I admire and appreciate the dedication, strength, skill level and endurance these athletes possess - my only concern is when these folks hit their 40's and 50's, and what state their fingers, wrists, elbows and shoulders will be in? I only say this from my own experience as a competitive swimmer, who then went into weight and body weight training, and from there martial arts, and now just body weight training with dumbbells and kettlebell. I'm now 59 and have already had both knees and shoulders operated on. My only advice would be to ensure you eat enough clean food that helps build and repair collagen, and fish oil to help out the joints. Good luck to all of you out there involved in this kind of training - I wish you all nothing but good health, strong joints and continued strength.
