Hello! I'm the Shima captain. This game was frustrating! I was 0.8 seconds from capping the middle the first time and was trying to flood channels with torps to catch DDs or anyone else trying to be sneaky. I kept spotting ships but with the glue sniffers on the island I didn't get too much support. Honestly, this game would have gone wildly different had their CV focused me but, for some bizarre reason he never came after me. Instead I was caught by the Daring's hydro and forced out from crossfire. The Stali radar I'm pretty sure never caught any DD in range from that far back.

I don't play anymore because, Even a good player can't win by themselves! I had 40 matches in a row where no matter the ship I played, I was the top player on my team by at least double and 40 losses in a row! One game had a platoon of 3 destroyers and they were all pink, it was a tier 6 battle!

I’ve been guilty of “winning harder” many times and the problem is this; you get tunnel vision. You’re winning, the enemy is in a route and you and the team make the calculated risk to end the game quickly instead of running out the clock. Suddenly you’re out in the open with no cover being hunted down by a stealthy torpedo armed cruiser or a destroyer while the enemy BBs pick you apart at range. Oops.

I've been biffed so many times in a cruiser when I thought I was safe thanks to some jerkface in a BB 25km away that I can't even see is there, thanks to my crappy team's spotting. Seems to me people either go way wide to the outside of the map or sit and hide behind islands.

Also have a 48% WR, but I get top leaderboard on the losing side multiple times per day. Part of my stat is from when I was truly bad (learning the game), and now the other side of that coin is being a decent player who is unlucky in his teammates. I only recently hit my 1,000th game.

It seems its getting more common place for teams to throw games, recently on the EU servers it gotten alot worse for the teams just to sail all to one side of the map and die in a big long conga line one after another. I don't know if there has been a big influx of new players that have bought a brand new T8 or above ship and they just go sailing by without a care in the world but given they way they preform and have no idea how to support each other, it would seem this is the case.

@@sparda169leon from what I've heard, a good amount of those youtubers pretty much depend on the views their WoWS content gives them (combined with the codes they offer if they're part of the CC program). So, while they don't like WGs behavior, it would be "biting the hand that feeds". Of course, you can make a case that they're exchanging that for their integrity, but that's another whole matter.

Its carriers, mostly. Player stupidity is also a big factor, but mostly its carriers. Im mostly playing zao and there have been many times that ive been forced out of a flank that has less than 5-4 ships, because i see that the carrier has focused it and im a very good target due to poor AA. Carriers force people to play in groups, the bigger the better, more concentrated AA.

Every time I see DDs doing that fire when they should safely skulk away and wait for another torpedo reload it just makes me want to scream. You're winning. BBs are terrified of DDs. You don't even have to really shoot torps at them. Just stay near the cap and they'll avoid it.

For all your ranting about the AP it isn't quite so bad. It's about of par in penetration with a L/45 16" gun thanks to Italians and their fascination with huge velocities on their guns. Whilst low for a T10, it's still about the same as for example the North Carolina.

Well actually Jingles... You can run slot 6 mod for range. Range mod is available for all ships of T9/10. Next, although they are 381s, they have pretty good AP pen at all ranges, particularly in view of their caliber. They have comparable pen to Burgougne.

BB SAP don't do full pen damage to destroyers because they would do even more damage than full pen AP. Since BB AP only do overpen damage to DD in order to avoid having the BB annihilate DDs with large caliber AP, it kind of makes sense from the gameplay point of view that BB ammunions that do even more damage also do overpen damage. But then, maybe British HE should also only do overpen damage to DDs? (That last question is half joke.)

I was the Stalingrad I push to support the Colombo at the end to engage in a 2v2 but both Colombo ram putting me in a 1v1 against Ohio. Anyway it doesnt matter when you get 3 cap in epicenter with CV the team with more DD gonna win. When Elbing die the game was garantie. Even if I decided to hide the ennemy CV will have come for me. I used all my heal and tank 2.5milions.

Actually Jingles you can extend the range on the guns by using the 3 million credits range module, the one that is only available to the US BBs has a cost of 500k credits and it is in the second slot. The reason why nobody plays with the range mod is because the CC has a 40 sec reloade and it is almost mandatory to use the reload module.

Its telling that at medium range an Italian battleship, think it was G. Chesare fired and the spread of shot was so wide that HMS Belfast fit length wise in-between two splashes. The quality control on the shells was so bad there was never a really uniform size or weight for projectiles which means they would have no chance in hell of accurate fire. Also, the voice for Stephen Segal sounds like he is stoned but if he is still in the game his 75% ammo switch time was the most useful perk ever. Not played in a couple years so Im not sure now.

His pauses between firing is ridiculous, hampering his own damage output. @12:40 the guns are loaded with AP, he's detected, has a ship targeted in range, waits 15 seconds to *then* switch ammo (costing him another 8 seconds), then switches AGAIN back to AP (another 8 seconds)...then manages to finally fire and just happened to get cits.

Jingles, there is a very clear reason why Italian SAP does only 10% of damage to Destroyers. It's the same reason as why AP damage does only 10% of its alpha to destroyers, even if it hits the bow of the ship and travels through it's whole length: WHINY DESTROYER PLAYERS! That's all the reason you will get, because it's the only reason there is. When it was confirmed Italian BBs will have SAP, DDs that cannot be bothered to dodge and not sail in straight lines (aka, DO NOT RUSH BATTLESHIPS armed with 16 guns -or any number of guns for the matter-) they started crying about how unfair that would be to their poor fragile ship (let's ignore how a torp rush can nuke a BB without the poor sould being able to do anything about that because RNG and long reload). The only thing I sympathise with the DDs here is, however, the very nature of SAP shells. Because they can 'rarely' to almost never overmatch, they will do 33% of the alpha of the SAP shell, which is even greater than the alpha of the AP shell. So, yeah, getting hit by half of a SAP broadside of a Colombo would suck massively for a DD that cannot dodge and eats all the shells. BUT I still see no reason why AP shells should always do 10% of the damage, no matter how it hits.

It's because BB players consistently erase DDs no matter what the DD player doesn't if either the SAP or AP gets full pen. BOTH overmatch every single part of a DD. So you don't have to aim, you just blat the DD anywhere, and get a full pen most of the time (because overpen was rare on DDs, despite the mechanics supposedly saying otherwise). So just willy-nilly shooting with AP consistently did more damage to a DD than being a 'good" player and switching to HE. It meant that BB players didn't have to bother to look at the map, see situations and load the right shell. They could just count on using AP all the time. SAP, with its monstrous Alpha, is similar. It's not about DD players not having to learn angle. It's that angling was completely irrelevant when faced with BB AP. The old way said you showed broadside and ate 5 overpen or angled and ate 2 pens. Same damage. So there was no counterplay possible. And no one yolos BBs in open water. You only get rushed by a DD if you, the BB player, have screwed up and ignored island positioning. In which case you DESERVE to get rushed for crappy positioning play.

I had a standard battle the other day playing Yamato that my team was making me scratch my eyes out. Edinburgh and Z-46 decided it'd be a good idea to chase a Petro down cuz it was low health. Imagine how long it took them to FINALLY kill the guy. During all that time they could've capped out the base but no instead they LEAVE the cap, and one of the remaining enemy DDs was in ours. Now both teams had a Saipan, so you could imagine it'd be hard to cap out cuz of that simple factor. But no I literally had to tell our CV who was far closer to our cap than the opponents to GO AND RESET THEIR DD WHO HAD ALREADY BEEN IN OUR CAP FOR 90 SECONDS. Dude was literally flying a squadron across the map to attack the Petro. Guy had an attitude to. Said "I have my own things to worry about over here" Lol no you don't genius that's a Friesland sitting in our cap and that's the closes threat to you to. Wasn't too shocking to see that though considering when the enemy was pushing through on the flank he spawned on someone else on the team had to tell his ass to move. Literally a Gearing within spotting range of him if only their wasn't Icebergs in the way. BBs over there would've loved to see it to. Tells that guy "Fiiine..." Wasn't shocked to see only 300 games played with 45% W/R... Sigh. Wallet Warrior that one. Majority of his ships were high tier Premiums.

It's actually best to give broadside to elbing AP in a DD. Because they all overpen. But if you angle, they do full pen damage, unless you extremely angle in so much that you can't shoot your back guns

"Italian battleship semi-armour piercing only does 10% of its potential damage against destroyers for reasons that have never been made clear to me." It's because all battleship AP works like that due to destroyer players throwing a tantrum a few years ago because they hated the fact that if a shell enters the bow of a ship, activates its arm timer, continues to travel inside the ship length-wise, and the arm timer runs out before the shell exits via the stern, the shell would arm inside the ship and deal pen damage. Since destroyers are the most entitled players in the game, they threw their tantrum until Wargaming literally made them immune to being anything but overpenned by battleship AP no matter how the shell travels through the ship.

It's not the Italians, it's Wargaming. There were plenty of reasons to use 16in guns on the Tier 10. The Colombo is essentially a 1910's (Ferrati) design with late 1930's technologies. Against ships with 40's/50's technologies. The stupidity of this design process is from WG alone.

I love it and enjoy the content and have been watching for like 4 years now, but Jingles has the uncanny ability to pick the most triggering videos. I am and have been about as excited for Italian BBs since they were announced as a horrific STD. I think I’m STILL on the T-7 and can’t stand to play it. The biggest thing I enjoy about that ship is to see just exactly where my shells go because it never hits anything that I’m aiming at.

Hmm, get some captain points, fit in the accuracy module (there's no reason to build into their secondaries, especially module wise) and play it a bit mid to long range at the start of the game. I was frustrated like Hell with it, especially since I did not have a 10pointer for Italy to spare, so I had to rely on a 3pointer and later a Santa 6 pointer (which is now at 7 points). I wouldn't say it beats my Sinop, but Caracciolo has found its way into my desolated heart. I've got some pretty good games in it, even when bottom tier. While not sure, against the new KM DDs you may be better off showing broadside to it in a DD as it's shell tend to just over pen where if you are angled they don't.

I know he had a great game, but it's BBs like this that farm damage on the edge of epicenter games that drives me insane, especially as a DD trying to play the objective. But good on him that it (barely) worked out.

I was trying to support the team in the way I knew I could, this was only the second game in the ship, I knew I had a low health pool so was hoping tanker ships with better consumables could help the DDs. But yeah I should have been closer to the center to provide support against the DDs.

I wish this video surprised me, but I've been playing for 6 years and I've never need seen player win rates as low as I'm seeing now. Until recently, I'd never seen a player with a win rate below 30% and I've seen two in as many weeks; I honestly didn't think this was possible. It's truly shocking how bad the new players are in comparison to what I've experienced before now, it can't go on like this for much longer.
