Great video, but its not a searchlight. Wargaming should fix it. its an infrared light to light up enemy targets at night so the crew can see them using the night vision :D

After thinking WT was a better tank game, with the new MM they added, we can see in every single match, a T-10M (IS-8 in WoT) with invincible armor to 3/4's of the team, very high penetration, and for those thinking that the lower glacis is a weakspot, let me tell you that no german tank higher other than the maus or leopard can pen the "weakspot", (Using APCR ain't an option either.) This is why after a year and half, I'm finally returning to WoT, where tanks pen tanks, regardless of what nation they are. Good job Gajin, making every single German tank and almost every american tank useless. WoT, here I come!

Bulky Cent 7/1 body, with thinner armor in many spots. Crappier turret armor (I was able to bounce sometimes in my 4202 in a frontal battle vs T10s on occasion). A lot more speed. Same gun. The speed is great sure, but why do I need to be thrilled about this again? HEAT is a nice change to be sure though. The premium HESH just under-performed so much even against targets it should have had zero issues with. I feel like they just mixed and matched a pile of already existing parts lol :P FrankenMed o_0

First off Quicky, let me thank you for being one of only two of the gaming channels (the other being the gnome we all know and love) in my subscriptions that isn't playing the Battlefront beta. From what I've heard about the FV4202, this thing is a massive improvement over it simply because of the 4202's relative lack of mobility. I actually remember someone saying once that, tier for tier, the FV4202 was actually worse than the Centurion 7/1.

I messed around with the Action X on the test server last weekend. Using my experience from the Comet on Blitz, I was able to play the Action X pretty well. Great turret armor, amazing gun, very mobile, and holy cow does it climb hills. My first game was on Himmelsdorf, and of course I went hill/castle. From the 50km/h top speed I was easily going 35 up the hill.

Nice change looking forward to it - Great review :) Just a small point a HESH round does not have any penetration "Against Armoured Vehicles like Tanks" & if WG claim such then it is like Arty a flawed mechanic. HESH is meant to pancake against the old style Rolled Homogeneous Armour (RHA) plates or a Cast Armour Turret & then be set off; this was meant to create vibration and De-lamination between the RHA plates or Cast armour and cause a scab to break off and fly around inside the vehicle hence old style HESH is weak on Composite or exotic mixed Armours and has ceased to be used today.

Great review as always, QB. The Action X does look pretty awesome with all that HD detail, very nice model. Looking forward to playing it when 10.0 hits. I tried to get on the 48 hr test server to play it but like a lot of people I kept getting that "tank synchonization" error. Hopefully when the actual 10.0 test server goes live they will have fixed that problem.

The low profile nature of the 122-44 means that it's actually shooting upwards, and also taking the lack of normalization of APCR rounds into consideration. Perhaps a Tiger may penetrate it's turret reliably using AP rounds...

Looks like a great tank. I'm currently learning to play the Mk. 1 Centurion, almost to the 7/1. I usually prefer better armor performance, but the improved mobility of the new tank is appealing to me.

WG needs to add a new minigame, where you get to create your own tanks. Slowly unlock modules and combine them to create machines, the modules have a point system so as you pick better pieces you increase the tier. So Quicky can have his FV4202 chassis and Action X turret, but take the gun of some other tank. You'd have to choose between armor, speed, and firepower just like actual designers. I think this could be a fun side game.

I love my FV4202, It is by far for my play style one of the best mediums in the game. I always had that turret ring to worry about. This tank feels much the same to me as the FV4202 just slightly faster. I am looking forward to the Action X on the live server where not everyone and their mother is shooting gold at you.

As a FV4202 driver I don't like the worse hull armour, but I guess the improved top speed makes up for it, also I don't know how I feel about HEAT instead of HESH...

Drove the action x in test, pleased my FV4202 is being swopped it is too slow and I never get more than 81HP damage with HESH, seems whole of the enemy has spaced armour all round, worked hard to earn it, glad for an upgrade happy to see it go

Definitely going to be a welcome change. While I love the FV4202 for the amazing gun performance, the tank's performance is much to be desired. Mobility was the main issue, once you pick a spot, you're most likely going to stay there and not move much at all as the 4202.

I really liked fv4202 and it was my favorite X tier tank but i personally think centurion AX will be a step up, mostly thanks to heat ammo it gets and its speed

Honestly I think this is one of the best HD models they've ever done simply due to the ridiculous amount of details they've put on the tank. Sadly though i have little interest in buying this tank due to the hit or miss of the turret armor. I sold the FV4202 soon after getting it because I didn't like it nearly as much as the Cent 7.

I love the 4202 but with the extra speed of the X I think it will be a great replacement. If the 5 tier 10's that I have the 4202 gets the most damage per game for me so this should be exciting. Thanks for the great review!

Looks like a really cool tank, and gets that needed top speed increase that greatly limited the FV4202. It seems to be getting far from OP, but unlike what many in the comments seem to think, I hardly find that it would be equally shitty as the FV4202, which was arguably the worst T10 medium. Now, the patton takes that spot IMO. By the way, +QuickyBabyTV, just before the FV4202 is replaced would be a good time to post that FV4202 gameplay I submitted to you a while ago ;)

I got the Centurion 7/1 and wasn't enjoying the grind or looking forward to the FV, so i just slapped that good crew back in my Comet. This tank looks ok, but if I'm expecting to get penetrated, I'd rather just play my Leopard.

So its a tier 10 Cent 7. Mediocre turret armor that is semi-reliable. A pretty good gun. But a huge target with no armor. However the advantage is the new speed! :D With over 1400 games in the Cent 7 I think I'll like this.

Actually I don't think that's a spot lamp in the traditional sense, I think that's an IR lamp. basically floods the field with IR light and lights up targets in the guns sights while not giving away the tanks position. I could be wrong though

No armour for hull or turret! Was excited for this tank as it's a centurion and they're legendary tanks but the gun is the same and I don't care about the speed because 40km works for me and you get used to it when going through the centurion and 7/1. The speed means it's very good for supporting the heavies and support for faster mediums. The idea was the later British tanks were not meant to be like fast soviet mediums. The centurion was designed as a universal all purpose tank so it should be a balance between heavy and medium.

This new Centurion AX looks great. Artificial speed limit at FV4202 was annoying and and also the touret seems more to the front in AX allowing better ridge work I guess. Still a bit worried that this is much bigger than 4202 - shame we can't see both tanks side by side for comparison. Patton M48 must be so jealous now. WG should just shrink it :) so it would be smaller than E5 and it would be perfect :)

It's overall much better for clan wars though, with FV4202... well, she sadly never gets picked... like ever, because no matter how good she is in a hull down there are other tanks that can do that and her lack of high penetration premium round makes her a risky choice unless if the strat really can make use of her quirks... which is rare... with Centurion Action X, this is at least a much better choice because she have 2 reliable shells to choose from for most situations... both of which can perform well against most of the tanks it will meet without the need of a specific strat, as long as she can move into a good firing position.

I love the centurion 7/1, it's the combination of good gun depression, a strong turret, and amazing penetration, that made it so attractive. With a weak turret front, the Centurion Action X or FV4202 just doesn't have much appeal to me.

That area above the gun will likely be penetrated almost every time with 217mm of penetration -- the reason it wasn't here is because you were firing APCR. APCR only has 3 degrees of normalisation, whereas AP has 5. I don't need to explain over match and normalisation mechanics to you but thought you may have forgot to consider this when making the video. My guess is something like the E 50 with 220 AP pen (as its standard rounds aren't APCR like other tier 9 meds tend to have) would butter the turret roof practically every time

Why did they even give HESH ammo 210 mm pen? It was designed to squash onto the side of targets (hence the name) and detonate its plastic explosive, not go through armor

Now 9.12 has come live, we need a proper review of the Centurion Action X. Spoilers: . . . . . . . I love this tank, and this come from a player who hates FV4202's guts after 100ish games and sold it after transfered its crew to my comet. This is a straight upgrade of FV4202 in almost every way, 1. Speed: top speed 53 kph, accelerates and maintains very well thx to the good hp/ton ratio and reasonably good ground resistances. 2. Firepower: got HEAT finally, and still got regular HESH. This is probably the best upgrade to the FV4202, that premium HESH were useless against heavily armored high tier targets. Now it got the 330 pen HEAT every other medium has.........Wait there's more, while the other hard stats on the gun remained unchanged(aim time, accuarcy and dpm), THE SOFT STATS GOT BUFFED MASSIVELY, use to have bloom of turret 0.17, hull 0.17, 0.17, now a top of the pack turret 0.11, hull 0.14, 0.14!!! Not the best vaule (Which belongs to T-62A and Obj 140) but better than half of the tier 10 mediums (Slightly worse than E-50M). Oh and now turret turns as fast as T-62A, 48 degrees/s! 3. Armor, those who claimed Centurion AX has a weaker turret armor than FV4202 had no idea what they were talking about. The turret base (aka FV4202's turret ring) is less prounced and better sloped away from the center, giving it at least 200mm protection. The upper slope part of the turret front 215mm on average. And this is when u r on level ground and at least as tall as Centurion AX. When it start to use its 10 degrees' of gun depression, and hull-down, the base of the turret become invisible and upper part the auto-bounce zone. Away from the center, towards the side of the turret front, the effective armor vaule become rediculous, ranging from 280mm to 300+mm. So avoid shooting there. Overall, turret armor, while similar shape as FV4202, has more effective sloping. The hull-armor? Centurion 7's hull so even if ur enemy can't pen ur upper glacis, they will pen ur lower glacis. 51mm of side armor with paper thin side skirt don't help either.....Its the Centurion 7's hull, nothing great comes out of it. But since u can go hull-down in almost every terrain. It isn't a big issue. Downside? Believe or not, there is one, huge size therefore camo's gonna suffer. But hey, Patton and E-50M has shitty camo too, and they works just fine. But it certainly won't scout as well as Russian mediums or Batchat. Verdict: Fantastic tank, beats patton hands down, compete with STB-1 to best supporting medium at tier X. There, the review. Now, Quickybaby, u only need to insert video and audio :)
