Yeah the RDNA2 equipped Steam Deck shows about a 60% performance uplift from Vega, so it should be really exciting to see mini PCs with RDNA2 APUs soon. AMD is lifting integrated graphics into gaming capable performance levels. I love it. Just what we need right now that video cards are so hard to find/expensive.

@@eca7773 No. AMD's 6000 series, code named Rembrandt, will come with Zen 3 and RDNA 2 as well as DDR5/LPDDR5, built with TSMC's new 6nm process, a refresh over the existing 7nm yet being cheaper than 5nm. Also in the 6000 series there will be lower models based on the existing 7nm, Zen 3, Vega and DDR/LPDDR4, presumably reusing and rebranding Cezanne dies, just like R7 5700U (based on Zen 2) and R7 5800U (based on Zen 3).

Buddy, a popular classic video would be if you did a Premiere or Davinci Resolve video editing project on this & post it. With MULTI vide/audio tracks/layers, 30 to 90 minutes, reportage to feature film lengths. I think this is basically the best affordable mobile video editing box currently. It'll be hugely popular for certain niches, cinematographers, film makers, local reporters, editing & CGI, DSLR & Camera groups etc etc. Totally new segments for your channel as it gets tagged by Google for their groups' types suggested videos one by one as they come across it one by one.

Wonderful video, congrats!... On a side note; let me to say that I hope those mini PC's to become more prevalent on the market sooner rather than later... It is already difficult to find them on street stores here in Portugal... Because on most of our small homes we need to get rid of those old towers some of us indeed have there!... Laptops are good for professional work, but sort of fail on entertainment. The big towers were wonderful on both work or entertainment, but they require lots of very valuable real estate. Those mini PC's can to become the best of those 2 worlds!...

Don't think it will be available at pyhsical stores anywhere in the world any time soon. Usually you will only see big name products like HP, Dell, Samsung, Sony, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Apple etc at physical stores, they seldom showcase products from small independent China companies like Minisforum, Beelink etc. You'll likely have to get from online stores for the foreseeable future for all these miniPCs.

I don't know about everyone else but I plug my HD's into the back and thats where I expect/want the fastest USB ports to be. I also think most people would rather have 2 HDMI ports for a dual monitor setup rather than having to use different cables. And Lastly I would like someone to do a video to show me how I can benefit from multiple Ethernet ports. What scenerios will these be useful? Thanks for the video :-)

I agree on the USB ports, and USB 2.0 seems really odd, but almost all manufacturers seem to put the fastest ports on the front and the slowest on the back. Even if they only doubled up on the USB-C ports, one on the front and one on the back, I'd be happier.

You can easily unlock all the power and performance to even further test your theory by using the Ryzen APU tuning Utility which lets you unlock every aspect of any of the Ryzen APU's on the market, the 5900 as well so take a look at it and post your findings as I am pretty curious how much power is still locked away behind closed doors and whether or not I will want to still pick one up. Just got mine less than 10 days ago and yet the Crucial NVME M2.2280 failed leading to the computer to freeze then reboot but the BIOS was not able to detect the NVME module anymore... I did send an email to Morfine but so far no answer from them... Will let you know if Morfine is going to help.

Do you recommend this pc for video editing and photo editing? I'm not pro editor but I want something that won't lag and heavy in the middle of the edit that's the case with my 4500U plz reply I need a PRO OPINION!

Very heavy editing you really need a dedicated GPU, but this will perform much better than a 4500U WAY Better!

As powerful as the Zen cores are - the Vega chips just hold this thing back SO much when it comes to gaming etc. That's pretty much the only problem, everything else is great. Can't wait to get RDNA2 in APUs at the end of the year / next year to really drive these mini PCs forward in that area~

Why would you say the Vega graphics is holding back the performance given it is the best integrated graphics as of now? You can't get any better iGPU performance on any MiniPC as of now even if you have the money.
@8lacKhawKtheRIPPER
@8lacKhawKtheRIPPER 3 жыл бұрын
@@acejon2162 ..hm? A piece of tech being held back by one of its components has nothing to do with there being a better alternative. It is the strongest APU in its class, but we've already gotten information about how stronger integrated RDNA2 chips are going to be with Valve's Steam Deck. Games are running with like 80-100% more FPS and that's with Zen2 (!) cores on the CPU side. That just shows how old the Vega graphics really are and it's pretty obvious that this is the one big issue with the current line of APUs.

So there is a new upcoming hardware that performs better, isn't this the case for all computer hardware? Just because there is upcoming new hardware doesn't automatically make the current one useless. I'm still using a gen 4 intel CPU notebook, the PS4, a samsung S7 Edge, all of which perform as they are when I first bought them and will continue to serve me until their end of life.

Your video shows that Linux Mint works without any problem. That's weird though. I just boutht he morefine with the 5800u cpu. Linux mint freezes on the usb live boot as soon as the logo pops on the screen. I would appreciate if you help me out with that. I suspect it probably has to do with the bios settings. How did you set yours? Maybe a tutorial will help.

Hello! Great review, I'm very tempting to buy a mini PC in the future, and this one looks great with a decent perform, do you think that it can be used to render some 3d stuffs? Or you think it's possible to put and external connection for a graphics card?. Also I wants to know if you are considering review the mi pad 5, it's only on china at the moment. But I have doubts about the pen. And I like to draw. Thank for your chanel!

Question here... With the USB PD, I realize 120W may be needed for the 5900HX. However if I were to go with the 5800U and adjust the CPU to 15w, would a 60w USB-C PD charger power source be able to power this? Given that with the 5900HX set at 45w you had a max draw from the wall of 64w, I would think it should be below 60w for the 5800u at 15w. The reason I ask, is that I have a monitor that supports 60w PD as well an external storage device that both have USB PD3.0 but deliver only 60w. This device looks great, just really trying to cut down on cables as much as possible.

P.s. The motherboard will have some semblance of Vrms with buck-boost capabilities. But my guess is 5 volts will be too short. And 30 volts is going to greatly shorten the life of the board. Smooth power delivery from a trusted source at or near 19 volts is probably going to be most eupeptic. Kindest regards.

You can actually increase the TDP of the Ryzen 9 5900HX using AMD APU Tuning Utility or Ryzen Controller. Maybe you can test this on another video?

I would rather see a product being reviewed as in out of box performance rather than increasing TDP, generating more heat and shortening the lifespan of the product. Getting the product overclocked performance is nice and such but it will not represent the day to day usage of most people buying the product. Plus the risk of overheating and shortening the product lifespan is real. Which is why I dislike most of ETA Prime's videos.

I'm waiting for Valve to offer their SteamDeck processor in a form factor like this, but instead of 1.6Ghz RDNA2, i'm hoping with the exrta cooling you could hit 2.4Ghz on those powerful RDNA2 cores
