Thanks for the overview. It's still a bit overwhelming to me, because it's so different from prompting on the MJ website. And today MJ also added a new Moodboard function. I have to dive into it to experience it myself.

Yep, it's definitely a different workflow! The new personalization is interesting. I'll see if I can get a video out for it in the next few days 🙂.

Thanks for the tutorial. My question is whether and how you can assign your created characters to the created places so that they are displayed there.
@woollyferncreative4 күн бұрын
Currently, you cannot add a character into an existing image for a place entity like this within Patchwork, but I think they want to enable that in the future. For now, you can create an image for a place by clicking the paint tray on the place's note scrap, then click "add" and then click on your character entity. Basically, this allows you to create an image that uses your character as a CREF, but the resulting image will be linked to the place entity. Honestly, I think when v7 comes out, many things will improve related to this topic. They are talking about having "omni" references enabled, so that you can have things like consistent objects, logos, non-human characters, etc.

@@woollyferncreative Thank you for the explanation. Then in my opinion "Patchwork" is not yet the world builder I imagine. My hopes are then on version 7 and "omni". :)

Yep! Right now I think it is primarily a brainstorming tool. Midjourney has big plans for it next year though, so we'll see how it develops🙂.

Good stuff, Maynard. Can't wait for consistent characters, etc to be placed in a world and also have video. Dreaming...

Thank you!!! I’ve been quite busy these past two or three days and haven’t continued using MidJourney, but I’ve already decided to subscribe to the Pro annual membership. For this new feature, can the images created be freely edited in the editor? Additionally, if I use this new feature, I hope it can generate various categories with the same style and concept settings, without too much randomness.
@woollyferncreative3 күн бұрын
Yes, any images you create within a Patchwork world will show up on your Organize page where you can edit, make variations, etc. You can use things like SREF codes and personalization profiles within your world to generate images with similar aesthetics. Not sure if that answers your last question or not.
@MYG777773 күн бұрын
@@woollyferncreative I made a mistake-I’m not planning to subscribe to the Pro annual membership, but rather the Standard annual membership, haha.

so what's the difference between "place" and "world" ... if i were to create a storyboard/treatment would need to do a scene breakdown with the scene concept art - would i use the "world" setting or "place" ?... am still tinkering around...
@woollyferncreative2 күн бұрын
The world sets a premise for the rules, aesthetics, and potential content of your world. Any given scene within the world could be a "place" or an "event". Although you can also create images for the world entity, but they might be more meaningful to you when attached to a place or event. You can only have 1 world entity. You can have many note scraps and images attached to a world entity. Unlike a world entity, you can have many place, character, and event entities. Given that, I would set up your world in a way that makes the most sense to you.

an unnecessary tool, when what we ask for is consistency of clothing

Patchwork isn't for everyone, but I know many are really enjoying it. Midjourney has heard feedback re: character consistency loud and clear. We should see a big improvement once V7 is released. If you are interested, you can vote on and suggest feature requests here: www.midjourney.com/ideas

This is wonderful, @woolyferncreative. Not finished quite yet, because I'm struggling with the CREF part. I believe I follow your steps, but when I paste the reference image URL onto a note, I only see the text of the URL, not the thumbnail I can see in your video (your "Wesley" character). When I ask PW to "paint" based on the CREF, the results don't look like the CREF image I gave. Will keep trying, but if anyone has a tip, it'd be most welcome!
@woollyferncreative4 күн бұрын
It should automatically load in a thumbnail of the image after you paste the URL. Make sure you delete those 3 little dots that you see when you first place the note. After the thumbnail shows up, you need to link it to the character entity. When you "paint" make sure it shows the name of your character under "ingredients". If it doesn't, you can click "Add", then click on your character entity. If the name of your character shows up in the paint prompt text, you can also try to click "infer character". Hope that helps!
