From what I've heard of WoH, the game (PC version at least) will be encouraging mod support upon its official release. So I hope everyone is ready for talented fans to recreate Junji Ito stories such as _The Enigma of Amigara Fault,_ _Tomie,_ or even _Uzumaki_ in this engine en masse.

While I'm (cautiously) hype for this, mods are entirely dependent on the writing, art and modding skill of the authors. that being said Tomie or Oshikiri's haunted house series would lend themselves to videogame format really well.

Oh man, days after playing, I heard the soundtrack play through my head each night I went to bed. The subtle beeps and boops stuck with me as much as any of the horror in the game. So happy to play it on occasion

I actually played a lil bit of this during PAX East this year! It was super interesting, the 8-bit style and music def gave that weird sense of atmosphere I like in horror games ( though I am a complete wuss when it comes down to it) I died cause I didn’t really know what I was doin but just exploring and seeing the different monsters was super cool

It seems like it would be really good for online multiplay where you could investigate and fight terrors separately and together and work towards common goals... Kinda like Arkham/Eldritch Horror.

I felt unpleasant sensations from this game and this is a good quality for the games in horror genre. This was not fear, but rather excitement and tension from what was happening. But what is certainly a strong and attractive side of this game, in addition to unusual, creepy images, is the depth and flexibility of the game process, only for this you want to immerse yourself in the passage completely. And of course, the enchanting voice, the way of thinking and feeling that you expressed this game, Sophie, left only a sheer pleasure from the review. Keep it up, have an unique experience and pure enjoy of process Sophie.

The only actual jump scare I've found after 20 hours of play is when you tab back into the game after a certain time of it being minimized, and even then it wasnt that bad.

There's 3, but they're not that bad. One is an event you get while investigating a school that's a spooky face slowly appearing in the window and pretty much going "boo". The other is during an event you have an option of searching a cupboard (and something else that I forgot) and if you fail the skill check a ghost woman appears at the side of a screen for a split second. Another person mentioned the last one.

I really like the idea of this game, but I couldn't wrap my head around the UI. I have no idea what I'm doing half the time and it sucks. It's probably just me being stupid though because Sophie didn't say anything about it.

It definitely takes some getting used to if you don't have much experience with these types of adventure games, but eventually it becomes muscle memory. A good idea is to let the cursor hover above the icons for like two seconds before clicking it to see each description. Since there aren't many timed actions, you can just take your time learning what each icon does.
