If a good player starts telling me what to do, i will usually listen. That happens from time to time, however, most of the time they do it rudely. In which case, i probably won't do it, unless i know it's absolutely the right choice. So good players, set your ego a side when you want people to do what you want. I know for a fact that people will ignore your advice just to spite you if you're rude, even if they know it's the right call. I know that because i have to fight the urge to do it myself.

GW Panther was not trying to suicide. He was in the shallow water trying to stay below line of sight of the ridge so that the enemy would have to drive close enough to be spotted by him before they could spot him themselves so he could attempt a shotgun. Trying to stay below the ridgeline in arty but out of the shallows tends to result in being destroyed while the enemy sits below your gun depression, while trying to stay above that ridgeline tends to result in you being spotted before you can spot anything that isn't a Heavy. He gets into that position at 9:08 and his marker remains completely still until 8:56. If he had been trying to suicide, he'd have drowned right around 8:58.
@Zeknif18 жыл бұрын
Nope, but I'm an arty main and have used that position many times myself for that very reason. He'd have been sat just a little bit to the south of where a small pile of logs rests along the shoreline. You can use that position to level out your arty so you can bring your gun down to bear on anything cresting the ridge around the pond there. He'd have had to drive out a little further to the west in order to actually drown himself, and then there is the fact that he had actually sat in the position he died at for ~12 seconds, 2 seconds longer than it would take to drown yourself... which is solid evidence that suicide was not his first thought in that position.

That STA-2 is better than any teammate I get on NA
@MongooseJakeNerf8 жыл бұрын
Fact is that Circon gave good advice without being a jerk and the STA-2 was willing to heed the advice. Great players acting like jerks will cause people to ignore them and whatever they're saying, and I think that's where a lot of the lack of teammplay originates from. People grow so used to foul chat and demeaning teammates that they tune out from anyone saying anything, even when it's really good advice. If more people would take the time to not only give good pointers, or simply communicate better with teammates in a manner that's not profanity filled harassing messages, then more teamwork would probably be seen. I for one love the rare occasion I can get someone to work with me on a big carry when a game is seriously in the balance. It's great to pull out a hard fought win with the help of even just one or two great teammates while way out-numbered.
@RatIceCream8 жыл бұрын
MongooseJake: WorldofTanks & Fallout Last weekend I had a guy actually listen to me. We won that game. But most of the time, they wouldn't even pay attention to what someone is telling them in chat UNTIL you start spamming the minimap
@Nighthunter66668 жыл бұрын
+MongooseJake: WorldofTanks & Fallout They act like jerks because either they are really jerks or just really really annoyed, because even if they tell the others what to do, they are just simply being ignored or called out for no reason. Also pretty much everyone blames the great players for losing even when they are trying their hardest to carry their teams' sorry ass... I've been trying to give advice to idiots so many times and still get ignored or called out that I stopped doing it altogether. And I'm not even yet a "great" player with my 1.8k+ wn8...
@RatIceCream8 жыл бұрын
Frozenstein I was in my T54 Mod. I did 3.5k damage and ran out of ammo. I tried to ram an RHM to death. We were the last 2 alive. I died and everyone called me noob
@MongooseJakeNerf8 жыл бұрын
Frozenstein Part of the issue there is the two points you made at the start... Seemingly many players in games (I'm personally new to online gaming as only World of Tanks makes up my entire online gaming experience in my life, other than testing a few games here and there) lack the sportsmanship that I grew used to while playing football, basketball, and baseball as well as racing mountain bikes. In online games, either they attract a higher amount of socially incapable people that tend to simply be jerks, or if they are indeed getting frustrated then that's the time they need to self-check and realize that a break might be in order. Ordering people around won't likely go over well, but suggesting things and giving advice in manner where it's understood or explained well can have much better results. Circon showed that by explaining quickly why he said the things he was typing in chat. He made it easily understood that he would spot and just needed the STA to stay hidden and firing as much as possible. He wasn't a jerk or d-bag and look how well it went. If more took that approach, things would work out better more often.
@arkinhk20198 жыл бұрын
Circon is so bloody good... I mean really.
@TheGrammargestapo18 жыл бұрын
there's nothing wrong with doing that. The fact is most players are shit and can't be relied upon to carry. If you're a good player, it's better to keep yourself alive than to bet on a tomato. At the end of the day, the people who die on QB's team win too.
@TheGrammargestapo18 жыл бұрын
iatsd and clearly whatever QB is doing is working considering his winrate is above 60%
@TheGrammargestapo18 жыл бұрын
iatsd successful does mean you're good at tanks, actually. Considering the way we measure being good at tanks is by being successful.
@TheGrammargestapo18 жыл бұрын
iatsd comparing car recall to an internet tank game is pretty absurd. Both are excellent players, and the only ways we have to measure which is better is either head competition or comparing stats. I'm assuming they're relatively similar, but if either has significantly better stats, that's the better player, plain and simple.
@TheGrammargestapo18 жыл бұрын
iatsd no I understand your point, I think it's completely irrelevant in a tank game.

I always chuckle if I see a Circon video because I sumbled into his house once. I was invited by a friend of mine, who knows I love tanks and he casually remarked his housmate is a 'famous wot streamer' 'who?' I asked, fully expecting not to know this famous gamer. The reply was 'Sir-conflex or something'. I burst into laughter which was loud and to be honest too long for comedic effect but when I finally controlled myself, the friend dryly remarked. "You probably woke him up now, he's scheduled for an American timeslot"

i remember growing up with an M42A1 Duster tank in the center of town. there was a story of it being broke down and unable to move when the Chinese had moved a tank in less than a hundred yards away. once repaired the tank manually aimed it's twin 40mm guns, fired up and fired everything at the lone tank and scurrying out of there. the crew of the enemy tank was killed by spawl and the D user got out of town. one of the crewmen was my great uncle, and a Korean man who goes by K Joe since he followed my uncle back and settled in the same tiny Iowa town. the crew all received bronze stars. my uncle went on to be decorated three more times in Korea and twice in Vietnam. he's gone now, but that tank is still operable and with a little work the cannon could be also.
