Great job on the consistent training Reto, another week in the bag 👍

Love how you’re turning those speed bumps into stepping stones, Reto! Keep up the awesome work, dear old friend!

Thanks for the positive analogy, Mihai. Great way of looking at the ups and downs of training.

You and being a keen bean ey Reto 🤣🤣 Then again thats most runners, it's all in the mind and changing the mental attitude 🧠 You're smashing it yet again in my eyes 🔥🔥

Thanks Ryan. The path of progress is not linear, and sometimes progress is messy. We have to keep grinding and the long term progress will reward us.

Stumbled into this great and inspirational channel today, liked and subscribed. Will follow your journey with great interest. How young are you Reto?

Hi Johan, thank you for your kind comments and following our journey. I'm probably a super masters runner lol (60+). I'm still learning and I think there is huge potential for any runner, regardless of age, to explore what is possible.

Spunds like you and coach know what your doing and when to throw the towel in. I usually complete the workout plan even if im jogging the last few sets, if i cant do the whole plan at full pace i like to at least get the mileage in at some effort, thats just me though ay 😂😂 Your coach will tell you im crazy im sure. Thanks for another track update video, really enjoy it 🎉🎉 and the summer heats always holds us back so im sure your get it next time 💪💪

Thanks for sharing your experience, Matt. Yeah, coach pushes me to continue, but there are times when I prefer to turn the page and come back the following week. There is merit to both approaches. I haven't been training at this level as long as you have, and I'm about 12 weeks into weekly track workouts. We're making progress and starting to see the improvement from consistency.

@@RunFreeandStrong Ofcourse recovery is important too so when you call it early sometimes it means recovery is a bit shorter I guess, so you know yourself best, and make the right call 😃😃 Your progressions really good anyway, we can see you working hard !!

Hi Reto, I’m getting the feeling you need to ease off on the intensity, focus on the longer lower HR runs/hikes. Just my thoughts from watching the track series from the beginning. You’re a month away now, maybe gradually reduce and charge up the batteries before the Y100🤔

Hi Andy, thanks for watching and the feedback. The 10-week plan includes 2 weeks of taper, week 1 is 50% volume reduction and week 2 is basically no volume. It's important to maintain intensity and reduce volume. I will talk about this a little more, including the why. Yes, I will continue to focus on b2b long runs.

@@RunFreeandStrong I just felt you’d been pushing yourself a bit too hard based on what I saw, but you know your body and you have the plan😊

@@AndyCliffMTB I ran the first set too fast. Going up and down the ladder, it's important to adjust the pace for different length of repeats. I'm a work in progress.

Sounds like the gas pedal got jammed down and nothing was going to slow you down!

Hey Mark, thanks for watching and unfortunately because the gas pedal got jammed, I quickly ran out of gas! 😂
