Anyone knows how are ranking calculated? 🤔 I thought that the criteria #1 was the number of tops but the ranking proves otherwise (Jakob and yannick have more tops than 2 competitors with better ranking).. interested by your lights!! :)

It is based on the grouping from qualifiers (A circuit and B circuit) Top 10 from each advances into the semifnals.

When there's so many competitors they split the quallies into two groups. The top ten from each group get into the semis. I'm not sure _exactly_ how they rank the two groups when they combine them but you can see that there's two people in the #1 position. They were the best in their respective groups.

When there are a lot of athletes, qualifications are often (as is the case here in Bern) divided into two groups with different sets of bloulders and the best 10 athletes from each group go through to semis. Within each group the ranking is, as you expected, determined by the number of tops, zones, ... For the overall ranking, joined first place goes to the best climber from each group and so on. That's what leads to the seeming discrepancy in tops and zones in the overall ranking.

No, it covers all 3 disciplines for both men & women. The first ever sports climbing I saw was the Moscow World Championships 2021. That had the Boulder, Lead, Speed, & also Paraclimbing. Since it takes place over 12 days (August 1st-12th), & it's only the first day - I'm assuming today was mainly for intro ceremonies & Men's Boulder qualifications. Then the qualifications for Women's Bouldering will be tomorrow, and so on. Either they'll do qualis for the 3 categories first before moving on to semis & finals (which will have the streams), or they'll do semis & finals for Bouldering first and then continue with qualis for the next discipline... etc.
