Exactly why I went for the no seal forms over building my own. I was making them out of MDF and waiting/wasting a day letting the caulk cure. Then when I went to pour sometimes the mold half leaks and sometimes not. Was too much of an emotional rollercoaster. Now, no worries and no stress about building a mold u less it's a custom piece

I recently received two of the forms and just removed the first sample piece and poured a second a few hours ago. I went with the smallest (4.5"x25" coaster) form to use for coasters (duh) and figured it would be useful for samples/experiments as well and then I ordered the largest (24"x48") which will hopefully cover coffee tables and most other items. I figured that I'd cut a couple of pieces of scrap and use the house wrap tape to make dividers to use - have you ever tried that? Also, any thoughts on making larger forms or do production or shipping really limit the feasibility of going larger?
@jeffmackdesigns
@jeffmackdesigns 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Steve, We have created dividers using plywood and the sheathing tape. It works really well and I would recommend it. We have considered larger forms but (as you mentioned) the shipping and logistics of it just doesn't make sense from a business perspective.

When sealing the molds, you simply want to remove the walls of the form and apply a bead of silicone between the wall and the base of the form and bolt it back together. The cross bars can be seen in ction on our KZbin Video called "How To | Epoxy + Wood Cutting Board with Epoxy Handle".

@jeffmackdesigns 3 жыл бұрын
The Resealable HDPE Forms are resealable (The side walls bolt on and off) and the No Seal Forms are a one piece construction which don't require and sealing. The main benefits to the resealable forms are that the walls are 90 degrees, some of them come with dividers and they all come with hold downs to clamp your piece down.
