World Of Warcraft: Legion is the 6th expansion to the MMORPG World Of Warcraft which takes place on the new continent of the broken isles during a massive demonic invasion, In this video I'll be explaining the core features of WoW Legion as well as giving my thoughts in a review style format with and pros and cons list at the end to help you decide if World Of Warcraft Legion is worth playing, please bare in mind this review could become out of date rather quickly due to the ever-changing nature of MMORPG games so take it with a pinch of salt if you're watching in the future.

As someone who hasn't played WoW since WotLK (for reasons other then the game itself a.k.a. no money), after watching this video, I'm just jumping around with excitement for playing this game again. Even after so many years, the game looks incredible, it hasn't aged nearly as much as I thought, if at all. If anything (with a few exceptions), the gameplay has gotten much better over the years, and the community is as rich as ever. Even such a short video of it brings me back to this epic fantasy world and ignites my imagination like few other things can. Gotta give massive credits to Blizzard for keeping the game the game of my childhood alive and well even after so many years. *tips fedora :D

Its basically the same game is draenor. All that has really happened is they "Streamlined" all of the class specs aka dumbed them all down. Haven't seen anything in the expansion so far that would make me think it will be any different than the previous expansions. After the first month 90% of the playerbase will drop off again.

tab targeting is fine but no other mmos put as much effort into so they usually come off clunky. Imo, Black Deserts open combat system is the best I've ever seen and i doubt ill be able to pick something else up until Camelot Unchained comes out

I tried to play WoW numerous times in the past and always ended up quitting really early on in the game. Decided to give it another try just before Legion came out to mostly do invasions and what have you. I am so glad I gave the game another shot, since I am enjoying it greatly. Money well spent.

Personally I feel Legion is very well done it feels like TBC, WotLK and MoP wrapped into one which I love, I haven't felt this excited to play wow since WotLK everything is very well done across the board and I heard & read that Blizzard has already got 4 patches ready for the expansion which is also a good sign in it's self that goes to show they learned their lesson with WoD.

Also combat is more complex, procs, rotation, cooldowns, etc. Most action oriented games have very few skills (WildStar, Black Desert Online) and combat gets stale quick.

Wow will get old eventually. The players that play wow are returning and veteran players, and the game will never be as populated as it was back in wrath of the lich king. Give it some years and it will go buy to play and blizzard will move on to the next big project, and by that point it will just be another 'runescape'.

Super video mate, brilliantly edited too :) also, for the con - alt unfriendly, the Artifact knowledge mechanic is ramping up quickly the amount of Artifact power you can obtain after a short while.into the game. if you have an alt, level them up soon rather than later to get earning (via work orders) Blizzard have stated it can be sped up for players further behind as time goes on, so the order takes less time to complete.

Another great video! Your recent WoW videos actually got me into WOW and to buy Legion. AS a new player, it's so fun. I do feel bad I missed on all the other content, but I got told by most veteran players that I should be fine playing Legion now, level till 110 and do most content there and then make another toon and play previous expansions that are more popular. I never got to see cata, although I bought it. 2 days after cata hit the servers, my youngest baby was born. On a personal level, I think I'm still completely in love with World of Warcraft lore, but not the game at all. I've been watching numerous cutscenes (Y'sharah broke my nerd heart) and it's honestly more fun to just watch how the story unfolds, rather than actually playing the game. I was one of the World PvP fanatics during vanilla, burning crusade and wrath of the lich king - even despite flying mounts making it a pain in the ass. I really wanted to see them revamp the game into something more progressive, but it's too late for me either way. I just really look forward to following the overall story - does anyone know of any youtuber out there who uploads story driven questing from Legion? I can't be the only one who would play the game solely for that purpose.

Flying mounts weren't really a pain back then because barely anybody had epic flying because of the gold cost. That and the lack of dungeon finder really helped the game be awesome and gave you a reason to walk around old zones and keep the world populated.

yes. is something called "artifact knowledge". it allow you to get artifact power faster. look "Artifact Knowledge is a hidden currency that determines the rate at which you gain Artifact Power in Legion. There are 25 levels of Knowledge that you can research, each level adds a specific multiplier to your Artifact Power gains"

You have to grind the same amount, the only difference is that the artifact research takes 3 days if you are very behind instead of 5, which is not too big of a difference

Artifact knowledge only applies to one character. It affects one class's specs. Alts are not affected by attaining more artifact knowledge on your main. Alts will need to research their own artifact knowledge.

Order Halls are still way better than garriosns, because you'll never stay there for long anyways, you'll be busy going out and doing World Quests, prefession quests, mythic dungeons, all that sort of stuff :P

I dunno man, as good as this all is WoD broke my heart so bad I am not sure I want to commit to rejoining the game. I would need to cough up at least 65 dollars to resume playing which I do not have and I am not sure it is worth saving up for. WoW has been getting more expensive and along with its drop in overall quality I am not sure it is worth its cost anymore.

up untill now the leveling has been a blast and artifacts are awesome. world quests are fun too and the order halls are social versions of garrisons. they said they learned from WoD and are planning to keep the content coming all the way up to the next expansion.

I personally like MMO's with communities that interact with eachother, I've always found that players in W.O.W are so secluded and lonely. I remember back in the day playing runescape from 2004-2007 players would ALWAYS talk and chill and do quests together. Runescape was the ultimate MMO in terms of PVP and community back in the day. All these MMO's now are similar in that you mostly got to lone wolf shit and it makes it boring.

I haven't played the game in almost 2 years now, I personally won't return to it. It was great back in the day and had a lot of great memories, but it's not the same anymore.

I've been playing on an old WotLK private server for a while now and it's way more social than the main servers for some reason. Everybody is helping each other out, veterans dish out newbie gold, and people literally rush to the aid of others the moment they see issues. It's a different world almost. Then again, I mainly play Alliance and they have a ton of healing potential in their class/race options.

Blizz has an amazing asorment of high quality popular games and WoW is the crown jewel. It has all the options to please all kinds of players. Casual up to top 50 guilds

Hey Dude, really love your videos and especially your un-bias look at some of the aspects of Legion that others just brushed off (class order hall) and i like that you tried to include all aspects of the game including pvp, but you did neglect to mention (assumed just from lack of pvp play) the extreme lack of gear from pvp rewards, therefore forcing players to take part in the story and pve aspects of the game before jumping into pvp, which leads some pvp players really enjoying mythic dungeons and the like. Anyway thought i'd shed light on something that doesn't really get mentioned in videos. Love your stuff

well we had mop daily variety too i doubt blizzard is going to wast much time on more world quest variety they'll give us a couple new raids and continue working on the next expansion im pretty sure they already started. at this point in time it still too early to judge. imo its all new and alot of stuff to explore give it another half a year and maybe then ask yourself again is it worth it. im realy not being offensive here you cant realy judge WoW in the first couple weeks or months since its been designed to keep you busy for this long.

World quests are not "literally the same thing" as daily quests. In fact, that couldn't be a more uninformed statement. There's a number of significant differences between World Quests and daily quests that keeps World Quests fresh and is nothing like MoP: 1. World quests have no daily hubs (Like Isle of Thunder, Krasarang Wilds, Timeless Isle, or even Tol Barad or Argent Tournament / Icecrown). This means you have an entire continent to do them in. You aren't relegated to a specific zone, or even a specific area of a zone. 2. They aren't "daily". World quests have spawn times which vary. 3. They can be completed in any order / on-demand. If you don't want to go to a specific area you don't have to. Or, if you want to concentrate questing in one zone, you can. You don't have to complete 2 or 3 quests (or more) to get through a whole chain so that it properly resets the next day. You can do just one. You can do 15. In any order you so choose. 4. They have dungeon variants. So no more sitting there grinding alligators for an hour. You can go kill some bosses in a group from group finder and get a quest done. 5. Every reputation and tradeskill is represented by them. 6. There are practical rewards that rival and sometimes surpass what you can get from zone quests (for example, I have a quest right now to kill two bosses in the Maw of Souls, that can reward up to ilvl 855 pants... 25 ilvls higher than what I have on now). I've upgraded half my gear in 4 days from World quests and am sitting at ilvl 825 with only one Heroic under my belt. I've seen money rewards of up to 650g for ONE quest. There are artifact relic rewards. There are Crafting item rewards. They are very lucrative. 7. Every quest rewards rep gains for the faction it is "given by". 8. Completing 4 for a zone gives additional rewards from the "given by" faction (which is completely optional). 9. There is a tremendous variety of quests. From simple kill quests, to interactive objective quests, to defense quests, to PVP, and even pet battles... there's something for everyone. There's even a whole minion control instanced scenario that will pop up as a World quest (like the Trove of the Thunder King, but cooler, as you control an army of withered elves). 10. There are varied degrees of challenge too. If you think you can take that mini-boss, you can go for it, or start a Premade group for it (or wait for folks to show up). Or, if you just want to pretty mindlessly bombard a town of renegade Vry'kul from the back of a Stormdrake, that's out there as well. The only similarity between World Quests and daily quests, is that yes, eventually, the World Quests will repeat. But there are so many, it will take some time before you're repeating all of them enough to notice. People complained that WoD lacked content at release. Well guess what... they gave us World Quests to do, and its PLENTY.

are you able to do those world quests more then 1 time a day ? it doesnt matter where you have to go and do them they are still daily quests yes they have more variety it still doesnt make them not daily quests. if you like questing so much fine i hate questing i hated mandatory daily quests but it was fine when i was done preparing for raids, this is what the game is all about for me raids. so being forced into "world quests" day by day for the rest of the expansion to stay competitive is a huge no go for me so the cons overweight in my book. but thats just my opinion maybe i just grew out of WoW's whole concept i've been playing since early BC WoD killed the game for me and legion is not able to revive my love for WoW sadly

Wait... what? Are you able to do those world quests more than one time a day? Some... yes. Some don't show up for days. There are dozens of them that appear randomly throughout the world on (sometimes) an hourly basis. Sometimes its several hours. Sometimes you can get the exact same quest show up shortly after finishing it. It's random. Please re-read what I wrote. Your questions and concerns are already addressed or a moot issue. These are "World Quests". Not "daily quests". They are optional. You can raid all you want (once the raids come out in a week)... you DON'T HAVE TO DO THEM if you absolutely don't want to. But they are there for another form of play and "something fun" to do while you're waiting on your raid to start.

As always: The best review of an MMO out there! Great job, and thank you for your in depth thoughts and opinion. Personally I am split between wanting to enjoy WoW again, and having a hard time getting back into traditional (linear) questing and slow tap-targeting holy-trinity combat. I played until my sub ran out and I don't think I will resub since I didn't really have all that much fun playing on the Broken Isles. I'm also not looking forward to working in the gear treadmill again. That's probably just my personal preferences shifting though, because the quality of the content in Legion is definitely much better than in WoD!

I cant stand action combat games, it feels like they dumb down every mechanic so that it is easily exploitable and avoidable. It makes the experience less fun where as all I am doing is "move out of the colored spot on the ground" and you can defeat enemies that are far higher level than you.

Yea, some like it, some don't, i prefer tab targeting, but action combat feels alot more modern, fast and different. Most people that say they don't like tab targeting are probably old wow players that have just had too much of it, action combat is dumbed down that's for sure, there's a reason it's the prefered way of fighting in console rpg's.

I would not called action combat dumbed down. Instead of relying on a lot of skills, auto locking, and worrying about cooldowns. Action combat just allows you think about what skills you need and react to the movements of your target. It rewards timing, positioning, and precision. It just feels more engaging to players. It requires you to rely on different parts of your brain other than what you use for tab targeting. Not dumbed down just different.

TheBlakamon15 I find it to be easier and easier to exploit, especially coming from a heroic (later mythic) raider, getting out of things and standing in the correct places comes second nature. That is why I see it as dumbed down. With tab targeting you have to preplan what skills you are going to use, there is also the element of needing to stand still so you can cast, where as action combat games, you can just cast on the move, I can't stand that, I am glad they removed that from WoW.

TheWesnik No, it really doesn't. I would say it is the same as WoW raiding, except you can completely avoid all the damage in most of the games. It is a joke because in almost all of them you can cast and melee attack on the move, and you just keep moving, rarely is it a challenge. Take wildstar, I quit that game because it was a fucking joke how easy it was to get out of things after coming from heroic/mythic raiding in wow.

Thank you, very thorough and objective analysis. I've played WoW for years, but with the last couple expansions played for a few months and then stopped for a long time. Until watching your video I wasn't sure I was going to be in for this expansion, but it looks like the content is good enough to pull me back into the fray. I especially love PVP, but it's always been a serious drag that the PVP gear system previously felt like more of a hindrance than a help to fair play. PVP should really be about an individual player's skill with their class, and a different system should go a long way towards addressing that imbalance. I was also concerned that the move to artifact weapons would take a big part of the fun out of the game, but I think it's worth a try anyhow. Thanks again!

One minor correction: Broken Shore was pre-patch content, not future content for a later date. ;-) If you haven't done it yet, I highly recommend doing so. One of the most emotionally impactful and jarring game cinematic I've ever seen from an MMO. Also, this video was fabulous! Perfectly summed up the best and worst parts of the expansion very succinctly. Great job! Looking forward to more videos. Still desperately holding out hope for a Journey playthrough video since it's a short game and is now free on PC for PS sub. :D
