Why are victims being told to “be strong” and “don’t let them affect you” when what needs to happen is accountability???? Makes me sick

Bullying in the workplace is a silent epidemic
@anthonyrobson97919 ай бұрын
You are not alone !, I was very much a victim of bullying during my last job. The hardest bit now I am left with a very big emotional scar of anger towards them that I can't vent out , I really hope it I come across to that person at some point in a future. They will get the full treatment, I will just say your pathetic !! And then walk away. It is just horrible thinking about it but we can move on from it and win ! 👍

I empathise with your story, and I think you come across very well intentioned. But a lesson to learn around ego and narcissism. People like this experience the world in a completely different way to you, they live in a world of comparison. Putting you down increases their (perceived) power.

It only shows how very little power that actually have.

This all sounds very familiar. I've recently reported a supervisor after years of abuse. He created a mob and was backed by senior management. He was racist, sexist to others and I was physically threatened and threatened with the sack despite being arguably the top performer. All my appraisals were amazing but they didn't promote me and did so to others who were their flying monkeys. When I reported it to HR they laughed at me and said they would do something and didn't. The worst thing is seeing people with families and kids enjoy seeing someone suffer. I know it's projection but can't get it.

@@NadiaThePoet Thanks and I appreciate you telling your story as it helps. People don't want to believe that others can be this horrible or are scared to stand up. I wish there was an easy solution. Best thing is to move on and feel sorry for them. Someone must be really badly messed up to act like this.

@@NadiaThePoet I'm from Canada. What is your advice? Same here being bullied, mobbed, gaslighting, harassed at the hospital for over 12 years. I've happened to be the top worker for 38 years and have never been suspended. These bullies are jealous and miserable people. Union, manager, HR and the police are all totally useless. Bullies are lazy bums and stupid managers are scared of the bullies. They say about me I'm crazy, I drink, I'm a stalker all bs defamation of character. The biggest mistake since they removed disciplinary measures. They should arrest the bullies and fire the manager. Action speaks louder than nasty words. It destroyed my reputation. I will never quit to make these lazy bums ever win. If I decide to transfer to another hospital and may start gaslighting, smearing and bullying me once again, I don't know all the new managers etc. like in every department like now. So best to not change hospitals. I will never let bullies try to control me from quitting. Just don't react and not try to defend yourself which will only go back and forth making me look even more guilty. Action always speaks louder than words. Just best ignore them and find another easier target. Never let these low life lazy coward bums ever win.

I don't feel the least bit sorry for them. They are dangerous, and who knows how many peoples' careers have been negatively impacted by them, not to mention their financial health? Fortunately, the word is out about this issue and being "fired" does not carry the stigma it used to. It is not as hard as it once was to find a new job after being fired by one of these creatures.

I was mobbed at work right before COVID. It was a brutal campaign of bullying and mental trauma. It was all rooted in pettiness. It’s going on 3 years now and I refuse to care since the stunt they pulled. I can relate to ALL of what you talked about here.

I had a similar experience. I was outshining the lazy middle manager who accomplished nothing all day. She started to harass me, threw away my personal stationary, and spread vile rumors about me. She even started to sabotage my work. She was so threatened when I was quickly up for a promotion. That’s when she became 100 times worse. She launched a smear campaign, convincing people I was a bigot and calling me anorexic and weird behind my back. It was a complete character assassination. Some young and new coworkers advocated for me and were on my side. But I couldn’t win against a senior employee who had been there for 10 years when I was new, reserved, and only been there a few months. Her and her weird friends would even follow me during my breaks and throw away my personal stationary. Or give me work they were assigned to try and sandbag or overwhelm me. I ended up quitting without notice.

You know, this type of behavior goes on all the time. Because there are no laws that protect workers from general abuse at work. In fact, just yesterday, at the company I work for, more than one employee began crying and was so upset, they refused to go back "in there". In the department we worked in, and the whole department manager was summoned, and she made everyone come outside, stop everything they were doing and have a meeting. At this pow wow, if you will, two people spoke up about the abuse they were suffering,and stated that it should not be that hard in there, and that this was the real reason why no one wanted to work in there. And, they were right. In fact, I too had been bullied a lot. And had almost cried a couple times. And believe me I don't cry often. Well, the three people who were the perpetrators so to speak, made comments like, "Some people don't like to be told what to do". Or, "It's because the new people don't have experience", etc. That was a lie. I was so disgusted, tbh. I mean, several people complained, two walked out, there are also several other long term employees who don't want to work in there, and they are going to claim it as the victims faults? No surprise there. Thank you for sharing your story. Again this happens all the time. But just know that it isn't you. It is their personality problems. And insecurity. Bullies at work will always try to attack the targeted person's performance.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I’m also neurodivergent and quiet. So I think that compounded the problem. My bully was a loud, obnoxious, aggressive extrovert. And she would also try to humiliate me publicly and constantly put me down / try to paint me as incompetent. Simply because I worked harder than her and made he look extremely lazy in comparison. She was also threatened because I was much younger than her and had more eduction

Look into my eyes 👁👁.... I got bullied at work by a woman in her 50s when I was 48 & 49. She wore glasses, and resented the fact that I was able to read small print with no problem at all, with no glasses at all (yes, I have perfect eyesight😇☺😌). So she bullied me for 2 years until I had to get another job. I never looked😯back

Hello Nadia. I know it's 3 years later, but I felt like posting regardless am a cis male residing in NYC . When you narrated your story, I felt that most of what you were saying was a copy paste of my situation. I was the target of a mob of 30 plus individual employees from 3 departments separate from mine. I also had to deal with the majority of passive aggressive behaviors from my floor staff. I don't want to share all the minute details just not to veer off topic (but full story is in a link in my profile description). But yes, the shortest assumption i can write is they probably did it because I worked hard and was professional in checking in patients in the hospital I worked at. I went out of my way to help others without requesting any raise, promotion or even recognition. I didn't boast about it in front of others and I definitely didn't suggest directly or indirectly to anyone that I am better than them. Although I quit not long ago, I chose to post about it in order to bring awarness.

I am really proud of you! Your are not only incredibly intelligent but really brave! I applaud you for doing this video and step out from yourself! I’m incredibly sorry you have been passing through this horrible experience and Narcissist abuse! Definitely they felt treated by your talent and wanted to put you down! My son had unfortunately similar experiences in many jobs until the point he got so sick and he was diagnosed with MS. Those mother fuckers destroyed my sons life and going away with their behavior! I have been experienced bulling and abuse at workplace and racism too. They cover themselves, they don’t ignore what the other is doing, they just don’t care! I do not condone racism or abuse for anybody but it is much more infuriating when this abuse is directed to a disable person! I wish you the best you deserve everything and more ❤
