I would say that hulchul and hungama were very funny at the time that they released. They hold a nostalgic feeling for me, especially hungama. It was HILARIOUS!

As someone who comes from South India (my family speaks both Kannada and Tamil and are from Bangalore) I feel people take offence for nothing when it comes to Chennai Express. The comedy is so good and it's completely rewatchable. Sure it's caricature-ish at times but it still works for most parts. Another Rohit Shetty that is hilarious is 'All The Best'. The Sanjay Dutt and Sanjay Mishra scene still cracks me up every single time.

If getting offended by everything were rupees, India would probably be the richest country in the world. I remember years ago, one of my improv teachers at UCB (Upright Citizens Brigade) telling me that, if you’re going to do an accent or whatever for comic effect, you should really lean into it and go over the top, basically to the point of absurdity, to make it clear that it’s a joke, and not intended to, uh, harm anyone’s “sentiments.” (Not his words, of course; using the word “sentiments” in that context seems to be very much an Indian English thing, and it amuses me for some reason. Also, this was long before cancel culture and such, so I doubt he’d give the same advice today.)

It was clearly an artistic choice to have Paresh Rawal play three characters, rather than a plot/character-related choice, as it usually is when an actor plays multiple roles in a film (because they’re twins or weird doppelgängers or whatever).

Hulchul released in 2004 as the only major pure comedy apart from Masti and I will take Hulchul over Masti anyday. WTF were the people involved in making the movie thinking I do not understand. Fucking haste Masti with a passionate zeal. 3 hrs of my life I'll never get back. Ruined the one fucking good song in the movie for me forever. PS- Although Mujhse Shaadi Karogi also released in '04 but to me is more of a flick with Salman and Akshay in it hence not comparable.

Hulchul is a bad overatted movie really ??? with a 7 IMDB rating and commercial success movie with high repeat value this guy ANTARIKSH always go mad about some mediocre movies like in this video he is going gaga about movie dulhan hum le jayenge and saying hungama, hulchul ,chennai express are shit movies most of his videos overhype govinda movies most of govinda david dhawan movies had same plot with problematic plot still this guy go crazy on them he should say its his personal opinion not unpopular opinion hulchul hungama most priyadarshan comedy movies are better than 90s govinda comedies even if not better atleast not overatted or bad movies
