The story behind the 2st long song is the next: KAC Kenitra is a club in Marocco. In the past a group of their support visited a match in the capital, most of them were young guys. Their believes and ideas were against the politicall views and they shown it by means of banners and songs. During that visit their was an attack on them while they were in the away stands, local Police didn't protect them! They were attack with weapons like knives, hamers etc. many were killed. After it happend they tried to get those guilty to get sentenced but found they plea neglected cause of corruption. It was orgastrated by the government. That's why they are so out spoken in their lyrics. They hate their government and the club where it all happened.

And the lyrics still apply to pretty much every Ulras group. The police and the media still don't get the difference between Ulras and Hooligans. Personally I don't consider myself an Ultra, just a passionate fan, but I'm friends with many of our Ultras. We also have some Hooligans, neither my Fanclub nor our Ultras like them, however, every time those tools do some violent shit, some of my Ultra friends can expect to get a visit from the police within the following weeks. On time the freaking cops even rang on my doorbell. Ultras are basically just extremely passionate fans who love their team, many are not violent at all, but in the media they get painted with the same brush as hooligans and the police doesn't get it either. It sucks

Second one is from morocco 🇲🇦 the government passed a law that prohibits the ultras from attending the games and associated them with hooliganism and people have been wrongfully sent to jail just for supporting the ultras or being a member of it

The fans in Europe are organized fans. They have headquarters clubhouses and they meet up and write chants and prepare for the big games. Every fan base has a leader. The fans are not in it for the sport itself but for the love of their clubs. Every club in Europe has all sports soccer, basketball, volleyball, water polo, etc. This type of atmosphere happens in the big rivalries not in all games. The atmosphere is terrifying...your body goes numb. Most of these fans don't like sports..they just want to belong to a club and they show it.

The things with ultras is that in their unconditional support for their club is really a life style. And when games go bad or the come in contact with ultras of other clubs(especially with historical rivaling clubs) . Tensions get extremely high with fighting and destruction of property from time to time. And more and more laws are getting voted across europe to punish the violence hard. But many ultras see those fights as part of their life and as a unspoken agreement between the rivaling groups. A bit like fighting a box match is not punishable by law. From their tension between ultras and policeforces and governments can get bad

I thought the lyrics of that San Lorenzo chant were "we drink red wine straight from the carton" , which would be more characterizing. Personally I like the melancholic songs more than the "war chants". Hibernian for example, with "Sunshine on Leith" by local boys The Proclaimers. Or "Forever blowing bubbles" from West Ham. "Bloed, Zweet en Tranen" for Ajax has the potential. Their Marley song "Three Little Birds" is great for several reasons, but lacks melancholy.

Melancholy does just that; it brings the whole vibe down. There's defo a place for those songs, but I've noticed as soon as Celtic fans start singing songs that have been around generations; YNWA comes through the speakers and manipulates the atmosphere.

To really understand some of these chants you have to be familiar with (local) politics and or history. The upcoming (in the 2nd half of this vid) Lazio song 'Avanti Ragazzi di Buda' e.g. is about the revolt against the Russian suppression of Hungarians in the 50's. Deep sh*t indeed! PS: yesterday I double dared you HcX to prove your statement bout American firms. So far we've seen jack sh*t. ;)

Great reaction! I can relate to the lack of interest for sports and at the same time be fascinated about the culture around sports. the fanatic character of these supporters has, often, a deeper root. I don't mean deeper meaning with that, but there are many 'old ways' woven into this rather typical behavior. In other words, if football would be taken away "this" will still find a way to the surface. For example, in days of yesteryear matches were often played between neighborhoods. By people who were representing those specific neighborhoods. And cities agains each other. A bit much to go into dept but there's a bit more to it than people whom are just really into watching and supporting sports. Oh, and another 'thing'; in western societies we tend to make kids, including boys, sit still and color within in the lines. Feminizing and individualizing. On the video these boys are craving for the exact opposite. Not much room to be a bit more wild anymore, just sit still guys. All day every day! Kids whom move to much and rather ride their bike instead of going to school must have something very very wrong with them, obviously. (bring in medicine, quick..) Food for thought, perhaps.
