The Name Wargaming gave this Tank is very interesting: As I'm a "native" from the region where it was built, the term "Mutz" has an actual meaning to me. "Mutz"is an old term for "Bear" (plural is "Mutzen") in my local dialect, and the Tank has a painting of a Bear on it!!!!! This is of interest as the Tank itself was never called "Mutz", only "Pz 58", so someone at Wargaming has gotten the connection between "Mutz" and "Bear right and painted/named the Tank accordingly !

I think you have misunderstood how the signal range works. To determine if your tank can communicate with an allied tank, both your signal range and the signal range of the allied tank are added together before comparing with the distance between the tanks. Thus, if other tanks on your team have good signal ranges, your signal range of 500 meters isn't that much of a problem. If I recall correctly, this is explained in the WoT wiki.

Never heard of the ELC, thanks! The Ontos just looks as it came straight from a dark, apocalyptic SciFi-Setting. Wouldn´t be surprised if it had influence on some WH40k Designs! What i find so fascinating about tanks like the Panzer VT1 and other military equipment in general is how the mindset of the specific period manifests in them with sometimes downright bizarre solutions! E.g. the T77 Multiple Gun Motor Carriage, with this turret it looks like the porcupine of doom!

It looks like some one stretched/flattened the hull of a M4a1 sherman, took the tracks from a vk 30.01 P, either rounded out the top turret on the T20 or stretched/filled out the turret on a T34-85, and took notes of American, and Japanese 90mm guns.

Pro tip: The JT88 has pre-nerf tier 9 JT front armor values, which means its LFP is significantly thicker than a tier 9 JT. It's not a spot anything with less than 220 pen is going to go through reliably.

If the Germans had an interesting tier 10 medium tank, I might be inclined to buy one as a crew trainer. But the E50M is essentially a tier 8 heavy tank, and the leopard is an ammo rack in a cardboard box. Don't need to train a crew for those lackluster end points.

Not a bad machine, the Mutz. My first (and only, as it was a rental WG gave me after a mission) battle in it, I got 1882 damage and over 1000 spotting damage, and I'm just a scrub.

"Mutz" is a bernese german word for a bear. The literal translation for "bear" is "Bär". But "Mutz" is often used as a term of endearment. edit: maybe "term of anderment" is the wrong word for it. I'm not a native english speaker. What I mean is, "Mutz" is used in a kultural kontext. For examle in a children's book where animals - even dangerous predators like bears - are trivialized. Or in the anthem of the kanton of Bern where "Mutz" refers to the bear as the heraldic beast of Bern.

Haven't read all the comments, but I've played the Mutz for a day now after watching this video. Frankly, paper does not begin to describe the armor - rice paper would be close. This tank will easily - I did it just now - be up against tier X in a heartbeat (8 of them in that battle). I held my own with 1800dmg (no premo ammo) over that battle, just sniping. But an E100 one-shot me as the sole remaining tank in the match. Put the binocs on it and it made for much better sniping, to stay out of the dog fights. Believe me, you will not win any close encounter with this armor. Playing support for the heavies has worked to a degree for me. Spotting is only on the passive side. Good speed and traverse. Handles very well. Great gun depression and aiming speed/return reticle. End of the day, not worth the money. WoT might re-think this one to make it more appealing and competitive as a true tier VIII medium.
