That's the beauty of WoWS and WoT. Both games are an utter pain to play (WoWS slightly less so) but when presented by our favorite gnome overlord both games are very amusing to watch. I don't think the old man has let us down with a boring replay even once, or that's how I fel atleast.

As for that ranger: Jingles, you just provided the answer a few minutes before: Most players do not have good minimap awareness, so it's entirely possible that that Ranger was just steaming along on autopilot, tunneling on his planes and completely failing to notice that he was heading into a crumbling flank.

If you can walk and breathe at the same time you have the brain capacity to look at the red icons on you map mode when you place the autopilot marker. It's no excuse. But sadly this game is played in it's majority by sub 75IQ people, so...

The Ranger player was defo on auto pilot being honest could only think he thought flank was going to fall with only being Aletico charging on. However his pathing was wayward which cost him dearly. Mock as peeps may like oh it’s an AC shouldn’t be in game . Well guess what go play something else as trust me I do get a lot of thanks when doing everything possible to support .

@@juankovacs6033 Duh - seeing as breathing is largely an autonomous body function that requires little to no conscious effort do, most people have the capacity to breathe and do other things at the same. It's a silly analogy and it irritates me to no end when Jingles and others insinuates that the ability to "think and breathe at the same time" is the only prerequsite to be a good WOWS player. Maintaining a constant overview of a WOWS battle, have an accurate intutition of how it's going to develop AND handle your ship and guns/aircraft all at the same time is by no means an easy thing to do and it requires the sort of brain you'd typically find at an air traffic controller (I don't think anyone will argue that ATC is an easy job!); it requires a lot of conscious practicing as you play and alot of theory study when you don't. Considering that most people play games to relax after a hard day of using their mental and physical capacities to do actual work, it's not surpricing at all that most people don't really fancy straining their capacities any futher in an effort to live up to the expectations of a minority of insufferable try-hards like yourself that litter just about every MMO game out there. That doesn't mean they are stupid; that doesn't even mean they are lazy. It means they have chosen to prioritize their time and enegy differently than you.

@@troelshansen6212 my man, if you play this game enough to have ships above tier 6 you should by that point learn something. At least to see where the f* you are placing your marker for the autopilot. If the CV had the enough mental development to see the flank he was is falling, he surely had to know that the other side was falling as well. Please, it's not applied physics playing this game, you just have to pay attention at 3 things at the time (which is the basic prerequisite to be able to have any job).

@@juankovacs6033 - the CV auto pilot does weird shit sometimes. Go to map view, select a location - auto pilot plots a course - which is how it is supposed to work. Sometimes when you click on a zone in the minimap to highlight something for the team - the auto pilot decides that is a good spot to go to as well. Besides T6 is still low tier, most peeps at T6 don't have a clue no matter what ship they are in. You can grind to a T6 ship in a day after all, even when you are clueless. Not saying the ranger driver is clueless, haven't looked at his stats. edit: actually, did just look him up - he is a very new player, 222 games in total - just 30 in a cv (25 in Langley). He is expected to do idiotic things.

The idea behind the engine power getting cut when on the border is to make it undesirable to hump the border. WG thinks: “People won’t border hump because they don’t want to slow down” What they fail to realise, is you’ve got nowhere to go anyway, so it doesn’t matter how slow you go when you’re trying to survive. What it does do, is when people accidentally run into the border, because maybe we’re too focused on aiming or something, it then takes AGES to get off the border because your engine power is cut.

We proposed another thing - create a 1km zone around the border, where you cannot heal and your screen will blink with red border (like in trackmania knockout etc). If you would hit a borderline nevertheless, you would have a countdown shown (15-40s based on ship type), after which you would "die to mines" and your hp and kill would get credited to the last enemy doing damage to you (similar to detonation mechanic). THIS would reduce borderhumping, because no heals are tough and some ships like CVs and CAsare actually using such mechanics to tank insanely long.

Just today had a game in the Ise. Was focused on the planes, so set the autopilot to turn the ship around close to the border. Once it got close (but not ON the border), autopilot decided "guess I'll die then" and manged to thoroughly wedge the ship there, turned off the throttle and gave up. Took me a good 5 minutes to get off the damn thing, plenty of time to get thoroughly broadsided...

@@RealTanku Autopilot doesn´t work, so we need to steer manually, yet wargaming repeatedly refuse to give players control off their ship while having planes in the air. Because WG repeatedly decided that CVs are most often piloted by braindead idiots and therefore nothing too important for them is allowed. And hybrids suffer alongside partly

The funny thing is that the Ranger still was worth more than that Gajada since if the enemies that had been chasing the Nagato actually kept focus on him, they would have taken it out sooner and the NC would be facing a 3 on 1. But they saw the Ranger and went full nuts trying to kill him.

The Ranger was retreating because the Weser was focusing him, trying for a CV snipe. The Ranger is extremely vulnerable to the rocket planes and the Ranger doesn't know how to protect himself. He just sent the ship west, and then focused on flying. You can see him turn around when I realizes that flank is folding.

I’ve had the privilege of climbing aboard the USS North Carolina and going inside the forward gun turret. She’s a gorgeous battleship and it’s quite an awe-inspiring experience to walk through her corridors and see what one of these ocean-going behemoths were actually like.

It's not. I occasionally go back and play for a few days to see. It still has brief stretches of fun, but it's mostly frustrating now. The gameplay has been over-saturated with special modules and a proliferation of incessant borg-spotting aircraft harassment. Team wins are often decided by who has the more capable CVs on their team, and you'll regularly get stuck with the dummies. It's just not as enjoyable as the first couple years after the game's release. The stupid player ratio also increased over time, too. Seems like some of them, in every match, is trying to lose.

Love the NC! Though I have mine setup for AA, which usually surprises the hell outta enemy CVs. (AA = 89 on my NC) Video indicated Darthen was firing HE all the time, but those shells sure acted like AP. But, I must confess, I've had poor results using US AP shells when compared to the HE shells. Regardless, well done Darthen!

On the actions of the Ranger: Looking at the enemy planes, he was spotted by the Weser early on and seemed to have been driven towards the collapsed flank by him. Very well played by the Weser if so, at least for that early move.

North Carolina is my favorite museum ship. Several years ago I went on board an hour before close and I was like the only one there. Went from one end to the other and recorded the trip as I walked. It was really cool to have the ship to myself and enjoy without anyone to spoil it. My second favorite is Wisconsin as she's the longest Iowa class battleship by 9 inches, and third would be Intrepid.

An easy fix... after one minute or so You start loosing health. And is not difficult to implement since is the same mechanics used in the special battles done before (octagonal battle arena with the strange DDs)

It doesn't stop you from continuing but does stop heals, and if you continue for another km you 'die to mines'. People'd probably do it rather than give up damage because they're petty jackholes, but it'd be better than border humping.

Well, the CV is from Revelstoke, BC, Canada. Beautiful country, but a tiny little berg in the middle of nowhere. He likely has no idea what a CV is for... "What's a CV?" Split the difference and have a sort of building-up meter that accumulates while hugging the border and slowly goes down when not touching the border, where the meter only deals temporary damage that slowly heals itself as it goes down?

I realize this has NOTHING to do with this video, but, I spent a day, stuck in bed, with some seasonal nastiness, and watched Queen Elizabeth II's State Funeral, live on BBC, from beginning to end (here in Massachusetts, it started at 0400hrs). Jingles- you MUST have been Extremely Proud of the Royal Navy's Ratings and their Front and Center role in this most poignant and special occasion!! I'm a USAF Veteran and we always got grief from other Branches for our Parade/Dress and Appearance in Class A's (Our Blues as they are called). I was utterly mesmerized by the whole spectacle- the absolutely perfect Cadence and Precision was a delight to behold! Too bad it wasn't under other circumstances. Soooo, I guess it's onto- God Save The King! Do you have any thoughts about this, whether the State Funeral or, Charles III? And, as usual, a great choice for today's game.

similar thing happened to us a week ago. we had a yamato on our team apparently on some personal HE farm mission, refused to swap to AP to secure kills on some t8 and t9 cruisers and they HE spammed him to death while giving full broadside. they need to remove the win/loss bonus in randoms. It sucks when you have a great game but end up getting focused by sub or CV or maybe just can only tank so much, and end up going down mid/late game to see team mates who 100% can close out a W throw it away.

I hate how the USN standards are unfairly maligned as being slow when its due to entirely how the US did speed tests vs the UK the US did speed tests under full load and the UK did them under as light a load as possible, the standards under battle conditions where just as fast as the QE class battleships which is why they were put into the fast battleship squadrons

Very easy solution to players that like to border hump: if a ship does not make an attempt to fully enter the map after 2 mins, the ship begins taking unrepairable damage until it does. As an insurance that the player doesn't return to the border again, a penalty is assessed the ship and it will again begin to take damage at a faster rate.

As a USN BB fan, it's either the NC or the Iowa that are my favorite tech tree BBs. Montana is just more of the good that was the Iowa so I don't usually count it.

I fix computers, and when someone brings in one that's not operating right, I tell my customer "It's running like a dog with three broken legs." you'd think out of the most obvious mechanics in the game, the "I don't have long range torpedo's" mechanic in Destroyers would be the most obvious, if your torpedo's aren't good, then use the part of your warship THAT IS EFFECTIVE.

USN BB player, best ones are: Raw numbers, capability; Montana Fun; North Carolina Comfortable, historic; Iowa I love all three and will never sell. Despite owning Missouri, Massachusetts, Alabama, Kearsarge, still sail the Iowa and NC on occasion.

My favorite US BB when I still played was the Texas followed by the Georgia, NC, and then Montana. I don't know why, but I was really good in the Texas. Playing it actually made me a better player all around. People should spend more time playing the slow BBs. They forced me to be much more methodical and calculating since there's no running away if you find yourself in a bad position and sitting at the back of the map isn't really an option since the Tier 5 maps are smaller than high tier.

As someone who played us navy battleships as my first battleship line I feel wargaming adding a second line of slow battleships is a cruel trap for new players. I can’t imagine having never got the joy of finally unlocking a battleship that could actually move with a sense of urgency because I thought the other line looked cooler than the North Carolina

I have him muted and on my black list because of his attitude in a game a couple of years ago. He played like that then in a cruiser and played the blame game when he got killed. @Jingles It happens that my dads side of the family is from Loosduinen and that's next to Kijkduin who formed a community together from 1811 till 1923. Kijkduin is a little village along the sea just south of The Hague. And these days it's part of the city of The Hague. The name Kijkduin is formed from 2 words Kijk (look/to look) and Duin (dune). Kijk is pronounced as Dyke with a K. Easy. Duin... hmm well I can't think of any word in English that has this 'ui' sound. So just say Kijkdune. Close enough. Or enter Kijkduin in google translate set it on dutch and press play. :)

There are 2 moments in my NC that really stick out to me, Both of which happened either late in open beta or early launch. 1, In an early game after unlocking the NCs second hull I found myself at the tender mercy of a Taiho and amazingly I was actually able to defend myself pretty well with the combination of AA and manuverability I only took 2 torpedo hits and survived the battle. 2, On the North map one day I was on the eastern flank which was still 1 solid island at the time and decided to push up and try and threaten the enemy cap or get a crossfire. Unfortunately a division of Fubukis back when Fubuki was T8 where also on that flank and decided to make me their punching bag. I spent the entire battle juking this way and that and dodged at least 90 torpedoes and killed one of the DDs that got so frustrated they tried a suicide charge. We won that battle as well thanks in no small part to the 3 enemy DDs who spent almost the whole game trying to kill one BB. Damn that ship could turn and burn back then She's still one of my favorites.
