This is one of those tanks that has a steep learning curve. You'll suck at first, and then one day it clicks and you start having some crazy good games. With a sniper rifle for a gun and armor that can bounce the occasional shot if it's played correctly, this really is one of my favorite tanks, I think right behind the IS-4, which is another side-scraping beast

I disagree that the meta is the same in the north of sacred valley since the changes. Sure, for the heavies, it's mostly the same, but the alley that the tank destroyers once used is now gone. On top of that, the bridge and ridge near your base were removed and that was the other tank destroyer spot. Now tank destroyers are forced to play like heavy tanks, because for some reason people think the only way to play a tank is like a heavy..

+NodMan I heat ya. I don't know what it's like on the EU server but on the NA server those corners are well known and make sidescraping a bitch because then your just trading HP. Hull down is nice until they get fed up and start loading skill ammo.

Bedsides all of the pro's and cons you mentioned, the fv215b is a very unique tank as well, which is something we should respect more, because wg are implementing more and more of the same kind of tanks

Ironically, I had my first game in the 215b on siegfried line assault and got 9k damage, which was nice. I'll submit the replay to your site QB and if you want extra gameplay to show, you can show that.

Black Prince needs a buff. It's completely useless when not top tier.

+HPB 1998 But it balances out that it's very strong when top tier. And even in tier 8 it's still quite useful since you can still go bully the tier 6 and 7 tanks, or act as a mobile sidescraping shield so other tanks on your team can go hulldown behind you while you get lots of assistance damage from permatracking tanks you can't pen. Overall I think it's decently balanced, even if it's not as good as O-Ni, ISs, Tigers and T29. I think it's overall better than KV-3, and way better than AMX M4 45. But if anything needs buffing at tier 7, it's the TDs. And if you need to buff any tier 7 heavy, it's the AMX M4 45!

HPB 1998 It depends on what you're trying to achieve. As a heavy tank, it's not necessarily damage dealing and killing that wins most games, but rather flank pushing and anchoring so that the second line support and flankers can do the real damage dealing. AMX is certainly is better than BP at damage dealing and supporting, but the gun is a bit overkill on a tier 7, and it pays for that extra pen by having its other stats nerfed. AMX isn't really THAT terrible, it's just that its competitors for the same playstyle are better at it.

About time! This tank has quite a high skill cap. Thats why you dont see it as often in random battles as easy mode tanks like the t110e5. But when mastered it can outplay alot of tier X vehicles.

I think the thing people most underestimate is the upper frontal plate. After having 600 battles in my FV, I can confidently say that plate is a ricochet to anything except gold spamming jpe100

The problem with the FV215b is that you have to get through the Churchill I and VII, and the BP to get to it. In typical Quickybaby fashion, he is making me seriously consider the pain of that grind.

Before I sold this tank I used to get set on fire 2 to 3 times a match and that was with 2 fire extinguishers and every fire fighting crew perk you could get! My friends and I call it the FV215 BBQ...

The thing is about this tank when side scraping, it has a small angle of armor that is around 90mm thick under the turret on both side which angles towards the enemy when you side scrape. If taken out this tank sooo many times when they think they can be cheeky with their angling.

this thing is awful. I loved the conq, this thing is marginally better imo. Gun was good though. Sidescraping is pointless because there is a flat box directly below the turret on the sides, Tier tens can often pen turret cheeks. It's super hard to go hull down with that giant ass nose. etc.

Quickly, I do tank reviews and such on my channel as well and you missed talking about how the super high caliber guns (155mm and above) like that on the jageroo or something like the T110E4 or E3 can auto pen the side armor of the 215b. It's my favorite tank and the game and I feel that that is something that can be game changing whether or not you know it or not. Thanks for the review though, been waiting for you to do it for a while now.

+Benoit that has nothing to do with it; the jageroo has a 170mm gun which is three times the side armor of the 215b (51mm), therefore it will auto-penetrate the side armor no matter the angle.

FV215b is my favourite tier 10 heavy tank! It has best in class gun and in my opinion best in class mobility (with regards to track and turret traverse). Love it!!!

+Jakob Parsons How well does it go hull down on ridges? I do that a lot with my Conq, and I know FV has the same gun depression, but does the turret placement make ridge fighting difficult?

+Rickard Shen Yes ridge fighting is difficult in the FV215b because the rear-mounted turret allows your enemies to shoot your hull before you can reach your gun down and shoot them. However if you poke the ridges with your hull sideways or drive up the ridge backwards it can be fixed :).

I'm 2 mil creds from the Conqueror (QB any suggests on saving/gaining creds? I'm terrible at it), and this video just solidifies my motivation to get this thing before it gets replaced (If this happens. I really think the Chieftain should probably be a Tank you receive from a set of missions; or make it a Premium tank or something, just DON'T replace the reason I started WoT in the first place), despite some of the the frustration of it and it's predecessors. I really did like the replays you showed, as usual, they're always awesome when I get the time to watch one. :) I'm gonna continue working my way up to the FV; as well as the Obj. 263; Maus; and the FV 183. I'm trying to make myself better in WoT too (I'm a darn 45% lol), so watching how you play kinda helps me adjust my tactics and style of play. You're awesome QB! o7

I know you never do, but I feel like you should have mentioned that with a rammer, vents, and Brothers in Arms, the FV215B actually has the highest DPM of the T10 heavies. It only beats out the T57 Heavy by a very small margin, if I remember correctly, but higher is higher.

1997jankuschef Its easy to understand why since not all tanks can use the same equipment. With that setup on the FV215B, the aim time does drop to 1.56 seconds, and the accuracy increases to .30 with a DPM of 3341 without Tea and Pudding. This tank, properly outfitted, is a crazy consistent damage dealer. I would love to continue my grind down the British heavies, but I really, REALLY don't want go through the Caernarvon.

DW I already know about that weak spot quicky, that's why the FV is not that well armored IMO, but what it does get is that DPM and gun handling to trade off for that. And tanks with sub 240 penetration can struggle against it.

Can I just make a point please. The FV215b has got more DPM than the T57 Heavy when fully equipped (Equipment, brothers in arms, etc.) - Because the T57 Heavy cannot mount a gun rammer, it just misses out on DPM. The FV has 3,341. The T57 has 3,317.

i recently rushed down and got the fv215b counting on that it was going to be replaced with the chieftan, but i really like the tank and i hope they keep it in the game. however, i wouldnt mind receiving a free chieftan tank if they do replace it, perhaps wargaming will turn it into a tier 8 premium tank like with the fv4202

AND: nice that you finally recognize yourself that the DMG Log (both the short one with blocked/hits taken above the tank pictogram as well as the more detailed one right to the pictogram) does not work correctly. Especially after being so arrogant about "it works fine, if it doesnt for your PCs out there, it is your fault" statement during stream (my Xeon gaming rig crashed once in 4 years, but your Win10 infested once per stream ;)). But, there seems to be some pattern: it vanishes when u use TAB key, and comes back after you used tab key again. Look at time stamp 20:20 from this review, or your yesterdays stream when you drove the Conqueror...the "vanished" damage log reappered at time index ~19:50-19:55 (first recording) after you pressed tab.

The callers of my clan highly demand FV-215B, but this is one of the tank that I am afraid to grind so far. Who knows if Chieftain is going to take it over or not. Maybe there will be another replacement instead of Chieftain.

QB, you forgot to mention one very important weak point. The center of the gun mantlet has no armor behind it. I've stopped to play this awesome tank when players (with less than 50% WR) started reliably penning this spot in almost every battle (i suspect that autoaim locks on this spot exactly as on T57 it locks on turret base.)

Alot of ppl hate this tank so glad I didn't listen to them it's now one of my favorite tanks in the game I would just steps keeping your enemies in front of you as long as you do that it's fantastic as I'm on console we have the chieftain now to its also wonderful but different in many ways so glad we have both good video as always

i guess you should start loading HE rounds when flanking tanks.. you could pen most tanks at their rear without any problems ;) ofcourse if they angle it or even turn around you might fail but its fun and i think it is worth :D
