Daily bronze wearer here. Despite the stainless steel backings, you’re still going to get green spots on your wrist sometimes, especially in summer when you sweat a bit more. Bronze wears heavier than steel also.

The Zelos website is a lazy mess. You go there to buy a watch and 90% of the colourways are not available, any other company would remove these listings. Only list what you can sell your customers. Very very poor user experience.

I get that this type of business model is suited for a small brand, but I feel Zelos has outgrown it. Given their current popularity, if they don't change their strategy, then they will continue to generate negative reactions - as you can see, I am not only one displeased. Six years ago nobody knew who Zelos is... given their business strategy can anybody be sure that six year from now they will have the same presence in the watch community if their products don't reach the majority of people interested?

So I've had my full bronze Zelos a good few weeks now...there is no issue with the links being hindered by patina build up, in fact the bracelet articulates very smoothly. The design has worked,at least for me, no green on skin from the bronze. A little mention for customer service, of the salmon dial variants only 100 were issued, I put in a long shot request for my birth year...and Elshan the owner got that to me. Pretty happy with that!

The only other watch with full Bronze bracelet Oris Holstein limited edition 2019/2020 sold out second hand market £3000/£4500. When bracelet is discoloured looks tacky, far better nice bronze patina case with good quality rubber strap and nice bronze buckle all day long. 199 dollars crazy price ( 6 months will be 99 dollars ) love your videos quality information.

Very interesting with the full bronze bracelet. The one problem I can see happening is that the bracelet will get stretched and sloppy over time due to the fact that bronze is a much softer metal then stainless steel. I had this issue with a Rolex jubilee 2 tone bracelet where all the solid gold links had stretched.

I might be wrong and there might be one that was released even earlier but I think the Oris Hölstein Edition 2020 was the first all bronze watch in this regard. Jody, if memory serves me well, I think Vostok Europe (different from Vostok) offer a full bronze watch. I cannot see me ever owning a bronze watch, I do like aged items from cars to furniture via watch’s but just not bronze , it looks dirty or badly treated to me. Nor will I be adding meteorite to my collection, looking at this baby it could look as if it were a child’s drawing. Might not sell out as fast being bronze!!! The salmon sold out in 90 seconds. I added it to my cart, then added the bracelet. Proceeded to checkout but they both “disappeared”. Same happened twice more, then on the fourth attempt the salmon was sold out! Time - 90 seconds. After 30 minutes, 4 of the 6 colourways had gone. Another success for Elshan!

Omar, I would say if you are looking for a Bronze watch in the $400 price range look to the Glycine Combat Sub, you get Swiss made with company heritage, very thin and wearable and come in 42mm or 48mm depending on your case diameter preference.

This is another lovely watch from Zelos, but I'm afraid their business model - where everything is a limited run - leaves me cold. Their online shop is a joke: full of pictures of beautiful watches that you can't buy and won't ever be able to buy. What's the point? It somewhat reminds me of Rolex and the artificial scarcity games they play with customers. These days I prefer to spend money with brands that don't treat their potential customers with such contempt. Would I wear this watch? Yes, absolutely, as I would with many Zelos models. Will I be trying to buy one? No, absolutely not. Will it matter to Zelos? Also no because we already know they're going to sell out as they've done in the past. Still, the fact remains I've been turned off this brand and looking at some of the other comments, it doesn't sound like I'm alone.

Lol, people all butt hurt that they think the brand sucks because of scarcity. Easy to buy, between the Zelos site and online AD's. I did wait until early morning for one live sale, because I wanted a particular color, which sold out within hours, but I got the one I wanted by simply paying attention to the release date/time. Not difficult. I have six of their watches now, all bought within the past year or so. Definitely not an impossible brand to buy, but, in any case, it's a Micro brand. Limited runs are just part of that market segment.

4:30 actually Jodi, is irrelevant what you want, you simply cannot have a bronze case back and this is for pure technical reasons: a bronze cashback will eventually fuse with the case (as you already noticed with your unused bronze bezel). You cannot have titanium caseback neither, and for the same reason, although is a different phenomenon there. But is really interesting how every watchmaker is advertising this as them being mindfull to owner's skin :D

I had a bronze Mako II on a leather strap. I ended up selling it on ebay 2 years later for a small profit. For those of you that have never owned a bronze watch, looking at cool patina'ed photos can make it alluring. However, from my experience on hotter days you will get green bronze residue on your skin and after a while, it can rash. Bear in mind the Mako II also has a steel case back just like this watch. While it may look cool, I can't imagine how green my wrist and how uncomfortable it may get while wearing this watch. There is a reason why bronze watches and full bronze bracelet watches are not really a thing.

Great review Jody. I get that people are upset with the zelos marketing, i was too. But, zelos is still a very small operation and to manage quality and price, they need to sell quickly, i get that. The other thing is that some people buy multiple dial versions of the same watch only to cancel some of the orders later (suddenly they are avaliable without notice, only to go out of stock moments later), and that's just not nice. However, the myth of the elusive zelos is not 100% right, as i write this comment there are 26 kinds of zelos watches available on their site (and probably more than one of each), so maybe the "hot" dial versions (like the salmon dial for the sf40) are gone fast, but most of them are there for at least couple of hours and sometimes days, weeks or months, that's enough time to get your hands on one, if not your first choice than the second choice.

I don't see the appeal for this brand and this particular model is no exception. I don't like the case design, the meteorite dial and printing on the dial, fauxtina, that bronze bracelet(!), the strap, and I find the caseback engraving particularly ugly. But to each their own. I might miss something seeing the success they have and the strong resale value (which can be artificially high due to the fact they don't produce a lot of them, like a rolex sales strategy adapted to a microbrand).

Pretty sure there is an all bronze watch and bracelet of the oris 65 that came out first. Look for the Holstein edition. I believe it is the chrono version.

Not everybody has a spare few hundred quid lying around ready for a watch release, life isn't that easy for most people so the ones in the comments saying "it's the same as booking concert tickets, when they are gone they are gone" clearly have an easy life many would like. I guess that's why the micro brand (affordable) side of the industry booms. But for whatever reason a new release is no longer available the next day it still means those without spare money are the ones missing out. If I was running a high value micro brand I would be thinking of the very customer base who rely on micro brands for affordable quality and make a decent amount if I knew they were selling like hot cakes.

For sure 40mm is my sweet spot, and Indeed it a nice looking watch, but I am not a fan one of either Zelos design or bronze. Having said that, I have nothing against them, they are not bad looking watch, just not my cup of tea. I know Zelos must have a very strong following in the fact they sell out so fast. Hats off to them for the full bronze case and strap combo.

I like the look of the watch, but I don't see it on the site so that means it's probably going to be one of these where they unveil it and it sells out right away. So if I want one, I'd be pressured to act fast, and I don't go for that. If they want to do limited runs, fine, but not even showing pics and specs and the different models until the launch is a tactic that turns me off from buying. Someday I'd like to have a bronze watch, just because, but I doubt this will be it.

Just received mine. Came in the box but not the nice leather watch roll. Got a very plastic faux leather zip up pouch instead and the strap came separately in a weird little round case. Also noticed some of the links in the bracelet are not perfectly fused and I can see slight gaps between the steel and bronze on some of them. They are also not very well rounded at the joints so don't articulate very well.

They are coming out with bronze bracelets in 20mm and 22mm with straight end links.

I just got mine a little over a week ago. It's beautiful, but I won't be getting the bracelet. With switching straps and all I know they would patina at different rates.
