The lengthy bows are designed for good sea keeping in very heavy seas, which the Russian Navy would have faced almost constantly. The long bow and large breakwaters allow the vessel to shed water over the side quickly as the bow digs in and punches through the swell on the other side of the trough. Later design allowed for the pointier front bow which acts life a knife and slices through.

When I see a red BB: Japanese BB - at 25 km, this is AT BEST a long distance relationship. American BB - Jack of all trades they say, huh? All I hear is master of NONE! French BB - We NEED to slow this relationship down. German BB - Sticks and stones may break my bones, but your secondaries better not kill me. Russian BB - DON'T STAND SO CLOSE TO ME! (Call the police plz)

This ship is long because it is made to sail fast, and is therefore relatively thin, when you look at water displacement, then use the "unused space as you call it" is used to give enough water displacement, so it in fact, a ship will not be a submarine :-) had they made the ship shorter, they had to make it wider, and it had made the ship slower, they could of course have given it a bigger engine, but then more weight in the ship, and one larger engine burns more fuel, which in turn increases weight .. It can therefore not have all the benefits, without it costing anything, maybe they should have given it smaller guns? then there will be some who complain about this, so it looks like this because it has to look like this, considering the specs that is on this (paper / blu print) ship ..

North Carolina did 28kts. Bizmarck did 30kts. Alabama was shorter than both and as wide as the NC but shorter than both and still did 27.5kts. Making it shorter doesn't necessarily mean wider nor more or less armor. Displacement also depends on the weight of the ship and not just the size. The weight of the ships is determined by everything that is installed inside the ship i.e., compartments, engine, turrets, and armor. Would the space have been unused? obviously, it would have been used for something, but to base it on it needing a bow like that for the displacement to go fast doesn't really make sense. If that was true there would have been a lot more battleships being built the same way.

The downside of this being a brawler with average AA's and secondaries is that there are other ships which do it better....

They should add a Hel or at least a lesser change to catch a fire but yeah better and more heals would be nice... At late I seen with my Vladivostok more Yamahato then I would wish for

Thanks for the video. I have played hundreds of Battles on Bismark, Amagi, Massa and few on North Carolina and starting with Vlad. Vlad just feels like it's tanky but doesn't match Bismark and Massa on close range with 10+KM secondary. Vald is overall a good ship to play against the higher tier IX and X in sniper mode. Amagi is more sharp and has higher DPS on long range and close range, Bismark does the job. Massa is still the best in Tier VIII but a Premium ship. It's worth going for Kremlin.

I think you play in wrong. Don't play it like a Bismark or Massa, use it more like the American lines, while staying away bit far away from Cruisers
