Totally agreed. No which is best but which suits our holiday style. One thing I noticed is that RC allow guests to be more free and easy, example like I would like to go for an impromptu quick soak at jacuzzi, I can simply walk-in rather than being nailed into the schedule. Food wise, we are able to find local cuisine basically everywhere in SG, and western dining are typically more expensive on land, definitely a great choice to indulge ourselves in these western dining experience without have to worry about breaking the bank account. Btw, you'll never find rice on board except the Japanese restaurant which is chargeable if you didn't purchase the dining pass. Or alternatively you can only find Risotto (if you'd consider that as rice). For someone like me, my main goal of holiday is relaxation and indulgence, so RC definitely suites me more. For those that love activities, then Dream is definitely the perfect choice. On the side note: Quantum is actually designed specifically for Alaska cruise. For Asian market designed sister ship would be Spectrum.

I totally agree with you one point you've mentioned above, that is the western food in Singapore cost more and we also can't easily find good authentic western food in our neighborhood, unless we go to city area. In RC, their pastries are really good. I have the unlimited fine dining package purchased before on board as it has a great discount, selling at about SGD150 for a person. It was a steal cos the food in the specialty restaurants is simply like fine dining which cost a bomb in Singapore. The good thing is you can order anything from the menu. Yes, Izumi too offers the rice experience if someone can't live without rice. Another plus point for RC is their music appreciation in a smaller group in a smaller venue. RC has so many talented musicians who play different types of instruments. While Dream only has the Dazzle Trio who basically only sing like karaoke cos they are looking at the screen to sing. That is not a plus for me, cos everyone can sing karaoke. You need to have certain standards to be a public performer especially since guests have paid for it and it is normal that guests have their expectations. Anyway, as I said, both ships target different types of audiences, so their focuses are slightly different. Lastly, thanks for sharing Quantum and Spectrum in Royal Caribbean. Now I've learned.

For royal Caribbean,you missed that there were also small activities such as scavenger hunt, guess the song and many more. Which you have to book via the app

Wow, nice Yuli, you have a great experience working on this magnificent cruise ship. I guess there are so many things about this big ship that we all don't know about as a guest. I have a great time in Quantum and the staff services are really nice and warm. Love the experience for my 5 days of sailing.

Very good video, have not been on Dream cruises. Have been on P&O cruises Australia, Carnival, MSC and Royal Caribbean. On Voyager class ships on Royal Caribbean cruises there is a peek a boo bridge area , you can the ships bridge from a window at the back of the bridge. Not sure if all the Voyager class ships still have that feature.

Quantum of the Seas Royal Caribbean does not have a peek-a-boo bridge area. I guess it would be an interesting feature for sure. Hope to cruise with P&O cruises Australia and other cruises in the near future. Thanks for your comment.

Yes, you are right Maureen, there do have the activities you have mentioned. I have not included it in this youtube. In addition, RC has lots of music bands and plays real music and instruments and that really needs to be applauded and given credit. Sorry I have not included the one you have mentioned above, such as Bingo and art & craft. Thanks for added in here.

Thank you for a well rounded unbiased review. My friends and me have to opted for the RC already but I guess personally I am being bias becos I prefer a more western style of dining and ambience and I hate gambling. Also most importantly is the service as mentioned by you becos to me a ship may have tons of activities but if service is not too notch it destroys what a holiday exp overall. First of all, thanks so much to take the time to comment and I want to let you know that your comment has made my day for sure. Glad you have also decided to go for your coming cruise with RC. Please remember to join their small music appreciation, which usually happens after the big live shows, there are various bands performing each night for an hour till midnight. I love how the musicians play their instruments passionately and it is a pleasure to watch for us, as audiences. They do it with passion and not like a chore and that's important. They have Jazz, oldies, rock, etc. The food choice, especially if you love western, they provide authentic western cuisine, especially their pastries. Dream pastries aren't as good, probably due to the milk and cheese they used. You can tell it taste different for RC, as they use good grade milk product to make the pastries and cakes. Well, this is an American Cruise so I think they have their standard for western food. Oh yes, the painting talk and auction are interesting too. I don't know much about painting but it is an exposure to see how paintings are sold at auction. Lastly, I hope you have a good experience in your coming cruising with RC. Enjoy.

Haven't tried RC's yet though, have been a member with Dream Elite since launched and hence Balcony Deluxe Rooms are "Free" except port charges and on-board gratuities. Publicly, Dream Cruises' room rates are very much cheaper than RC; DC's Rooms of same categories are also much bigger than those of RC's; and what most annoying is got to go to Raffles City for PCR/ART Tests 2 to 3 days prior boarding but Dream Cruise conduct ART Tests at MBCC just before boarding. RC's expenses are charged in USD, so very much indeed will feel pressured and reluctant in the spending.

I think Dream's system of first come, first serve is terrible! At least on Royal Caribbean, you can book via the app, which is so much easier. For Dream, you can't always get a slot when you show up 10 mins before the activity. But on RC if you book immediately after boarding, you can get a chance to book across your whole trip and need not worry at all as all your bookings are done by first day, so that's a better system.
