I love the Grant/Lee. Not only did it provide excellent service under UK command against the Afrika Korps until being replaced by the M4 Sherman, it also provided excellent service in the Far East against the Imperial Japanese forces. As if that weren't enough, it is hands-down the steampunkiest tank to ever enter mass production.

I thought the same. Obviously they experimented with different construction methods. The Americans didn't do things half cocked. Any choices made were thoroughly researched beforehand. That way if mistakes were made, they were made for the right reasons and an alternative had already been pioneered. An important aspect and luxury of, "industrial might."

@obsidianjane44132 жыл бұрын
@@gusgone4527 Eh kinda. Sometimes "mistakes" were intentional compromises or the unforeseen consequences there of. The reason there were so many different construction methods wasn't experimentation, it was because of the wide variety of industries that were being pressed into war production as fast as possible had different capabilities. Some could weld plate, some could cast, etc. So the basic design and specs were modified to suit.
