World of Warships Blitz - Soviet premium battleship "Lenin" review

Since we're waiting for a Russian / Soviet BB line, and I still need some more testing with the Shikishima, let's take a look at another Soviet premium BB that's actually been out for a while, the clearly Nelson-inspired Lenin.

Ty for the Lenin review, was very informative. In reference to the Nelson AP rounds, I find them to be very very effective at ranges of 8km or less and recommend using them as such. ~ TheWiseFool

Depends on what I'm shooting at, haven't used Nelson AP in a while. Maybe if it's a French BB :) But I found them underwhelming early on, realised I can citadel with HE, and haven't looked back.

I actually quite enjoy the Lenin. The dispersion isn’t that bad in my opinion but that might also be because of all the horror stories I’ve heard about it’s dispersion. I guess it’s all about keeping your expectations low so you won’t be disappointed lol

Yeah, I heard those as well. The precise aim 3, when active, makes her really viable at range imo, and when you can hit the deck from above, the low pen isn't that bad. The bane of my existence in this thing are Bismarcks. I just can't scratch them.

Loved the review because I have always been intrigued by Lenin and I really want to play her and ngl part of that reason is to prove to people she isn't a bad ship XD. Also I noticed that you hit only 2 shells on that Endinburgh that's because you aimed too high. With RU BBs you have to aim like at or just below the waterline Also rufflestomp medal made me lol

I've noticed that some ships seem to be "aiming high" or "aiming low", I've mostly attributed it to the dispersion ellipsis. I tend to play a wide variety of ships, so it's rather hard to get used to the finer details of a particular gun, compared to when you play hundreds or thousands of battles in a single ship.

Very true French BBs you have to aim for the moon to hit your shots XD. It's just about figuring out approximately how high or low you need to aim. I manage to figure that out relatively quickly which is nice

Forget tier 8 premium battleships, what this game is sorely lacking is tier 7 premium British battleships. And I love how you won that first battle in spite of the best efforts of your teammates not to.

I have a request for a video about dodging torp bombers in the upper tiers. I can deal with some players, but there are quite a few CV players that can consistently hit my DD and take half my HP in the first two minutes. Running in tight circles seems to help, in that they will spend more time lining up but it’s far from the solution I’m looking for.

So Terry, what tier 7 ships would you recommend? I would like some easy to play, not "mad skills" ships. Also, the Lenin seems like a very potent ship to go against. Will you do a video where it's maxed out? with full captain and other stuff....

Given her rep, I was actually expecting worse. Not a great ship, but a fun one in her own way. Now, recommendations - depends very much on what you like :) Off the top of my head, I love the Hood, Shchors, Sims, Atlanta... Brooklyn is a surprisingly good light cruiser once you got used to her, Gneisenau & Scharni can be fun, but it all depends on your playstyle and preference - one person will love a certain ship, another one will hate the same one.

IDK. I've heard a lot of bad stuff about her, and maybe my expectations were low, but it's not a terrible ship. The precise aim 3 really turns her into a viable long-range option, the turret traverse is good. If this was my kind of playstyle, she'd be a ship I'd consider.

Got it on the first event for free.. did honour missions, sold it.. very bad t8 Poltava is good t7 Up to t8 from what is known now the techtree is not as on pc.. aa sucks.. very large targets.. not sure i like that.. after nerfs italian sap-ca‘s are imo also useless grind to t10.. and its questionable if t10 is worth it if you can have moskva or des moines 😂 We will see what they bring.. lenin is poop 💩 😂

It's hard for a BB line to distinguish themselves - with DDs or cruisers, you can mix in smokes, torps, and get all kinds of different playstyles. With BBs, it's big guns, with slight deviations in calibre, penetration etc. For me, the most distinct (and fun) BB line is still the German one - sitting at cap and mostly missing at 15km range every 23s is just not for me :)

If you want a Nelson-like design, you may as well go with Nelson :) You get a tier lower, but no ship skills in return. T8 is a rough tier for a BB to stand out. Roma, Richie, Tirpitz, Bismarck... if you were in the market for a competitive T8 premium BB, I'd honestly go Richie or Roma these days.
