I’ve done WFG twice and yes everything is backwards with this company. However, what you see in each agency is different. The first one ran it like a car dealership and the energy was intense. I really liked how the president made sure he was in the front of every deal and was passionate in what he did. Second one they were much smaller and shared an office and they were much more interpersonal in what they did. Both were great with their energy and what they were focused. The problem was recruiting, even after one sentence of conversation I automatically knew my friends or colleagues felt a pyramid scheme type vibe off the company. Also, after I got licensed, the focus was still getting recruits. I got my recruits and still it was about recruiting. I kept thinking about seeing each agency in how awesome they were in bringing people in and getting deals going. However, at associate your focus is still recruiting and making your friends uncomfortable and never wanting to associate with you again. I honestly don’t think it’s worth it and the truth is if you’re not recruiting then it’s probably hard to make money at all in this company.

100% and while I have no problem with people benefiting from recruiting, I think it's a problem when it's the only way to be successful. Especially because you're forced to recruit before you even really know what you're doing...

I am (SO) sorry you feel this way as a result. I can assure you that recruiting is NOT a must with WFG. WFG is only a platform of carriers. Everyone is always welcome to help their own client base. The reality is just with (any) business, you can not have great revenue without partners. One of my partners just purchased a 126 unit apartment complex in TX, he would NEVER have been able to come up with this kind of capital on his own, he pulled in 9 other investment partners and GOT the deal. Another example is a Mcdonalds outfit, have you ever seen the owner at the cash register, and then run to the stove and make the burgers and turn the fries? Of course NOT, he hires a (Team). This is the concept of the WFG business plan. You can never grow exponentially without a correct team. At the same time you NEVER want to recruit just anyone.. Sadly, the "business" world" is NOT for everyone. If you truly want to have a business run itself, you need to ONLY talk to people that you CAN trust with others financials. Even any HR department will NOT recruit just anyone, but those that are a good fit.. So, the bottom line here is with WFG you are always welcome to work by yourself, get all of the commission on your own work. OR you can build an agency and share the wealth with others. Brian, you should NEVER give up on your dreams. Even if WFG is not for you, you should truly FIND something you LOVE and learn how you can monetize it. :)

Great video, one point is missing and a very HUGH reference that is needed is; When a new agent becomes licensed, they do not typically speak with families by themself, they are accompanied by an experience Field Trainer, that have the necessary expertise in the products, financial services industry knowledge to trains the new agent. In every case, it is the experience FIELD TRAINER that does the presentation, data gather, recommendations and recruiting. The 3 recruits you mention here will be part of field training. If you factor in that ALL new agents do not serve clients without an EXPERIENCE FIELD TRAINER, the compensation plan all of a sudden start making sense. The system pairs you with a mentor and you only become a field trainer after a qualification period. It might have helped if attended a training session to understand more about how the system is run. The point that is missing from your video is FIELD TRAINER. However great video and great break down.

Omar, okay so where is the training courses that we need as new agents? I feel super uncomfortable trying to recruit people and dont know a dang thing I am doing? Now they are wanting us to get 25 people and start doing phones zones every Monday night? When they recruited me, it was the fast track, but everytime I asked where can I learn how to do the applications on running an illustration they dont answer my questions. One said play with the numbers, sure I can do that, but I need a scenerio with someone to do this with. I hate to make a huge mistake if I end up out of the blue dealing with a millionairs money, and if I do it wrong, I can ruin him and his livlihood because I wasnt taught properly. I dont care about these vacations that WFG keeps telling us or a new watch or new ring once we hit $100,000k and the conventions and meeting the president or owner of the company. I run a business outside of WFG full time, but when there is clicks or the minute they recruit you and get you to move your funds into an IUL, they leave you pretty much to figure things out on your own especially if this business is about LIfe isurance, never did I imagine getting into it, so now that I am, I want to do this right. I stood up against my Team leader Upline who I told him dont belittle me or make me feel stupid, and make fun of me and other team members on LIVE ZOOMS, and what he did is kick me out from any tools to learn anything. And to be honest, this is one of the reasons why people quit, because the uplines quit caring and helping the new recruits wondering in a daze of what they need to do. So basically if I am an Associate right now, and I learn from someone else how to do the Products in WFG, I can do 100% of my commission? If a referral Partner signs up on wfg they say they get 50/50 that means they make more than the Assoicate level which I am at 35% and my upline who helps me close a deal gets the 70% of the commission? There is no consistancy at all with WFG. Some say you can get help from outsiders from your team and some say its forbidden. And any of the field trainers arent even taking the time to even tell me where I can learn how to these policies. Eventually we become field trainers based when we reach that rank. Thats an MD rank again, you need to recruit 10-10-30 or something close to that and not know a dang thing still. So basically I can be a referring agent, and say I got 100 people recruited, coded and passed thier exam, I hit that bracket which earns my title as an SENIOR MARKETING DIRECTOR and still know ZERO information about life and health insurance.

You can't fully understand the compensation package from this PDF especially since you've never been apart of the company and leadership that properly helps with onboarding and training. Once again, you are delivering information from an assumption perspective with out facts and a lot of guesses to fit your narrative. The fact that you don't understand the builders compensation and say that "because there are more percentages it causes more problems" is a huge indicator that you have no clue and you are misleading people. More credibility out the window. Good Job!
@LIFE180
@LIFE180 3 жыл бұрын
No...you misunderstand what I am saying in regards to this. The fact that agents start at 25-30% is criminal in my opinion. 50% is the absolute bottom any agent should start at. PLUS, for the compensation plan to require you to recruit and have 3 recruits to hit a pay increase so early is a MASSIVE moral hazard. You are getting people out there in the market recruiting before they even know what they are doing. That is by definition a moral hazard built right into the compensation plan. That is my major issue with the plan. It's an internal consumption model. Sell a policy, recruit the policy buyer...or recruit an agent and tell them they need to purchase a policy to participate in the fast start program. Dangerous model.....SHOCKED the FTC hasn't come after it yet. Overall, I have no problem with the leadership, the team building, the recruiting, etc... I LOVE Network Marketing as a whole and think it is a great place for aspiring entrepreneurs to cut their teeth. Just think it is dangerous when you are dealing with peoples money. Nobody should be required to recruit to get to 50% comp....or until they have proved competency. And please don't tell me they aren't required to recruit...we know they are. Not to mention, I have spoken to 70 agents and ALL OF THEM stress how much the training is focused 90% on recruiting and 10% on product eductation..
@money.myth.buster

@@LIFE180 I am not disagreeing you with you about agents starting at 25-30%...that's why my agency focuses on getting new agents licensed in 1-2weeks and PROPERLY promoted to SA within 1-2 months. The objective is to become a Senior Marketing Director and promote Senior Marketing Directors, not keep people at the lowest contract level because in the long term it serves no one. Now, as for people being required to recruit 3 to hit a pay increase...that is not why people should be recruiting 3 when they start and it's not our intention in our firm. I can't control other firms in WFG nor do I worry about them. I can only control my actions and how people in our firm are getting trained. They should be recruiting 3 to get them licensed and promoted as well. I (we) will not bring anyone into our firm unless they get licensed and go through our onboarding and training system. Its an expectation and if they don't want to I (we) will not invite them to be apart of the company. It's that simple. And our fast start training on Saturday's are open to all. There are no recruiting/selling requirements to be apart of that. The fact that team does that is a joke tbh. We also have trainings on Monday called "Money Monday's" where leaders earning $250k+ get on zoom and train all 6,000 agents in our firm live. It's free and guests are allowed to watch. ONE BAD APPLE SHOULD NOT GENERALIZE THE ENTIRE COMPANY. It's funny to me though that you have such a big problem with recruiting in order for people to grow their agency and income, yet independent recruiters are paid based on the value of the person they recruit for a company that isn't even theirs. The more salary that company gives the new recruit, the more that recruiter earns. Yet, it's a problem in this business model? I can see how it absolutely is a problem with her experience, but that is not my experience so I can't agree. Nor world the 6,000 agents in my firm. I can respect your views, but they are simply biased because you have no experience in the company and are relying on those with bad experiences to come on your channel instead of interviewing individuals that have had their lives changed by the company. You find what you are looking for...google bad things you'll find them. Google good things you'll find them lol.
@LIFE180
@LIFE180 3 жыл бұрын
@@money.myth.buster I have no problem as a whole recruiting to increase income. I just really think it is a moral hazard to require so early. It takes months to know even close to what you should know to have quality conversations with prospects and know what you are doing. How can you effectively recruit or ethically recruit to something you don't fully understand? Just a thought. Like I said, love the Networking industry as a whole...I've done a ton of consulting 8n the space and I wouldn't have the life I have without the industry. I just get really defensive when it comes to having uneducated people having conversations with people about their finances and having to blindly trust their upline.... if you're saying you're not doing that, that's good...but you'll be the first a WFG group I have seen that doesn't do it that way...
@money.myth.buster

@@LIFE180 It is a moral hazard for sure...my firm has a specific onboarding/training program. That's also why we have certified trainers that are helping with this process. We do not let new agents complete the recruiting or selling process on their own until they become certified field trainers and are licensed. This completely removes any moral issues. Again, I can't and wont speak for anyone outside of my firm. I just know my experience, how we onboard people and it does not fit this mold you are portraying. I already agreed her experience should not be happening and it makes me angry to see people have these experiences. I know the good we do and I see the lives we've changed. Hi. You really don't need to get 10 people for training. That's probably your recruiter's goal. You run your business the way you want within the guidelines. You can work with other teams that fit your work ethic. I'm turned off with recruiting & pushy sales too. I'm working with what they call the "green" team. You were probably in the blue team. We help educate people with WSB Financial Literacy program. We help them get out of debt and teach them to save & invest in products that they are now educated on & comfortable with.

Buy term and invest the difference is not safe... That entire philosophy was created out of scarcity and simply doesn't align with any of my values. But yes, if I had to compare it to the garbage that WFG does, i would say it is a safer bet. Primerica's problem is that their products SUCK. Their term insurance is the worst....most expensive for the worst benefits. IF you were to adhere to that philosophy as a client, working with Primerica is just inefficient....

@@LIFE180 I understand why you say that about their term insurance… people don’t know they’re the only company who will do real “term to 100” and not that no lapse universal life crap. In exchange for not having as many living benefits as other companies, this is one cool thing no one else offers. But it’s debatable that it’s more expensive. I’ve seen it cheaper than other term companies actually. It really depends. In terms of a “scarcity mindset” from wanting to buy term and invest the difference, what makes that a scarcity mindset exactly? If you run the numbers, you have more money at the end in a mutual fund or index fund than you do in cash value in a whole life policy. Whole life has its place for paying estate taxes when someone passes away and things like this, but it’s really only for the wealthy. Middle class people have no business buying whole life. You’ve said it yourself Chris - whole life insurance is NOT an investment, but a safe place to put your money. But when you can get more money in a index or mutual fund - which is an actual investment - and historically has gone up over time - and save money buying term, it just makes more sense for the majority of people. And for the naysayers who are worried about the market volatility at the end of one’s life - that’s what annuities are for 😁

We train people on our system and people don’t have to recruit immediately. But to move up your displaying the ability to recruit and sell the products. Our office is ranked in the top 3 out of 6500+ offices, we have an operations, licensing and training department to be able to accomodate all new associates through the training and licensing process since we recruit over 100 new associates per month. Only certified trainers are allowed to take point on appointments, and everyone goes through ample checks and balance to ensure they are fully equipped to deal with someone's financial livelyhood.I do not know how others run it but for our team and system we run, ALL new agents are getting paid not just their first month in business but consistent on a part time or full time basis. We run it strict to make sure everyone gets the results they desire. Also our business isn't just scraping by , by using friends and family we work in both cold and warm markets to then fully utilize the entreprenurial system that wfg is built upon.

@@zenithtv123 you'll notice that this video is mainly focused on the compensation plan. Some of their carriers are fantastic. You used Transamerica as an example. An agent starts with WFG and they get a 30% comp rate with Trans. Anyone who wants a Trans contract can email me, and I am happy to connect them with multiple contacts I have where they would START at 80-90% comp and go much higher based on production with the same product.... My problem isn't the companies WFG or PHP works with. It's the fact that it's an internal consumption model that makes success extremely more challenging on new people, incentivises a moral hazard of having people recruit 3 people to get the first pay jump (it's like the blind leading the blind), and putting 100% trust in their upline. I have gotten 2 calls a day since this video from agents who's upline set them up with a policy that wasn't designed for the max cash / min death benefit they thought they were getting....all from different groups... Now I know...there are some good people at WFG. And I believe that. Hopefully you are one of them. But I also know that the comp plan incentives people to cut corners and creates a moral hazard which can hurt new people and potential clients. Anytime you get to the size of a WFG, there are going to be bad apples. When the company doesn't create a plan to disincentive the bad apples, it becomes a major problem.... and here we are.

The worse experience ever. That was pure manipulation and disrespect only to line his pockets especially if you are new. And I lost a good amount of friends and family I tried recruiting. The no longer speak to me. I am a wfg agent as we speak I am on the other side of the coin! You got lucky on whoever you ended with. Yes we are taught to recruit! Fast and hard, the 7 day fast speed 1-1-7, thendo a grand opening hopefully you can get 30-100 people from your LIST we were asked to create, then the 3-3-30 3 recruits, 3applications in 30 days, and of course we get the lower percentage of the cut. Like I said in my earlier posts, where is the links to learn how to do the applications? My upline is to busy with his other legs, and legs of legs, and legs of legs of legs of legs, to even bother, so even if you try to ask him/her, you are S*%$ out of luck your messages dont get any response so there goes my 1;1 with my prosect, Mine is the Team leader, and above him, its straight up to Eric Olson himself. So I dont like how shitty I feel as useless uneducated agent because I have been pretty much abadonded, and I have been trying to find a learning solution on my own now, and I came to this page on HOW TO "WORLD FINANCIAL GROUP TRAINING" yes, I literally typed that in out of desperation so I can learn. Leaverage like i was saying, some say you cant go out of your team, and now some say you can. At this point this business gives me anxiety because people are counting on me and I want to do right in peoples eyes. Just how they the education system is or lack of seriously makes me not want to approach anyone about any product of insurance. Its like trying to learn how to drive a stick shift, but they only taught you the shortcut way one time and you figure it out on your own and telling you your not moving fast enough.

actually, when I first started making videos on WFG and PHP, I had no agenda (go look). I had nothing to offer. Creating an agency using my industry experience was something that I felt I had to do to help all the people who wanted to have an IMO to call home that offered the best product and business training NOT focused on recruiting (but allowed you to recruit and build a team if you wanted). Paying people 30% comp out of the gate is horrible. Making them split cases with their uplines who are already overriding the sale is deplorable, in my opinion. I hear what you are saying, but when you put that much blind faith into people before you understand anything about the biz, it is a recipe for disaster. You destroyed your own credibility in your own video. You compared a 2018 compensation plan from WFG with a 2014 compensation plan, YET you claimed in your video that the 2014 compensation plan was from 2020. Get your information straight before you critique a business.

I had 1 document....that's it. And it says specifically updated 2018. Not much to get confused about.

@@LIFE180 Oh really? Go exactly to 24:45 in your video. You claim that what you’re showing is from “2020.” Out of your own mouth, while literally showing a plan from 2014. You people gotta check your own work. Shit is embarrassing

@@sub_0ptic74 The plan I am showing says it is from 2018. I am not sure if I got mixed up in my words or what, this video was a long time ago now.... However, shoot me the current comp plan and I am happy to review that one if you think it is so much better.

@@LIFE180 Dude you’re ignorant. It’s not about “what’s better.” It’s about YOU misinforming people. LITERALLY go to 24:45 in your video. The plan has “2014” on two separate locations on the pdf you are showing, while you claim it’s from 2020. You COMPARED it to the 2018 plan. Did you hit your head?

@@sub_0ptic74 if there was an error, I apologize. Wasn't intentional, that I can assure you. But, in reality 2005, 2014, 2022, it doesn't matter....the comp plan is atrocious.... if you understood the industry, you would know that.

The more I listen to this. (Commenting as the video plays) the more I can tell you aren’t very educated on all the nuances of our business. There as so many good people and we don’t do anything that can put a client in a bad spot. This is a sad take. You’re misleading people here.

All he is saying is, go work for a better company where you will own your own business not be owned. Not hard to understand.
