Have the older model. Use it all the time. So convienent being cordless. Definitely is loud, but dry vac's are notoriously loud. Looks like they made this model even better. Like the two levels. Once mine dies will definitely upgrade. Great review as always.

Great video/ demo. Thanks for the heads up on the the helpful accessories to grab when purchasing the vac. Having the foam filter sleeve / fleece bag or fine particulates up front will likely save some headaches (and some $$$) down the road by protecting our investment and prolonging its useful life. Thanks for the thoughtful review. Liked and subscribed!

Have you ever tried this with a dust extractor attachment like the one they make for the Milwaukee oscillating tool? It would be sweet if this would be powerful enough to suction dry wall & grout powder from a vac as portable as this one. In fact it would be ideally perfect if it worked, I know they make fleece bags for this unit which is what you'd want with fine particulate, but the question remains...is this vacuum powerful enough to do the job? I'm going to subscribe because I've watched a ton of your videos already, and I have a feeling your going to eventually get curious enough to test it since I know you have all tools already at your disposal to test it.

Does it use the same hepa filter as the older unit ? The bag to catch smaller particles , will it trap Sheetrock dust ? Are the hoses interchangeable ? Try finding a hose for the older unit.... Milwaukee doesn't even make them. Again awesome video , I've been waiting for this one.....do u know when it will be available ?

And quick isnt like 5 mins, I just thought it would last longer when my drill can run a 1.5 all day. The hose I’m not a fan, I love the quality and length but being that you get that length by stretching it far, it has a lot of pull back when connected to say a router. 6:20 - Restricting the inlet on a vacuum reduces the load on the motor.

@rpsmith
@rpsmith 4 жыл бұрын
@@WorkshopAddict - It causes a higher vacuum around the fan making it easier for the motor to turn the fan. To see this for yourself, put a Wattmeter on a house or shop vacuum and watch what happens to the Wattage when you put your hand over the end of the hose. Also, you can hear the motor speed up when you restrict the inlet.
@WorkshopAddict
@WorkshopAddict 4 жыл бұрын
@@rpsmith I get that, but we simulated what would happen with a person using the vac and we did not "cavitate" the fan.

BTW, most vacuums use this airflow to cool the motor so restricting it for a long period of time can overheat the motor.

@@rpsmith most people using this vac on a floor would restrict the airflow much more than we did. Are you grasping for reasons we are wrong?

I wanted this vacuum till I saw how short the hose is. That's ridiculous. Why would they make such a great vacuum and put a mini hose on it with no option to extend it??

DeWalt really needs to update theirs. Weak power, no bag, no thanks. Meanwhile Milwaukee has updated their's twice, though at a higher cost. Hell even Ryobi has left DeWalt behind. These things are so handy.

I don't need bags with my go-to cordless vacs. I just clean them with my big shopvac and it's giant cheap bags.

This is not an honest review; it's a paid advertisement. The Rigid kicks its ass in every way. The Rigid also has a lifetime warranty. And yes, it was available when this "review/advertisement" was originally posted.

i know this video is over a year old but seems your understanding of vacuum physics is a little bit off for the run time test there.. blocking have the inlet doesnt load it more it actually unloads it.. its moving less air like that, it moves the most air when theres no hose on it and its not blocked up at all.. thats why vacuum motors rev higher when you block the inlet they cant magically increase power to a 110v motor to get more suction its actually the motor running faster as the load was lightened on it same as if you bog down say a belt sander when you lift it up it revs higher

You're wrong, when you have the hose blocked, it causes more resistance, which causes more stress and Importantly, HEAT ON THE MOTOR. Therefore it uses more battery, due to it being less efficient
@AndrewBrowner
@AndrewBrowner 9 ай бұрын
@@PeanutHeadAss youre very confident in your ignorance... maybe go research it a little more, blocking the inlet has the vacuum moving less to no air and the blades of the fan/turbine are working in more of a vacuum state with less air impeding them so its far easier for them to spin common sense would tell you when a motor bogs down its under a heavy load and when it suddenly jumps to a "redline" it lost its load

In the first 30 seconds show a real world demo, picking up sawdust, small chunks of wood, screws, drywall dust. Otherwsie, you might as well just get a good compressed air nozzle to blow the dust out of crevices in your car / job site and sweep it up at the very end. This takes too long for practical use unless you are a handyman working in someones home on a fix and need to clean up a small localized mess. Not a job site mess.
