "A" team at next summer's horse pulls! If this is the first real day of Baron's working life, mature, heavy-shod, and now a gelding (a lot more directed and less distraction) then its just a beginning, only way to go from here is up. Some horse!

Pg here, at the opening. May I suggest after taking off the horse blankets put one on the cart seat. You can keep it warm. Baron really seemed ready to Go. From far back. (Watching videos). The young horses seem to have a look on their faces, stances, trots, prances? Like a Jr. Varsity football player joining the varsity football Team. Put me in coach, put me in. They seem to love using their new muscles and putting their all into it. I Imagine they are seeing their maker, God, watching like a parent watching a child. The child performs for the parents. They can see beings, things we can not see. Remember the story where the donkey saw an angel ready to kill its master. The donkey saved his life. I just saw a husky save a neighborhood. He dug into the soil and found a gas line leak.

Baron is proving out to be something of a stud, it seems. That's a pretty good day's haul for any team in my (very) limited experience, which is limited to transporting loose hay. Three miles one-way, in some cases, with a few loads of heavy alfalfa bales tossed in for good measure. Baron's bfeed has earned my respect; hopefully Duke and Earl prove as useful as thier elder relative! (Grin) Good job on the video, as well and thanks for making them!

Spare horses are a necessity no matter what in my world, whether it is a for-hire wagon or sleigh ride or logging, or farming, having a spare is make or break. I have 4 young ones I use and one aged mare who technically could be pressed into service, but I never do, she is enjoying 95% retirement at 27. I never get close to 3000 lol, takes half the day staggering around in dense buckthorn and ravines and brush just felling. All the bush around here is way denser than and brushier steeper than what I see on youtube videos
