I never knew I needed a channel dedicated to my workmate bench... before today I couldn't imagine anyone dedicating a channel much less creating so much content on a single work bench.. Well done sir you solved a problem I didn't even know I had. New sub here.

Great video! I love that you can put away the bench without removing the vise. I did a project recently that made me realize I needed to improve my shop environment.

I enjoy watching your videos for the B&D WM. I have learned much even before having to experiment myself. I would enjoy seeing a video showing then Irwirn Vise in action. If you would do this I can make a decision of how much I’d use it before taking on the expense.

I tried to attach this same vise to the side of a raised panel, but it did not work. Your solution is so much better. Thank you.

Could you do this with a Workmate 225?
@space_cowboy0079 ай бұрын
Hello, first of all thanks for the trove of information. I don't know much about woodworking, so excuse me if it's dumb: why would you need to attach a woodworker vise instead of clamping your wood between the workmate's default planks/vise jaws?
@WorkMateGuy9 ай бұрын
There are times when you have longer or more complex work pieces that may require a vice like this. Always remember, you can never have to many clamping devices. :-)
@josesoto482 жыл бұрын
Q?: Did your vice have a pin? I went to dismantle my vice and there was a roll pin, I am not able to remove b/c of the angle. Do you have any advice? Otherwise, I really enjoy your "how to" videos, they are helping me make the most of my workmate. Thank you!

Can you still fold up the workmate with the vice and 2x8 attached to it?

Hi Brian, you know, I never tried as I always used it attached to a removeable piece of wood.

Could a irwin vise be added to a WORX Pegasus worktable
@WorkMateGuy6 жыл бұрын
bandit va Welcome to my channel and thank you for posting your question. I don't see why you couldn't add the irwin vise to the Pegasus in a manner similar to what I did in this video.

What’s the difference between the WM 1000 and the 425? Thank you
@WorkMateGuy5 жыл бұрын
Jake Hoffman The stand on the 1000 is significantly different, more like a x frame opposed to the collapsible frame on the 425. This means you don't have the adjustable height on the 1000 as you do on the 425. Thanks for stopping by and posting.
@jakehoffman84875 жыл бұрын
WorkMateGuy thank you for the prompt response and the content. I am looking forward to purchasing the 425. I also noticed the frame and step differences. I did not notice significant advantages to the 1000.

I have a Workmate Plus 79-042 Type 2 Medallion, what current model is it similar to?
@WorkMateGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hmm... good questions. If you are looking for a replacement I would recommend the 425. However, I believe it will be a little heavier. Cheers!

You should have used carriage bolts to bolt it down with so the heads would be flush with the surface

JOHN!!!!!!! I FOUND YOU!!!!!!! What happened to your channel?!? I wasn't getting any notifications for a LONG time, & YT kept UNSUBBING me. I searched for your name, and NOTHING shows. ??? Well ... I subbed again, and clicked the bell for ALL notifications. Did you ever get around to doing the project we discussed? It was for a tool holder underneath the workmate. I hope all is well with you.
@WorkMateGuy6 жыл бұрын
Hey Kathleen Zimmerman! Great to hear from you and thanks for subbing! I'm back up and running again. Ill tell you more about it later. I have not had a chance to do the tool holder that we had discussed. More to come...Again, great to hear from you.

Newbie here. Why do you want the vise FLUSH with the Workmate top? I've read other sites where they make a point of mounting such vises about 1/2" to 3/4" BELOW the plane of the table top.
@WorkMateGuy3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alex, I think it comes down to the type of work you will be doing and where you need your work piece held. Cheers!

Open the box in the store if you buy one and make sure the wooden panels are not warped or cupped .before purchase .
@theageoftheawakening48064 жыл бұрын
Honestly though, If you are doing that scale of work on a regular basis, you should just build a workshop/bench. Because obviously you shave the room for a shop. I could see if you are making things at market where you sell your stuff,and you pack this all in a van
@738polarbear5 жыл бұрын
I bought this model yesterday of the Workmate . The belt that synchronises the twin vise screws is very thin and poor quality . Also the centre panel on the one i bought was cupped by 1/4 inch . The panel is a 3 layer sandwich of MDF and bamboo on each outside face . the bamboo on my one was delaminated and cupped . out of the box brand new . I cannot be bothered to take it back its too uch hassle . i will make a new panel out of Baltic birch 3/4 plyeood . i must say the build quality is not as good as my old original one that was over 35 years old . It was stolen thats why I had to buy this new model . B & D are not what they used to be .
@WorkMateGuy5 жыл бұрын
738polarbear Wow! You should really get your money back. I would suggest contacting B&D directly and showing them photos of what you have received. If you decide to make your on panels. This video will help you kzbin.info/www/bejne/qpzKiKGNhK2cm6c

Those aren’t wood screws. They’re dry wall screws with inferior metal.

What's the purpose of the step wouldn't you crack your shin with that every 5 minutes just asking. 🐊
@WorkMateGuy9 ай бұрын
I think the step is to allow you to put one foot on it to stabilize a more difficult or heavy workpiece.
