Thanks for showing my replay @sealordmountbatten it was a truly exceptional match for this ship. My commander build is a standard full survival Yamato build. Sorry I kept looking around so much. How close the match was had me nervous while trying not to beach myself lol.

I did 212k damage in t6 game using Graf spee with 6 kills..was a lot of fun

Nice that's big for a Graf spee. I managed 252k in t5 Murmansk and literally set a world record. Was also fun!

I adore my Ashitaka; not only is she a good looking ship, but I find it has some of the most reliable gunnery at T7. Sure, japanese dispersion is what it is, but I find there is rarely much to complain about with this ship; it is consistent. Its damage is consistent and satisfying, but it can just as easily be beaten back. I find her very fun and gratifying to play

it does, the Bungo line has good dispersion on their own, but their special consumable makes the dispersion really good

It was the opposing team's other Colorado that burned down the New Mexico, not the HE firing Colorado the Ashitaka was shooting at. I have noticed more and more BBs just using HE regardless of their overmatch potential. Mathematically I am not sure they are wrong either. Overpens are so prevalent that the consistency of HE, particularly accounting for perma fires on ships with over taxed DCP and the fact HE doesn't care at all about angle of impact likely means HE is simply superior to AP for all ships as the default ammo.

Ashitaka has always been one of my go to ships, apart from Ark. I usually abuse it by divving up with a T6 CV. That ensures I NEVER see a T9 ship. It's pretty competitive even when up tiered and downright OP when top tier. Imagine facing this thing driving an Omaha 😂😂

Meh, I don't really like the ship. The guns are great for the tier, but the armour is quite bad. Compared to Amagi, you'll do better when top tier, since bad armour doesn't matter much against tier V, but much worse when bottom tier, as you'll suffer a lot against tier IX. And in an Amagi, against tier X, the guns are still strong. It's not that Ashitaka is bad, it's that Amagi is more consistent and reliable. Besides, for tier VII Japanese BBs, there's Hyuuga, which is much better. Also, you said Nagato's guns aren't as accurate as Ashitaka's: it's the other way around. They have the same dispersion, but Nagato has better sigma at 2.0, against Ashitaka's 1.8.

Can't say i blame the Colorado for firing HE, those Cannons are not quite as accurate as i remember them being. Been getting uptiered alot trying to get some XP to start the Hybrid Line. Still its clearly a TIER 7 match, so WHY would you load HE?! Your top tier for god sake!

Hidden Gem? Yeah sure, but only when the guns decide to actually hit anything. Which is rather rare at least with my Ashitaka. Maybe yours is built different though. All these enemy players driving flat broadside to me just to get away with a couple of overpens are still hunting me in my nightmares..

Depends, if you are trying to citadel a paper armor T5 or T6 cruiser then yes you will over pen. Those are 410mm, not 356mm. Hit at angled cruisers and you will get citadels at almost every angle. Or try hitting slightly below the waterline at broadside cruisers so that your shells are slowed down by the water before hitting the hull. That ensures lesser chances of overpens

6:30 Terrain indicator does NOT lie. It indicates artillery trajectory from the MAIN RANGFINDER, which is located high over the Bridge mostly or over very top mast. Whereas projectile trajectory has much lower startpoint. If you change binoculars aiming point between main rangefinder and turret (forward/astern) rangerinders, you will notice the diffrence in terrain indicator behaviour. That's ofcourse have to be calculated in function of dispersion, which - sometimes - crashes projectile into obstacle 'cos shell's delivery (flying) path differs from perfect (calculated) trajectory.

This wasn't as fun when this was the tier 8 amagi A hull and you had yamatos firing at you 😂 however these do have tier 8 Amagi guns but use ww1 shells (think the type 89 shells) which are the same shells the mutsu gets. Not as effective as the ww2 shells that the current amagi gets.

@@bodan1196 it's my replay and my fault. I was constantly looking around for other ships because I was nervous about the flow of the match and also trying not to beach myself constantly. If I had known others were gonna watch, I definitely wouldn't have looked around so much lol.

And it was in the very beginning, before the battle started, when the mouse was... gesticulated a bit more than would allow for a good look at the ship... no worries, and no hate. Ashitaka played so cautiously I'm surprised they won. Example: He should have supported his Jarvis ally at A against L Tarigo. And no one was even shooting at him. sigh! Per standard, he leaves A and lets DD get it. Not impressed. Sorry.
