My visuals in sniper mode are a bit screwy every now and then, it might just be some kind of graphics bug. On the other hand, it might be exactly what you suspect and I'm just not seeing it properly because of the same sniper graphics bug. I'll keep an eye out for it in future.

I don't think there's a lot to choose between them. Bear in mind I've only played either of these on the test servers, but they're both dangerous machines, either one will do well in the right hands.

When you think about it the Object 263 is just the Object 261 with massive plates of armor thrown on it and a much more mobile structure as well as a gun that fires AP instead of HE as its primary shell type.

Hadn't considered that actually, took another look and while there were certainly a line of bushes obscuring a direct view between us for most of the early part of that fight, at the first point I was able to shoot at him I could clearly see the top of his turret and his gun mantle over the bushes, and those are both view-check spots, so he *should* have been able to see me.

Ran into one on Prokhorovka at close range, put two shots into his lower plate and both bounced, StuG's gun is pretty close to the ground so angle can't have been much of a factor. Would love to know what the effective thickness of that lower plate is.

I've been trying out the tanks I don't own. Got an Ace Tanker in my first IS-7 match, loving the T110E5, AMX50B and 50-120, and already have the Mle.46 on Live so looking forward to the Mle.48 a lot.

They have a choice of two. The Valentine (slow and heavily armoured) or the A13 Covenanter (lightly armoured and fast).

I like this tank, it's one of the most OP and under played tanks in World of Tanks, and I am rather pleased about this, because many people STILL have no idea as to where to shoot, because there is no "weak point", unless a 250mm gun mantel could be called such a thing

Because the T8 and T9 in the 263 line are so crap it turns many people away from grinding it up. I'm on the 122-54 right now and its a nightmare to play because I still lack 30k xp for the t10 gun. But even than ... I got 100 mm of frontal armor. Lord have mercy on my soul when the arty will hit me dealing full damage. For regular tanks... 100 mm armor wiht the slope calculates to 170 mm of efective armor. Atleast wiht my t8 Su-101 I had somewhere around 210 mm of effective armor so I could bounce some shots cresting over the hill when retreating. On t9 you basicaly get a box with a decent gun and a Big "fuck you till you get those 220k xp" card.

Blue_Tiger Yup Su-100M and SU-101 are pretty CRAP but the Su-122-54 and the Obj. 263 are pretty OP , if you don't use free exp it can take a year ^^

True. And though I don't doubt your skills, but what Zander said is correct. I noticed you lead on shots zero times in that match. Not sure if you just didn't think of it, or had no clue. But you always have to compensate for a moving target, making the lead larger depending on distance and speed.

When they are releasing a big patch, they will put test server up so before applying the patch on live servers. You can download it from their websites when they are up, tho I don´t think they will be up anytime soon as there are so many countries just added in =p

2 questions. 1. maus or e100. 2.268 or 263? very aggressive player, usually in their face or flanking.

1.) For an aggressive player, the E100. hands down. Your armour may not be as good as what the Maus has, but you're significantly more mobile and have a very solid gun no matter which one you pick, although the larger cannon requires a decent amount of premium ammo because of its relatively low penetration values. 2.) As a very aggressive player, TDs ought not be your forte and I'd advise you stick to tanks that are conducive to winning at brawling ranges. But the 268 has the bigger boomstick and the better camo values, which makes it a master of ambush. The 263 has good DPM and its frontal armour certainly isn't bad, and is great for bullying lower tier vehicles...but its side armour is practically nonexistent, which makes it very vulnerable in close combat with more than one vehicle. The 263 is better for aggressive play.

One piece of advice i have on the TD debate. The line to the 268 is absolutlely phenominal. The line to the 263 can be frustrating if you're too aggresive. You can't rely on the armour of the Su-101 or the SU-101m1 at all, and the T-54-122 certainly isn't much better. They play much like the SU-85 and the SU-100 do, with strong damage-dealing capabilities but little ability to soak damage

you should really look at a line for all the tanks along it because chances are good you'll be playing the tanks in tiers 8 and 9 far more than the tier 10 when you get it.

Something i feel you maybe should have said in this video as well is if you go on option in the game section you will see a option that allows you to tell the game what game mode you want (encounter, assault and standard).

To be honest, About StuG. Sturmgeschütz III is one of my favorite tank destroyer. Good damage, penetration, Decent Armour. And an accurate 7,5 cm StuK 42 L/70 (0.33) gun. I guarantee you will love it.

Heavy spall liner might be best for third option though. With those E100s shooting at you with HE, and arty wanting to wipe you out, a spall liner might be best.

Also, the Obj. 263's only other weakpoint in the front besides the lower glacis seems to be the gun mantle. I've been able to penetrate it successfully in an M48A1 and an E-100 so far. 2/2 penetrated and damaged the mantle while I was in the E-100, and 2/3 penned and damaged while I was in the M48A1. Both cases I was less than 50 meters away, so judge the effectiveness however you want XD.

True, the shield icon in the battle stats indicates the percentage of hp your vehichle had left at the end of the battle, hence the reason why every destroyed vehichle shows 0%. Also, in the battle efficiency panel, all of the enemy vehicles that you HIT are displayed, not necessarily just the ones you damaged or critted. If you mouse over the second icon from the left, you'll see the amount of damage you did to that vehicle. Some will say 0 damage, because it either didn't pen or just critted.

lol, sorry for the triple post, but it should be taken into consideration that the M48A1 penetrated the Obj. 263's gun mantle with APCR rounds of course, and the E-100 with standard AP I believe...If I'm not mistaken I didn't load gold rounds at the time.

Yeah, don't rush to tier 10. The players there suck just as badly as they do everywhere else and the tanks bleed money. Take your time and enjoy the middle tiers, it's where you learn the game so you don't end up being another one of the horde of sucky tier 10 players. Has the added bonus of getting you to tier 10 faster too, since players who suck less, get more xp.

using tank inspector I can tell you that the effective armour is not the 295 stated, but it is infact 340+ the mantel is the weakest part at 270 and the lower plates is 140+

They are there to make sure the tank doesnt move back while shooting, they can be lowered and they will dig into the ground.

I think high alpha damage is more important on TDs than rate of fire/DPM. Every time you fire, you risk exposing your position. If you can kill stuff in the fewest number of shots, you'll keep your camo effectiveness. So to me, the 268 would still be a better TD than the 263. The rear placement of the 'turret' means it's worse in corner fights and fights over hills. As you have to expose alot of your tank before you can get the gun on target.

i am wondering if this is still worth getting. i am trudging down this line, so far in the 100m1 and not having such a great time, but i hear good things about the su-122-54 which i suspect will play very similar to the 122-44 which i love and have a ton of experience driving. to me this 263 seems like the big brother of the su-76 and 85, both in design and play style. i recall liking those tanks as a noob so long ago, maybe i will like this one as well.

the shieldicon stands for the amount of hitpoints left when u died/drowned. So it says 65% because u still had 65% of ur hitpoints left when u drowned

Great Video, However I observed two things, you need to lead your shots when shooting at tanks on the move and it was funny when you said about the TD going across field, out in the open, what is he doing, When at about 24:50 you are sat in no cover shooting into the cap area, sitting in open field/road way shooting a MASSIVE TD.

you do know what that shield icon means by now? it means the health of your vehicle. there is some cases that you are grey, but the vehicle has like any number of vehicle health remaining, it means that your vehicle didn't get destroyed, but the crew of yours died, and that's why you cannot continue to play

no the hatches and the cupola are NO weakspots. Frontal weakspots: Lower glacis and gunmantle (managed to penetrate it with with 128mm KwK with only 246mm pen 2 out of 3 times) when its facehugging u try to should at the soft parts next to the gunmantle because it will penetrate and damage the ammorack.

have u noticed that objekt 263, at it's upper frontal galcis, has got this just few mm thick plate that is at the bottom of the whole upper plate(where the hooks for the cable are), if u turn td to the side u will see it, i was just wondering if that is maybe penetrable ...??
