Thomas also known as Didymos. The person who doubted on Jesus resurrection. He came to India in AD 52. He brought the Gospel to India and even build 7 and a half church in South India. All those seven church are in Kerala and the half church is in Mylapore near chennai.

India had Christians before europe called Nasranis who were the people of St. Thomas. Later they had a fight with europeans like portugese and british and started a revolt (first one against colonial rule in India). They have very interesting history

Bro nice video. St Thomas was believed to have reached India in AD52 in the coast of Kerala. We believe that 8 churches were built during his time, 6 in Kerala and 2 in Tamil Nadu. He was buried in Chennai but he started Christianity mainly in Kerala. That is why it is believed that kerala was one of the first places in the world where Christianity was introduced. Judaism came to kerala much before that. Even Islam was introduced in Kerala long back.

Showing interest in 1950 Yr old history is great, coz its associated with Religion, but ignoring the history of the very native people and their language, culture etc which is almost 3000 yrs older than that ( according to today's estimates) is utter stupidity. Although religion is prevalent around the world, most countries give so much more importance to history and archaeology to find their scientific identity. But in India most of the times if a Christian or a Muslim is fighting for an issue, its always about his religion.. Why not for the country's history and its real identity.?

One of the disciples of Jesus christ viz. St. Thomas landed in kerala in A D 52. He had converted the already existing judes who were there from B C 100 to christians and other local hindus also. Then he had gone to chennai to preach christianity and in mylapore he was murdered by some fanatics. His body was buried in st. Thomas mount in Mylapore and not at santhom church at the mareena beach.

Nicole had missed a historic place called St.Thomas pole.It is a tall pole fixed on the square 6feet high concrete platform., which can be seen from the side road of the St.Thomas church facing the beach.It can also be seen from the beach towards church. It is said St.Thomas had prayed and planted the pole commanding "In the name of Jesus no flood must go beyond the pole to flood the church To our surprise most of the people all around the church died of tsunami excepting those who were in & around the church.and the tsunami never crossed the pole. Why bother unable to take video.!!?? You...You tuber can refer so many videos about the basilica.
