See, while you're not wrong about any of that, game design-wise I can't help but feel that players should never be encouraged not to fight in a game about combat. As a means of staving off defeat, sure, but avoiding combat should never be how you win.

To be fair, despite what you see in KZbin videos, it usually works. Also, a quick victory with 5 or 6 enemies left doesn't provide a lot of XP and credits unless you were particularly good/lucky.

The two are not the same. Warships has a capture mode where the game ends rapidly with capping. So you can frequently be in a situation of nearly winning with a substantial amount of enemy fighting power still left, which makes a "kill all" strategy dangerous. In tanks capping can be laborious. If you can cap win, sure there are almost equal situations, but your team much more frequently have overwhelmed the enemy. Given that Tanks is set up without heal, which means damage stats much more accurately measures a player's performance, it's much more natural to not want to miss out on the end game damages in Tanks as opposed to Warships.

imho the 3-point style gamemode in WoWS tends to end too quickly without a chance for comebacks. The combination of cap points and kills giving points just makes it really unforgiving for teams that do badly early on.

@@wolfchacer0139 Not 'torpedoes' - a *torpedo ram*. It was a class of ironclad ship from the days - around the time of the Battle of Lissa - when a ram on the front of a ship were thought to be important given that the new levels of armour meant that the old-style guns were largely obsolete.

@@wolfchacer0139 The Thunderchild was described very inconsistently in the novel. She was called a torpedo ram by the narrator when she moved in to attack the tripods. During the actual battle and in the description of her she looked and behaved more like an ironclad like HMS Devastation; a low freeboard battleship who's primary weapons were guns and a ram bow instead of torpedoes backed up by a ram bow. Illustrations in later versions would portray her as a Majestic class pre-dreadnought battleship.

*actually Jingles* the only reason the Lexincton managed to do two strikes under active AA fire was because of the type of squadron- torpedo bombers have an active heal which for a couple seconds basically makes any AA irrelevant. If it was the bombers (as you could see later as he tries to take on Venezia) or strike aircraft they would be wiped out

My Worcester gets really banged up especially with the rocket planes of Midways even with dfaa. Also in 1 game I saw a DM being toyed around by a hakuryu effortlessly with torpedo bombers. Mind you that DM player is actually good. Based on my experience mostly playing an AA focused ship, aa and especially dfaa in general doesn't really do much to shoot down t10 cv planes unless the cv player is just bad and doesn't avoid flak. I have no problem shooting down t8 cv planes though just like in this vid. I still honestly feel that CV as a class is op based on my experience playing against it and playing on it.

@@mangatom192 you are not meant to effortlessly shoot down CV planes in one ship. I already explained this in one of previous videos. It is much much much harder to evade flak from 2 ships then from one. You can reliably predict flak from ome ship, but flak from 2 ships is much harder to predict and your planes arent maneuverable enough to dodge 2 ship flaks. Flak power grows exponentially

Actually Jingles - AA mounts still have HP and after 2M potential damage, a ton of them are in less then stellar conditionso the full AA capability will be quite bad towards the end. DAA only works if you have AA to shoot from the start... easil seen by pressing the ship info button and looking at the AA condition of the ship in question.

It's worth pointing out that by the time the carrier started attacking him, most of his AA guns had probably been destroyed by the HE spam from the Mogami and hits from the Georgia. That said, Thunderer's AA isn't great I've found...no idea why they gave it def AA consumable.

I'm not joking, at all, when I say this. To fix carriers, WG need to return Carrier capacities, and DefAA needs to disperse the accuracy of drops again. Beyond that, the future maximum of 4 tier IV carriers per match, is needed and I'm happy they noticed. But the addition of an automatic fighter consumable for tier IV carrier wings would also help (activated withing a certain range of enemy strike wings).

The issue I have with the over pen mechanic is IRL if a shell that large over pens it still leaves a gaping big hole in the ship an the shell will often cause flooding because if it over penned there is only two things that can happen: shell goes all the way through punching out below the water line, or shell detonates late an highly impacts the structural integrity of the ship. In short over pen is stupid. It takes the one thing having big guns gives you and then slaps you in the face with damage that is far lower than advertised.

About the uselessness of defensive AA, it's hard to tell from just looking but considering the amount of dmg taken by the Thunderer, alot of it HE, my guess is that alot of Kattins AA guns where in fact knocked out when the enemy CV decided to move in, just an observation.

Chesihire is a Drake With 6x234mm. AP is ok, but as soon somebody angles a little at range it loses a lot of penetration. With only 6 guns HE might be a little more safe. P.S.seems like there were a good reason for him to rush the Georgia. The CV was right behind. Not only did he kill the Georgia... he did also save the carrier.

As long as games keep relying on the "more points more rewards" system the Min/Max crowd will always fuck your games up. Stat crunchers and xp maximizers have turned games from just a fun battle into a more political brawl. Great video Jingles as always but remember most of what you said will fall upon Deaf ears as risking it all for 300 extra xp is worth everything to the Min/Max crowd, and they WILL throw games trying.

Actually, Jingles, the Yugumo was surface spotted, not air spotted. Look at how close it is to the Venezia that killed it at 7:26. Or possibly the Tashkent (probably island blocked though). Just to be sure, I rewound it to earlier times when there were no aircraft around.
