Great overview. Glad you mentioned pre-filling the new oil, hydraulic & fuel filters before installing them. Ask any diesel mechanic why this is such an important step. Also good to remind folks about reading their manual. They’re thick for a reason.

Thank you very much for all of your videos. I just finished my 50 hour maintenance and this and your transmission filter video were extremely helpful. It's interesting, the transmission filter is not in the manual like you say but the dealership did sell it to me for my 50 hour maintenance. I'm glad I changed it at 50 hours. Similar to as-seen in your transmission filter video, I had some pretty nasty looking sludge come out of mine when I took off the metal shroud and also when I pulled out the metal strainer. I'm surprised they don't include that in the manual but after seeing what I saw I would highly advise anyone to change that filter (yes it's like $70+ dollars - Italian crafstmanship?) at 50 hours. Mine had some gel like sludge in it and I almost wonder if that was from our Texas 100 year freeze. Thanks again for all you post!

So, I just want to let you know... my husband and I went out to get us a tractor yesterday... thanks to your great, comprehensive videos, we passed by the green ones and the red ones and headed straight for the blue and bought a 2019 work master t4.75. Husband told the guy nope to the PowerStar and wanted the work master. He told me he felt like he knew it already! Thank you so much. These videos help a whole bunch of people. My husband is a disabled Vet (with traumatic brain injury) and watching you helps him figure things out without bring me in to help... thank you for giving him back his independence... 😊

I paid about $180 for the filters on my NH TC33D. Ordered them online was the best price I could find. LOL can't tell you how many times I have dropped the drain plug in the oil. I was a mechanic for a local John Deere dealer and I have to agree with you on maintenance. I use water in my tires really doesn't get cold enough to freeze around here. And if it does get down below freezing it usually warms up during the day.

Hey thanks for the videos! Keep up the good work. We just bought a new workmaster 75 for our farm, we are in upstate NY. I was talking with my sales guy and be mentioned something that these motors don’t like to be left at low idle for too long, have you heard anything about that? We do a decent amount of field and loader work so constantly hopping off to adjust pallets or what not, so it might sit at low idle for 5-10 minutes sometimes. Plus, it’s upstate NY and it gets cold, so when it warms up like always, you don’t idle up right away. With these do we ? Thanks again! Stay safe out there!!
@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg 4 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Will do. I always let the tractor run for a couple of minutes here in Texas no matter what time of year to get the fluids moving and lubricating before I idle up. When the temps get down in the thirty’s it’s a lot longer warm up time obviously. These engines do not have a DPF filter where soot builds up then high heat is needed to cook it all off. So I am not concerned at all about low idle work personally. But it’s still an emissions equipped diesel and the hotter the exhaust gets the cleaner the emissions will be thus less chance of a fault code from a bad sensor happening. If you are able to put it to work every so often I think it will be okay. You stay safe up there too!

@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg 4 жыл бұрын
Will do. I just received all the small parts today and now just waiting on the cylinder and hose. Yes I read that it’s common to add a certain type of washer fluid to prevent freezing. I’m not to worried about it freezing here where I’m at. I think there’s a better chance of the rim rusting out before it freezes and ruins a tire.

Chris I have a Workmaster75, purchased shortly after yours and has a 167hrs. Really like the machine and when I purchased your first video was very helpful. I'm not an oil expert but curious why you went with a 5W-40 oil rather than what the book says at 10W-40. I called my dealer and they suggested a 15W-40. I am 45min West of SA.
@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg 4 жыл бұрын
I’m glad to hear the video was helpful. I run the 5w-40 because it’s what the local parts store keeps in stock for synthetic oil plus it’s Rotella which I am a fan of. I have been running T6 for about 5 years now in all my previous diesels and have had great success. From my understanding it’s a -10 degree difference in cold weather vs the 10w-40. Also Rotella claims there are additional additives for extending oil life and heavy engine loads but of course they all say that. I run the same oil in my truck which is now at 175k miles, pushing 5000 engine hours and It does not use a drop of oil.

Nice to see some good New Holland videos! I purchased an open station Powerstar 75 last year but wishing I would have went with the cab. I’m considering the Workmaster 75 cab. Since you’ve had some time with both is the Powerstar worth the extra cost? The Powerstar I purchased did come with wheel weights but on paper the Workmaster is heavier so that’s a plus!
@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg 4 жыл бұрын
The Powerstar has a slight advantage only because it’s a 4 cylinder and it has a larger loader. It did feel like a heavier tractor when operating, however after recently adding water to the rear tires of my Workmaster, it made a world of difference. If I were to start over with my purchase I would stick with the Workmaster because it is not worth the cost difference of a Powerstar. I believe for the price of a Powerstar 75 you can now get the new Workmaster 95 that new holland came out with this year. But it requires DEF.

I just purchased the same machine as yours. You did not cover power steering fluid or pump. Does it use the same hydraulic fluid system as the lifts? Mine has a slight whining sound when turning either right or left and you can feel it on the steering wheel. Is this normal on a new unit that will go away after break-in?
@CenTexAg
@CenTexAg 4 жыл бұрын
The steering uses hydraulic system oil but has its own pump. The following is directly copied from the service manual. Hope it helps. My tractor still has whining noise Hydraulic control components - Overview Operating Principle Oil is taken in by the rear shaft and then drawn via the filter into the pump. Pressure is be increased by gears to direct the oil to the steering control valve via the transfer line. When the steering wheel is turned, the high-pressure oil is directed to the steering cylinder. There is a device in the steering motor that measures the oil sent to the cylinder. This value is proportional to the steering angle of the steering wheel. Under conditions where pressurized oil is not provided via the pump, the meter- ing valve and the suction valve allow MANUAL steering. The system is fully hydrostatic. Therefore, there is no mechanical connection with steering wheels. Neutral Position When the steering wheel is fixed, the leaf springs in the steering engine push the spool and the sleeve in, and keep them in neutral position. This ensures that the transfer of oil to the steering cylinder is cut. Additionally, the sleeve stops the movement of oil in the steering cylinder, which helps to keep the wheels at the previous steering position.

I never noticed the brakes getting weak when I had the tractor. There are adjustment cables on each brake pedal but I don’t have the tractor anymore to look into where they are. If I remember correctly the top of the brake fluid cap says what type of fluid to use.

We also have a 2021 WM75 and it’s had the same brake problem, it’s some how getting air in the system with out leaking. I had to bleed them to get them back, then took it to the dealer and that’s all they did also and gave an excuse. So they have gotten week again and it’s getting ready to go back to the dealership to hope they do something. Only 140 hours and I have to keep bleeding them. This is my only complaint with this tractor, everything else is great.
