WORLD'S BEST APPLE PIE in Amsterdam from Winkel 43 - Crunchy, Crumbly, & Juicy (Appeltaart)!!

I was so excited to visit The Netherlands and Amsterdam for the first time around the US Thanksgiving period in late November 2019. I have never been a huge apple pie fan, even though my homeland (the US) is known for it. However, I can always appreciate a great crust and fruit fillings, as I love to bake and have made loads of pies.
Well, Winkel 43 changed all that. The reviews as you can read on Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Google are phenomenal, but the actual experience of eating Winkel 43's apple pie (appeltaart) still outdid all that. It was truly love at first bite of their appeltaart!!
What made it so delicious?
Well, you have to watch! But in short, the crust was so unique and had this out-of-this-world crunch that it could have been an amazing dessert or snack just on its own. The way there were HUGE chunks of fresh apples inside made this the best apple pie ever!
Plus, the cafe is in an incredible location in the Jordaan neighborhood of Amsterdam: it is flanked by street markets, gorgeous canals that are a hallmark of Amsterdam, and is just down the road from Anne Frank's house; you cannot visit Amsterdam and NOT visit this area. Plus, the cafe is always filled with locals and tourists alike, so you know this place is legit!
Winkel 43 is definitely a top highlight for any local or traveler to The Netherlands and Amsterdam. It will completely change your mind about what an Apple Pie has the potential to be.
