Wonderful video, congrats!... On a side note; let me to say that I hope those mini PC's to become more prevalent on the market sooner rather than later... It is already difficult to find them on street stores here in Portugal... Because on most of our small homes we need to get rid of those old towers some of us indeed have there!... Laptops are good for professional work, but sort of fail on entertainment. The big towers were wonderful on both work or entertainment, but they require lots of very valuable real estate. Those mini PC's can to become the best of those 2 worlds!...

Don't think it will be available at pyhsical stores anywhere in the world any time soon. Usually you will only see big name products like HP, Dell, Samsung, Sony, Lenovo, Asus, Acer, Apple etc at physical stores, they seldom showcase products from small independent China companies like Minisforum, Beelink etc. You'll likely have to get from online stores for the foreseeable future for all these miniPCs.

You can easily unlock all the power and performance to even further test your theory by using the Ryzen APU tuning Utility which lets you unlock every aspect of any of the Ryzen APU's on the market, the 5900 as well so take a look at it and post your findings as I am pretty curious how much power is still locked away behind closed doors and whether or not I will want to still pick one up. Games are running with like 80-100% more FPS and that's with Zen2 (!) cores on the CPU side. Hello! Great review, I'm very tempting to buy a mini PC in the future, and this one looks great with a decent perform, do you think that it can be used to render some 3d stuffs? Or you think it's possible to put and external connection for a graphics card?. Also I wants to know if you are considering review the mi pad 5, it's only on china at the moment. But I have doubts about the pen. And I like to draw. Thank for your chanel!

Hi the only way to get an external GPU is m.2 Pcie to Pcie eGPU that I've reviewed before in the channel. Also the Mi Pad 5 is ordered but will take a few weeks to arrive.

Question here... With the USB PD, I realize 120W may be needed for the 5900HX. However if I were to go with the 5800U and adjust the CPU to 15w, would a 60w USB-C PD charger power source be able to power this? Given that with the 5900HX set at 45w you had a max draw from the wall of 64w, I would think it should be below 60w for the 5800u at 15w. The reason I ask, is that I have a monitor that supports 60w PD as well an external storage device that both have USB PD3.0 but deliver only 60w. This device looks great, just really trying to cut down on cables as much as possible.

P.s. The motherboard will have some semblance of Vrms with buck-boost capabilities. But my guess is 5 volts will be too short. And 30 volts is going to greatly shorten the life of the board. Smooth power delivery from a trusted source at or near 19 volts is probably going to be most eupeptic. Kindest regards.

@TechTablets love your reviews on SF PCs could you possible do one on a SF PC with dedicated GPU support - possible alternatives to Intel Beast Canyons for instance?
@Techtablets3 жыл бұрын
I'm working on one now. It's a SF PC with an RTX 3060 12GB and Intel NUC Extreme compute unit. But it's not a cheap PC!

would the igpu peformance still be the same even if u chose the ryzen 5 or 7 options?

You can actually increase the TDP of the Ryzen 9 5900HX using AMD APU Tuning Utility or Ryzen Controller. Maybe you can test this on another video?
@Techtablets3 жыл бұрын
I'll take a lot but so far the interest in this mini pc is much lower than expected so probably not worth a second video with TDP and other tweaks using APU Tuning Utility or Ryzen Controller.

@@Techtablets I clicked your links for this. No price. So no reason to have interest. Closed the pages immediately.

I would rather see a product being reviewed as in out of box performance rather than increasing TDP, generating more heat and shortening the lifespan of the product. Getting the product overclocked performance is nice and such but it will not represent the day to day usage of most people buying the product. Plus the risk of overheating and shortening the product lifespan is real. Which is why I dislike most of ETA Prime's videos.

I'm waiting for Valve to offer their SteamDeck processor in a form factor like this, but instead of 1.6Ghz RDNA2, i'm hoping with the exrta cooling you could hit 2.4Ghz on those powerful RDNA2 cores
@acejon21623 жыл бұрын
I would expect other miniPC companies such as Minisforum or Beelink to have their RDNA2 miniPCs ready way before steam even make any announcements.

Would you need a ryzen 9 for a plex server or could a ryzen 7 or ryzen 5 be enough?

7 and 5 would be fine

Looking for mini pc with power delivery because I hate cables and this one is the first mini pc with solid iGPU that support it. Hopefully I ll be able to buy this soon. But why did they put usbc with power delivery on front…

It can be shipped in September, I am looking forward to it! Morefine S500+

I know it's not the same chip. But, how do you think a 5700G or 5800G would compare for editing?

I think it would be very similar

Minisforum did their own benchmark comparisons the other day between this and the 5700G. I believe I saw it on the "videocardz" site.
